@@Jason-gq8fo Well there are different levels of "well received". Given their long absence, GW would really have to screw up to get bad feedback on them (well they did rules-wise, with their bad introduction in both 9th and 10th). Even you would have to admit that on every video or post about Squats half the comments say something along the lines of "Oh why is this so much more interesting than Votann?" I mean, your own comment here is an example of that. If such statements weren't so widespread there wouldn't be a need to complain about them in the first place right? In my eyes the Votann on the whole are as "well received" as da-vinci admech (their flying units specifically). Enough players love them sure, but there's no denying there's a huge divide of opinions.

@@Highlaw It’s moreso that the dislike I see is often not backed by much other than personal bias. They aren’t perfect, and they aren’t what I’d have done, but they are in a lot of ways as analogous to dwarves as Eldar are to elves, just taken in something of a different direction than to what was expected, whilst still making sense (for the most part). I guess it just feels like there’s a vocal minority that are very inflamed about Votann. But of course, that’s a feeling. I can’t really back that claim myself, ironically.

They’re going for a new direction. It may be disappointing for some people but I generally like the new direction they’re going with them. Plus if your creative enough you can make the votann look dwarfy enough.

@@hazardbastard9422 I think the new votann design works better as a whole army aesthetic while the goofier more old style squat aesthetic works best in smaller scale stuff like necromunda. Gotta say GW has handled the space dwarves quite well
