John, I just discovered you and I'm so impressed with your playing and teaching. Already learned a lot of new stuff and I've been playing since 1967! (yes, I'm 71 and still gigging). You have also validated my go to amp, a 1970 silver faced Deluxe Reverb! Thanks so much for your commitment to teaching.

Nice choice of amp! I recently bought a Fender 68 Reissue Vibro Champ (5 watt) Absolutely love it, unreal tonality and response. My favourite…and don’t be fooled by the 5 watts. 😂

Hello Jon. I just purchased the new Fender 1X12 Tone Master Deluxe Reverb Amp. Using a massive digital processing power to achieve a single a single remarkable sonic feat. 22 watt power output. uses a single Jensen N-12K neodymium speaker. Another feature it weighs 24 lbs about half the weight of the all tube Deluxe. This Amp sounds identical to the tube version. It has two inputs for the Normal Channel. It has Two inputs for the Vibrato and Reverb channels. I really Love the sweet tones this amp Provides,

I recently picked up a Pro Junior IV SE and an American Vintage II Telecaster Custom with a rosewood board. I too have been looking for my perfect amp

I bought a 1973 Deluxe Reverb about 16 years ago. I was at a music store and the kid was trying to sell me on a Vox solid state modeling amplifier. I didn't like it at all, I plugged my LP P90 guitar into and it DIED as I was playing it, LOL. DEAD amp. I said, look don't you have any TUBE amplifiers in here? He said yeah we got this old Deluxe Reverb over in the corner, he seemed embarrased that they even had one. It had a blown speaker and the price was like around $400. They put a crappy screechy Jensen speaker in it and I bought it. Bought a good Weber speaker when Ted was still alive and OMG OMG OMG, I played that amp for 8 years at blues jams. I put a negative feedback switch on the back that added some beautiful treble gain and a vibrato disconnect switch for even a little more gain. I left my amp onstage for the jammers to play through and every one of them commented on what a great amp it was. Well, now its worth around $2000! Even so they are still better than any of these gimmicky "reissues" that aren't actually reissues of anything, They are PC board, cheaply built junk. Certainly they won't be last FIFTY YEARS, like mine has. So, then I bought a 1973 Princeton Reverb, it had been used as a church PA amplifier, poor thing. FANTASTIC AMP! THEN I found a Vibroluxe Reverb 1973, did a blackface easy mod and put in a bias pot. INCREDIBLE AMPLIER. You just can't go wrong with these Silverface amps and they are only going to gain in value over time. All point to point wiring, very easy to mod in many ways if you want. Tube them up with JJ preamp tubes but buy the best NOS power tubes you can find and they will sing like angels for decades to come. Never ever going to sell mine until I'm near dead.

They are great amps, but my inexpensive Vox AC15C1H sounds better to me, and others have agreed, but to each their own.

I love the sound of a Tele or Strat plugged directly into a Fender tube amp. I don’t have vintage amps like you, but I have a circa 1990 Fender Blues DeVille 2x12 that sounds absolutely amazing with a strat and a touch of tank reverb, plus a Fender Bassbreaker 007 that I’ve been using as my main studio amp for years. Can’t beat Fender at their own game! Love your playing btw!

My most used amp is a hand wired Rivera Fender Princeton from early 1980. Twice I had to take it to Komet Amplification owners Mike and Holger to work on it. I have a 10 inch Celestion Gold speaker in it and it sounds fantastic. Another amp that sounds super is the 57 Custom Shop Reissue Twin, it has 2 - 12”s, it is kind of heavy but the solid pine cabinet weighs less than the plywood/particle board. I understand why Eric Clapton prefers this amp as it sounds incredible, I use a tube reverb pedal with it. I have a 57 R.I. Deluxe Custom Shop, it will keep up with a loud drummer and sounds great. I have thought about the new Fender hand wired 60’s Black Face Princeton and Deluxe, they are expensive and in the boutique amp price range now.

I might get a 65 reissue deluxe reverb but 22 watts won't work some places that I cant mic the amp. twin reverbs is my first choice but it weighs a ton. hot rods sound harsh and pretty crummy to me. The deluxe reverb is a great sounding amp to my ear, especially vintage, but it's to me basically a great studio amp. I don't know...is it good enough for a larger room with no mic. I doubt it. I don't even know if it can play a little space if it's near a drummer leaning into it.

I have a Princeton reissue 1x12. Turn it up and it farts out. Fenders are really good at that.

Got the blackface Princeton Reverb with bigger tank, 6L6 power and 12" baffle, plenty hound dog on tap with P90, but I have to use at least a 2/12 cab with this setup I use a head DRRI or 4 6V6 Plexi with 2 speakers I can get away with less wattage, also the 2/12 keeps a cap on the volume, enough for headroom and less than 4/12, combo with head in cab will make speakers rattle tubes and electronics, prefer separate head

If you like the vintage fender blackface fender clean tone with headroom, consider a Yamaha G 100 chassis which would install in a 4/10 with vintage Jensen C10Q or 2/12 with vintage Jensen P12 N pair

Hello, you wanted to hear about my rig so I have a Peavey Bandit from the 80's and use a couple of pedals and a Fender Stratocaster. To me this is an awesome sound. Of course I do agree the Fender sound better but the Peavey comes close. A lot of tone comes from the fingers. Thanks for your video.

I finally have gone to solid state QuilterMach 3. It does old Fender as well as an ac30 and old plexi. Weighs 20lbs with 200 watts. And I can run out xlr to the house and sounds as good as any amp I’ve had mic’d up… and I/I’ve had some high $$ amps in my day. Great video BTW!

I went from the Cub w/Fenders to the Mach 3 for more volume. Great amp. My other favorite is the Quilter Steelaire.

I like fender amps, but they’re loud and they don’t have any options to get the tone at lower volumes. I had a Princeton, but at the volumes I play at it just sounded thin. I use a Victory V40 deluxe on the 7 watt setting. If I ever make it to a stage i can flip it to 40 watts. Great amp.
