Wow, that's an amazing mold. Someone put Great thought into the frame and the base to keep it from sinking in!!! Will definitely order this as soon as I have the funds available to do so!!!! I was given this mold as a free gift from TEMU,(love them) with no instructions of course, and have been wondering how in the world to put together the braces it came with, to pour the mold. I have this same mold and agree it’s great it comes with all the supports. I like the patterns on the bowl of the tray. They look like old cave drawings. One of a man bowling, one of a penguin and one of a dolphin.
I have a tray mold that is almost exactly like that one. The difference is that it has a grid on the bottom that keeps it from dipping in the middle. It's from let's resin, you should check out that one too, I love it!! Nice job on yours btw.

Hi Steve, I ordered this tray after watching your video. I wanted you to know that when I received it there was 1 of the wooden frame pieces missing. I returned it for a replacement. The replacement came and it was missing 3 pieces. Luckily I had not returned the first one, so I took the pieces I needed to make my set complete. I do like the mold .
Hi Steve. I love this mold as well, for the ridge around it is great. I only prefer trays (and coasters) that have the outer ledge on them so as to hold things in. I'm always concerned that things will slide off and break on ones without a ledge. This tray would make a nice way to hold a women's items on their dresser like their lotions/hand creams, deodorant, make up, etc. Or, for guys to hold their wallet, keys, cellphone, etc.; it can work for both. I'd like to try this, but I was wondering, could you add letters for a name and a saying on them? And if so, how would you do it, and if one day you could do a video on it to show us? I want to individualize each tray, for I need to make five of them for my two sisters and friends for Christmas. You've given me some great ideas for presents for them, and this is the third idea from you that I'd like to try. It's going to save me a lot of money making homemade gifts. Thankx for all of your videos. You're quite adventerous in your thinking and experimenting, and I love both of your channels. I'm like a kid at Christmas, for I can't wait to see your next videos. That really is a great mold! It's awesome that they included those parts so the mold will be stable. I bought a tray mold that looks pretty much identical to that one, but it didn't come with the extras.

I ordered this tray and when I got it, it was unusable. Two of the stand pieces were broken and the large wood piece was twisted and warped. When I read the reviews that was the quality most people were getting. It looks like yours arrived in good condition though. There are more expensive ones out there that are far better quality.
Any chance you can use the other side of the mold and pour into the center? Those dimensions are perfect for a project I have in mind, but I haven't been able to find a mold deep enough yet still somewhat shallow and this would be perfect
Get yourself a set of clay molding kit, they are like paint brushes but with silicone tips on them, can swirl with them till your hearts content without worrying about scratching your molds

I've got a tray mold with the same sticks around the outside, but the mold itself has a grid built underneath out of silicone to keep the tray level. I would rather have one like yours because silicone is so expensive & wood is much cheaper, so yours makes more sense. My mold has 90° angle corners. I'm not sure if I prefer mine or yours on that
I made one and I really like it but I wonder how next time I can keep the colours from running together and being kind of muted. I prefer the colours before they cure.

Steve do you know how much resin you used for this project? What's hilarious is I have the same mold but my pieces that support the bottom plate got broken, I improvised and made a big thick plate to put underneath out of cardboard!
@@grootboot here is a hint because it's what I do. I write the amount I used on a round sticker then on the bottom of the mold I use glue dot and stick it on
@Michael Pearson Great idea! Sometimes I don't remember to measure with water before I want to use it and then I don't want to in case I don't dry it enough. 🤦 Never dawned on me to fill with dry ingredients! 🤷
What a good idea - do you think it would be possible to make our own frames for similar moulds? Say from strengthened cardboard? Do you know how much resin is needed for the tray? Thank you as always Steve 😊
Is the final tray a bit bendy? That always seems to be my problem with trays, it could be user error, but most of the time it seems like the flat portion is just not thick enough
I'm just curious, I really like the design and bits to keep the mold from bowing. But I have a cup mold that I have seen sold for cheap on amazon but I have the exact same cup mold but with all these bits already made into the silicone. Couldn't they make the tray mold with all this added in to the silicone or is it really cheaper to manufacture a secondary wooden piece for better stability? Or even just using a better grade of silicone would give it better stability. I'm just curious if the reason they chose wood was cheaper, that's all
It would be quite a lot more cost to produce if it were solid silicone, going by the height of the wooden frame I'd say very expensive. You could mould it out of a silicone with a higher shore level but again you'd still need to bulk it out to stop sagging, with the downside being massive costs and making it harder to demould
