Don't worry: everyone fan girls over Sam's hair. It's a running joke at the conventions and even in the show itself.

Here's where we start to get into some of the deeper characterization things - though we're just scratching the surface ;) So much of what the shifter said as Dean, is actually true of the REAL Dean... it also always gives me chills, how quickly and easily Dean dispatches "himself". You pointed it out - thought there would be more of a fight between Dean and Dean - but it was over very quickly. Sam had to reassure himself "you're NOT HIM!" to fight the shifter, because it was wearing Dean's face. Dean didn't hesitate - and I think that says a LITTLE bit of sad, unpleasant stuff about how Dean sees/values himself. :( I'm really glad you liked this episode.

I remember seeing an interview where Eric Kripke described watching someone watch this and the reaction ( like yours and most of us) of Dean taking his shirt off (woohoo skin yaya) to his hands and teeth popping off then skin off (eww oh ugh gross) was one of when he knew he was taking the right approach to the show,lol.

Love, LOVE, LOOOOVVVVVEEE this episode. It is consistently in any “favorites” list I come up with. I’m enjoying watching you fall more and more in love with our Show, our boys and J2 (Jared and Jensen). Not sure if you ever do “fan content” videos, but once you get a bit farther into the series, I hope you’ll consider reacting to some of the compilations of the cast doing Q&As at fan conventions. Also, be sure to check out the gag reels following each season. You get such a great sense of how close Jared and Jensen became as the show progressed. They truly became brothers in every connotation of the word. Finally, you may want to check out some of the videos of Jensen singing at fan conventions. He has a truly beautiful voice and transforms into a “rock god” each time he is onstage. He and his buddy Steve have written, recorded, and released 2 albums. With a 3rd in post production. The scene with Skinwalker Dean escaping from the police and shedding his skin is not the same without “Hey Man, Nice Shot” playing over it

I wish they'd kept "Hey Man, Nice Shot" as the background song for the shape shifting scene in this. I saw it when it premiered, and was excited because I loved that song. It was also on the X-Files soundtrack.💙

Great reaction! This episode is one of my faves of S1 as well. Love how much you love the Impala, she is a BE-A-UTIFUL sexy beast of a car!! I love all the disgusting skin-shedding stuff, but I'll admit I can't really watch the "Dean shedding" scene. it's just too much! 🤢 One of my favourite anecdotes about that scene was told on a retrospective by one of the producers. He said his niece (?) told him her friend messaged her during that scene and was like, "OMG! He's taking his shirt off!" and then like 30 seconds later messaged again like, "Oh god!! He's taking his friggin' skin off!" 😆😆 I feel her pain cause the first time through I was like, "Ooh! Shirt's comin' off! Look at how beautiful his back is! Oh WTF?!!!" 🤢🤢🤢 😄😄 Anyway, loved the reaction as usual. 😊

I love that you’re reacting to Supernatural. You appeared on my YT Suggestions and never thought of looking for people reacting to SPN. Wherever you are on the scale of 1-10 of liking Supernatural, I assure you if continue watching the series past Season 1 that your rating on the scale will blast way past 10. I’ve rewatched SPN a lot and nearly 2 weeks ago, I started rewatching it again. I am now on Season 7. I just cannot take my eyes away from the screen when any episode is on. Supernatural is easily 100,000 feet above any other film I’ve watched. By the way, every fan of SPN loves the Chevy Impala... “Baby“. You should consider watching the gag reel after you finish each season, that is if you’ll continue reacting to SPN after Season 1.

Yeah this one was the one that made me want to throw up the most, but honestly this first season is soooo intense I love looking back at it. Some of the absolute best episodes of the whole show!

awwww.. dude.. netflix changed the music. This episode is the one, for me, where that makes the biggest difference. If you know someone with a DVD of season one..(or tor) you have to watch this one again with the correct tunes.

I think that really depends on the police department working on the crime scenes how long those are labeld as "useful and actual" but by feeling I honestly, too, wouldn't give it more than a few and that only with darn good reasoning.

They changed the music((( I wasn't sure about the first episodes as I watched it a long time ago, but the sixth episode... I remember it very well. More about Dean, the shapeshifter and the music was so right. When I first saw it not on TV, but on the CD, I kept replaying the first scene over and over again endlessly because of the song Iron Butterfly!

Gross, but a favorite of mine. Shapeshifters are one of my favorite creatures that they face. Love the way they do it, different from most depictions of Shapeshifters, I like the shedding aspect. More literal. 😄

uh I remember watching this the first time I was 13 and jeez was I creeped out, this episode stuck in my mind for so long and every time I thought about the reasons spn is partly associated with horror, I think of this (amongst others) episode. yikes

i think this one is definitely a fan favorite and you gotta look at the car and Sam's hair as 2 other characters cause as you'll come to see they are just that

You should check out Dark Angel. It was Jensen's first significant scifi-fantasy genre role and he plays a pair of identical twins in it. He's in episode 1*18 "Pollo Loco" and then he's a main cast member in Season 2 because the writers and audience liked his appearance in Season 1 so much. There were two seasons. But the episodes before he came on are good, too. Dark Angel the American series that started in 2000. You can find full episodes on RU-vid by searching for "Dark Angel full episodes". Not Dark Angel the recent British historical fiction miniseries with the same name but no relation.
