Literally, stopped playin smite waiting for the 27th, just want to play a cleaner version of the game, coulda just honestly went with a massive update game was fun how it was, just looked older
@@alexquinones8747 That's unfortunately impossible with the gap and how the tech works. Unreal 5 wasn't made with upgrading games from Unreal 3 to this modern engine in mind. It will be worth it though bc the infrastructure will be much cleaner and will make it easier for Hirez to fix bugs
Thanks for confirming that’s there’s no point to making a sequel then if all the players are terrified of change. You’re now getting the same game except all your skins are gone. Lmao.
@@ezecarol11 its already not just an OV2 situation cause smite 1 is a fuckin dinosaur of a game and tech has progressed dramatically since 2014. It showed its age much more then OV1
THEY NAILED IT! I'm so happy and excited. One damage type per god is beautiful, the game has a unique style(that will evolve with the game) which is perfect, more fleshed out items is lovely. Super psyched
I'm really glad they made the environment look more vibrant. The realistic look to all the trees and rocks was nice, but it just didn't feel like it had that charm of Smite 1.
I am irrationally excited about those Opal skins specifically, like hullo BEAUTIFUL. These changes are looking great! Definitely going to hop on to check out the progression with Ascension passes asap.
I love the ascention pass. I'm really happy they made it mostly free, as well as giving you free 💎 just for leveling. The new mastery skins and shadow skins look spectacular. My only gripes are the price, and the overall UI of that page specifically. 900 total gems is crazy for whats essentially recolours. I also hate that theres a worshiper booster for those gods. Worshipers should be a reflection of skill, not of how much $ you spend, small gripes that I'm sure can be worked on
The pricing of general skins for Diamonds is yet to be seen but keep in mind that 1 gem is roughly 2 diamonds (aka you get around 2x the diamonds per dollar as you did gems) so realistically the Ascensions passes are more like 450 gems (225 if you use legacy gems).
@Inters3ct true, will be nice to see once they add an actual store to compare prices and find out the actual value of things. Still think an ascention pass shouldn't cost any more than $2-$3 USD realistically (imo) But I think the fact that getting 2 gods diamond will give you enough currency to buy 1 ascention for free is great.
worshippers are just basically how much you played that character, i've seen people who've had thousands and thousands of worshippers on one character but play like someone who just started the game
He was the most popular release of all time but does take a lot of tech work especially in the ultimate so my (completely uninformed) opinion is he will be among the first half but not there immediately.
I’m so happy they’re actually using control c, control v. Smite 1 is a very well crafted game and there’s no reason to not use those assets to speed up development. No one is going to be mad about book of Thoth not having a new name or icon 😂
It will have a new icon, but just an updated HD version of the SMITE 1 one. The ported art are just placeholders for now. Look at SMITE 2 Chronos Pendant as an example.
I'm glad they're launching the mastery system with 24/7 alpha. Does feel like they're picking up the pace to get everything on track for about where they want to be. I didn't think the maps needed too much of an overhaul because its still early, I'd rather have a functioning map then something aesthetically appealing during the pre-launch phases. Finally feels like Smite. Not sure how I feel about the one damage type. It makes things a lot easier since they wouldn't have to deal with too much additional math. At that point might as well bring back classes since it will be easier to tell who does what kind of damage, though I don't feel it should be a hard design philosophy. Honestly they probably should stick them in categories by preferred role rather than classes or have a list of all roles in order of what they'd be best in. Its a lot better than having a list of traits and guess where they'd be good at.
during the stream everyone was super upset about aegis coming back and i dont really get it. Aegis sucks without beads. So in s2, if you have cc on the hunter and they dont have beads or blink, they're basically dead. being immune to damage wont save them if they are standing still from cc.
@@Inters3ct Honestly Smite isn't the same without Aegis, I never really played or achieved a higher rank than plat (s4 I think) where it's obvious that other relics take priority since you are expected to perform and position yourself better but playing the rest of the modes religiously and seeing beads + aegis panic is chef's kiss, it just wouldn't be the same game anymore.
