I feel bad for your comments section :') Thanks for the shout out! And as mentioned, the Chao Modding Documentation is being cleaned up now and being sent to proofreaders to verify and provide input on making the guides as clear as possible. The Example Character Chao code is already on my Github repository for people who want a sneak peek of the code. This is a sign of things to come! We're soon to be in the dawn of a new age for Chao.

These developments have gotten me interested in making some custom Chao of my own! I don’t have much (if any) coding experience, but I’ve been interested in making my own mod for a while, so I’m very excited for the future of Chao Modding!

The custom chao is definitely taking in a new direction! Hopefully we’ll see more types and similar characters to sonic characters, I think I’d like to see a blaze, cream and silver chao versions!

No, but this was part of 9.5's release. We worked hard on documenting the Character Chao part of the API so that people can create them. It's been out for a while, but no one has really documented how to make them until now.
