The Acura Integra Type S is the BEST daily driver you can get. Period. Full stop. Why? It combines all of the attributes that a car enthusiast dad like me is looking for in a daily driver: the Acura Integra Type S has four doors and a hatch, it has a satisfying 320 hp turbo 4 cylinder running through the world's most perfect six speed manual transmission, and it handles unlike any other front wheel drive performance car except for Honda's other amazing car, the Honda Civic Type R. It is quite simply the perfect performance car to live with every day, and it gives you just enough premium touches like Acura's fabulous ELS audio system, to make you feel special. The Acura Integra Type S is one of the most satisfying cars we've had on the channel, especially from the enthusiast dad perspective, where it didn't feel like you were compromising on something. The Integra Type S is comfortable when it needs to be, aggressive when you want it to be, and full of the most important options you'd want in a premium vehicle. Sure, a muscle car like the Ford Mustang GT or something of that nature might be more pure fun than the Acura Integra Type S, but there would be concessions made to daily usability. Even Acura's own TLX Type S, a car we both really like (more on that soon...), isn't really much bigger inside and has a less functional trunk space -- not to mention only comes in an automatic. Sure, it feels more Acura and more luxurious, but you're paying a LOT of money for it and the compromises it comes with. Because of that, the Acura Integra Type S hits the sweet spot. No other car gives you so much of what you want as an enthusiast and so little what you don't. That's why the 2024 Acura Integra Type S is the BEST daily driver you can buy right now.

Picking up mine on Sunday. Im pretty sure I've watched every review on RU-vid. Keep doing what you're doing because there's so many kids doing reviews that can't relate to the to the 90's driving experience. As a guy that spent months convincing his own wife that this one was just as you said it was, I appreciate you pulling your wife in for her perspective.

I have a all blacked out one, absolutely has been a blast to drive. It doesn’t murder me in heavy traffic as well which has been a pleasant surprise. But I have 11k miles now and I drive in Sport+ and I get 29mpg easy. There’s zero difference in fuel efficiency between modes. Actually Sport+ is better.

I love the type r and the integra type s. I almost bought 1 last year but my wife didn’t allow me because of the manual transmission.😢 she wanted a car that she can also drive even though we all have 1 car each. So I ended up getting a 2024 mustang ecoboost for half the price of the type s ( 27k). Was really surprised that I got it that low last November 2023.😮 27k with 315 HP was a great deal and it made my wife allow me to get a coupe (automatic😢). So far it’s been a blast driving it. The technology, different handling/drive options plus 33 MPG😮 is jut mind blowing for the price I paid.

I wholeheartedly agree with this review. My evidence? I bought one and picked it up over the weekend! I went with the black interior, as I'm fearful of how well the orchid interior will age (looks great... for about 2 weeks!). CTR was initially my first choice but finding one (nevermind at MSRP) was nigh near impossible. I also checked out the base Integra when it launched, but quickly realized I wanted something more special. I'm also getting to the age where a "nice place to be" is something I want (and can afford). I also came from a 2013 Focus ST that I had since new. When I bought it, it was the balance of personality, performance, and creature comforts I wanted at that stage in my life. Though annoyingly, there are a couple of interior features that Focus has that the Integra and CTR don't have... Examples: auto up/down on all 4 windows (CTR/ITS are front only), rear power port (Focus is 12V only, but it's an early 2010s car), ability to unlock the car from all 4 door handles (I can't tell you how many times I did that!), a rear armrest, a full-sized spare tire (which I have used on a few occasions). In terms of ITS vs. CTR, there's one other interior item that sets the two cars apart. The ITS has a place to store your sunglasses. The CTR does not. It's all about the little things... That alone is worth the price difference! 🤣

One more question, did you have a chance to drive it in the snow? I live in Boston, MA where the snow is ridiculous, and my only concern is this thing isn't going to be good in the snow. I know where you live, there isn't too much. But I figured I'd ask. Thanks again for all of the information about both cars, the TLX and the Integra.
@jax1079
@jax1079 19 дней назад
Great question! Unfortunately no, since we only have them for a week or two and the weather was quite mild during my road trip from Atlanta to Tennessee. That said, I know snow tires make a big difference, but don't listen to us southerners about anything snow related 😂

After having owned both vehicles, Type R & Type S... traded the civic(8k miles) for the integra (shy 2k miles now) the Acura is the better car UNLESS you are tracking your daily then the Type R is for you... shame i went ahead and purchased the Type R with a markup($5k) back in July 23' - got the integra at msrp about 2 months ago. suspension, quiet cabin/unbeatable sound system, exhaust to name a few... All I know is the price of the DE5/FL5 will go up once Honda is done with this generation. They already said is going to be the last ICE manual under their portfolio.
@jax1079
@jax1079 2 месяца назад
I'm not so sure about that. Assuming anything is going to be a good long term investment is dicey, but I'm not sure the allure of the current Civic Type R compared with the relative rarity of manual transmissions will have a downstream payoff. Cars like the C7 Corvette were far better to drive as manuals, but the value compared to automatics isn't appreciably different. The same people who can't drive a stick now aren't going to want one in a "classic" a decade off two from now. Sad but true.

@@ricktrue8441If you buy and and don’t drive it for 10 years, it will be worth double the price. So it is an investment. Slow growing one. A vehicle is an investment to get back and forth to work, food, etc. These will lose the least amount of value compared to other vehicles. Look at old Type R’s. They are sell for higher prices used than new. So it’s a good investment while losing the least amount of value for a new car in today’s car market. As long as one only pays msrp.