I'VE BEEN WANTING THAT IN OG SMITE FOR YEARS!?! Starters having their own slots and you can buy 6 other normal items. Sometimes just buying both 3k pots doesn't end the game and I'd want to fit something i'd need that would go perfectly with my build. Damn, i wish they'd implement this in Smite 1 as well.
@@thedoomslayer5863 Yeah. That's what it looks like. Your normal starter, 6T3 items. 3 of them can have actives. Idk what happens if you try to buy another item with an active, if you'd just lose the ability to use it's active or just can't buy it outright.
@@xRagingxDemonx I hope they don't let u buy it outright until u sell one of the 3 so u don't waste money on a active item with a active u can't even use. As for 7 items IDK how that would work since we have always balanced around 6. Could be damage dealers nuke things too much or tanks never die with that extra item worth of stats
@@thedoomslayer5863 You should only be impacted in a 30min+ match. Where you're deciding between finishing your 7th item or starter, vs obtaining a 3k pot. 3k pots in smite 1 gives you 25% power increase and 10% pen. Potentially around 70 power and 10% pen. That's 2 and a half items for the price of a high value item. that's only for phys. Magicals can get around 140 power dopending on what they're building. It will probably have the same rules of requiring level 15 and max level to purchase upgrades. I just find it to be valuable because Sometimes the match is like a stalemate and I'd want to fit in an extra item but i can't sacrifice my starter. Either way... They can still rebalance items this just opens up builds more. There are so many that fight for the same spot.
Coming back to smite after 4 years you think the alpha will be a good thing to jump into for me? Or should I play smite 1 for a bit before I jump into the 24/7 alpha that’s coming. How’s the auto buy? (Obviously I’m gonna have to learn builds but I’d like to just play for a bit before I start trying to perfect everything)
All I’m seeing in all the details they’re adding to the loading cards is tons of disconnects on console due to issue related to the cards. And if it’s anything like console in S1, they won’t get them fixed for years.
I don't understand why they got back to one damage type per god ? I thought the new mechanic of mixed damage was really intersting and had a lot of potential for fun builds and meta changes. Was it unpopular ? Was there a concern that the game would be too difficult to balance or too hard to play for casual players ?
Its because people are crybabies and they dont want to have new mechanics to learn new stuff. Instead they want exact copy of smite 1 with new graphics. Its a shame.
i just hope they actually put the screen back onto the K key binding not control like wtf. i just don't understand how everyone wanted the K screen back and they don't even put it on K.
Really Bad news ! For me, it was good to have a Smite 2 that was different from the first, but frankly, the more things go on, the more we're just doing a Smite 1 with an updated graphics engine.
I'm kinda glad they're limiting active items, like even though I'd rather not have them at all, atleast I don't need to have 13-14 keybinds just to play the game, it's a MOBA not an MMO
Any idea if they're planning on introducing input buffering for spells in smite2 ? For a person having played most other mobas the absence of this feature is a deal breaker, which is a shame considering how beautiful and otherwise well designed the game is .
So i dont really get what they were thinking with the tanks getting protection scaling. There are no "tanks" anymore. everyone starts with the same stats. They're locking certain characters in a box to where, assuming that hirez is classifying hecate as a "mage" instead of "tank" shes now going to be at an inherent disadvantage for building support in duo lane compared to a god like ymir, who will probably be getting Prot scaling because hirez says he's a "tank". and thats something they said they wanted to avoid. This will probably happen to other off-pick supports like nox, baron, fenrir, ne zha, aphrodite, hel. I am a massive fan of the idea of prot scaling, i just think they did it wrong. Prot scaling should be available for all characters. An idea i had for prot scaling was that there are 3 tiers of prot scaling depending on how much you focus your build on prots. Each tier lowers your damage output by 5% so if you get to tier 3 you get major buffs but damage is nerfed by 15% Tier 1: 100+ prots (grants hp/s) Tier 2: 200+ prots (For each ally near you gain 2% damage mitigation) Tier 3: 300+ prots (Your CC is no longer affected by DR) Doing this would immediately make every character with cc viable for support. Also that mockup of tiers is probably mega unbalanced its just a concept.
