Hey Control Porsche is making less gas powered cars because they want to keep the planet clean diesel and gas engines pollution the air too much plus in 2025 electric cars will be made more often
This sounds much better than the EV hellcat Dodge made. I believe as they make more EV’s, they’ll start to come with a distinct sound. More digital than a engine of course. If done well, it’ll sound amazing.
I like the Taycan because it doesn't try to mimic a gas car, it just fully embraces that EVs have a lot to offer in their own right. Maybe they aren't as exciting, but they're a little more than just a washing machine on wheels.
It’s proof that it can be done very well. The rare times that I’ve seen a Taycan on the road, you can actually hear it as well. It’s very unique and adds to the drama. The other day I was walking and one came up to the stop light I was at. I watched that thing shoot off immediately, and the noise coming from the car is really something everyone ought to hear. Not to mention to see it go 0-60 in no time. I know the plaid is faster, but cmon man I’d get a Taycan any day over a plaid, as cool as a car the plaid is.
"And finally, if you want this car it's going to go for an msrp of $150,000, your literal physical college degree, your first born child, and at least 3 inches of your hair if you have any"
@@odenroberts7603 same here! As someone who loves and owns old school gas guzzling V8’s and everything that comes with them I’m really leaning into the ev’s
Forest, I can't express how happy I get when you show up as I'm scrolling though a ton of tiktoks. Because I know that I am getting a quick ,Very informational, and fun car review
You can get a Taycan for as little as $86,700 and the GTS is less than $135k. Not *that* expensive for a luxury car. I’m neither a trust fund baby or a hedge fund anything and can afford one. Plenty of folks that ain’t rich can afford them too.
@@kabob21 did you read over that comment before you posted it? No. “Plenty” of people can not afford an 86k car, let alone a 135k car. Honestly, you using the words “as little as 86,000” in the same sentence makes me believe that you either are A: a kid with no sense of money yet, or B: have no sense of what people can afford. No one that isn’t “well off” looks at a car that’s 86k and just shrugs the price off.
911 will be an ICE car until and unless there's a full halt in Petroleum. Once it's closed, we'll have Electric 911's, Taycan would be a super saloon, and the Panamera would either be discontinued because after that it would've no purpose because the Taycan is available in Sedan and Cross-Turismo form just like the Panamera, the only distinct thing between them today is that Panamera is ICE and Taycan is EV.....So, in future no one has any idea. Probably if Porsche decides they can make Panamera a luxury only variant. But, ya let time come everything will be at front.
if you're a true car enthusiast why wouldn't you be into EVs, they're so much faster, quieter, and smoother, a real enthusiast would appreciate these things I'd imagine
I know I am a year late but here is what I think. Car enthusiasts usually care a lot about making their cars unique and cosmetics. And when your car is unique in terms of wheels tires ect you want to be connected to it which is why they want loud exhaust and intake sound is one of the main turn offs of EVs that and the fact that them relying on lithium batters makes them inherently rarer than ice since the used materials are a lot more common(iron mainly) so it will be more expensive as well so not as accessable to everyone.
Passed by one for the first time irl, i usually find the porsche taycan or turbo S & his one looks very much different , i love the back of the GTS, looks much more like the concept. But still, the tesla S plaid wins in my book, i just prefer that for many many reasons
I always kind of liked the Taycan. It isn’t a Cayman or 911 converted into an EV, like the new Charger Banshee EV is. The Taycan is its own model, its own thing, and I think that’s pretty awesome. Plus that noise it makes is LEAGUES better than the Charger EV.
And ppl say that EVs are boring. This and the Maserati GT Folgore prove otherwise. I also believe that the Dodge Charger EV and Ioniq 5 N are proof of that too, but apparently no one else agrees for some reason
EV and car enthusiasts do go together, the problem is most people aren't car enthusiasts, just noise enthusiasts. EVs can be driven hard without fear of breaking thousands of moving parts and don't waste 60% of their fuel energy as heat and noise. Their low CG also makes them relatively tossable and the instant response makes them fun.
I knew this car when i filling up a garage filled with Electric cars and bikes in Gta 5 online And this car, got me motivated to have a E bike and a aspiration to have this car
Sure it might have all the tech But.... It will NEVER EVER have a glorious internal combustion engine It will NEVER have the slick gearbox off a 911 It will NEVER sound like a car meet on a Friday night
I think too many people miss the point of why a real car enthusiast is perceived as dismissive of EVs; no engine. I really can’t comprehend why this doesn’t add up for some car people. This thing is a toy for the ultra wealthy, or even the modestly well-off who care if has many fancy features. It is not a traditional car, it’s a revolutionary form of transportation. So until there are EV enthusiasts who are not ALL about the gimmicks, the Uber-luxe branding, or future tech “lifestyle” of their car, this thing will probably remain a nifty but expensive trinket for a poser car enthusiast.
But car enthusiasts are usually into sports cars, which are by definition toys for the wealthy. I’m not sure you have a point here when one of the main draws of EVs is saving on both maintenance and fuel costs, both things that rich people don’t need to worry about.
i don’t think most people realize things about EVs: 1. the sound they make is from external speakers 2. the sound is required by law 3. the actual electric motors make almost no noise
How tf is anyone here saying this sound incredible? Create an EV that produces REAL/AUTHENTIC sound from the car that is comparable to a v8 or higher and then maybe you can rightfully call that an EV for enthusiasts. The sounds of ICE cars is not just about the sound, its also about the experience and feedback of a car, not some fake digital noises added on or just instant torque
It's actually amazing how much that one shift combined with the noise makes it sound and feel a lot more like an internal combustion vehicle. Maybe the future's going to be okay.