i see what your concern in but it depends how they do it. Imagine they give Ymir a shield when he ults that scales off of prots, and the slow on his 2 and ult increase from prots. This would give him extra incentive to build prots but not force him to do it to be viable
@@cadehogan3061 my issue is that other characters *dont* get the prot scaling. Meaning that some characters are statistically better tanks than others now. They basically brought guardians back into the game when the reason they got rid of classes in the first place was to make it so anyone can play anywhere. But now if i wanna play an off-support pick like baron or hecate, i dont get prot scaling and the guardian support Athena on the other team does.
@@Nonco-1 The any god in any role was never a feasible idea you need boundaries for balancing certain gods should be tanks while others shouldn't game would be a nightmare to balance otherwise
I don’t know if anyone said this yet but why remove both physical and magical damage on gods. that was such a fun and silly thing you could do full physical damage with grit on Ymir, are they just taking it away or are his basic attacks still physical
Hoping there is tech for the mastery skins to have some change on their ability animations, shadow skins were super jarring when isis or anhur would use their yellow abilities coming out of a shadow character, even just outline or and after glow that matches the skins effects would go a long way
THE ONLY THING I BEGGED IN FORUMS TO ADD TO SMITE 1 FOR PAST 3 YEARS WAS STARTER AS 7TH ITEM AND THEY JUST DECIDED YRACH FLUFF SMITE 1 WE DO IT ON SMITE
@@ezecarol11what time zone are you In?😂 barely july?! Bro it’s already almost halfway into august wym? You using a hyberbolic time chamber and not letting any of us get a shot with it?? (You said this a day ago btw so I’m not replying to an old comment)
When is the next alpha for smite 2, I missed the first one. Im now returning to smite after a 2 year hiatus. I've been playing since the beta on console.
Thanks for confirming that there is no point of hyping for smite 2 , players are scared of change so much, omg, no mixed dmg wow, i was hoping to play int chaac, mixed dmg could gave new life to kinda older realeses, chaac and neith are good examples, whats the pint of allowing to bolid all items if there is no point now xD,
Changes as Huge as a crit ymir’s player’s… *ahem* valuable assets and team support. On amore serious note, i appreciate and also hate how much it’s trying to cater to “look it’s just like smite 1” because smite 2 is fundamentally different. I love the nods to the old game, but i don’t want it to just be smite 1.5. Same gods? Cool. Similar but not all same items? Also cool. Swap in old and new items for fun patches? Sure. Bring back recipes for a season? Idk, looks like starter items are good enough to me. Am i making sense?
Here’s my suggestion for the active item conundrum: _Make it so that every fully upgraded item has a Passive AND an Active versions of itself you can opt into._
amazing. theyre adding stuff instead of changing things, dont know why it took 4 alpha tests for that - literally said since day 1 of alpha testing the game is trash 😭
Too early to say , depends on the pricing of things like battlepasses , chests , etc . Right now it’s more cost efficient than it was before and with legacy gems for the those who have been playing for years things are actually cheaper .
For example right now if you have no gems and wanted a battle pass or something , it would cost you $13 usd to get the 600 gems to purchase the pass. Even without the legacy gems , the ascension pass (which I’m assuming will be cheaper than actual battle passes I know ) is 900 diamonds which is around 7 ish dollars in comparison. If battlepasses stay in the 12-14$ range, add into the 50 percent off due to legacy gems , you pay less for more .
I’m gonna guess battlepasses (non crossover) will be around 1500 diamonds full cost (750 diamonds 750 legacy gems) . $5 plan would probably give you around 550 - 650 diamonds to incentive people to buy the $10 plan to unlock what they want . Odyssey content for sure gonna be 13000 diamonds.
