It was interesting hearing you talk about having to choose a place to stop, to be done editing. I'm a painter, and it's the same thing there. It's so hard not to overwork a piece, but you have to choose a point that the painting is finished. "I'm not making it better, I'm just making it different." I'm going to tell myself that next time.

Pirating books is the worst. My book isn’t even that popular but it was on two websites illegally. I had one of them take it down, but I’m sure there will be many more in the future. It’s so frustrating and it makes me so upset. I’m so glad to hear you’ve slowed down. I want to do that too! I think it’s so easy to get caught up with work and never give yourself a break.

Hi, Katie! I actually haven't been watching your videos in a while. I've been busy with my own writing sometimes it feels like there aren't enough hours in the day. Update on my writing. I am actually getting my debut romance novel ready for publication (I also have a date in November ♥) And right now I am pulling together my cover reveal materials as I am going to be revealing that in September. This is actually one of my completed stories that has sat in the finished pile for a few years now and it was actually the only one I felt is the closest to being ready. Yes, it needed some polishing, but it wasn't as horrible as I was expecting it to be.

I think one of the hardest things is being praised for something that you actually want to stop doing (like hardcore achieving). I feel like one of the things I've had to become okay with is - knowing that "relaxing" may not be "comfortable" in that my brain is going to rather clean the house or accomplish something on my to do list and it will be physically uncomfortable to sit down and make myself not do it, but just like working out, I have to force myself to slow down, relax, do nothing on purpose and hopefully it becomes easier over time as the habit is built. Gosh over achieving burnout recovery is tough and not talked about enough!

gosh I just hit 100k on one of my projects and there's still so much to add, 120k seems to be a likable goal and even that feels small for the amount of work and writing I have left to do.

When you mentioned not enjoying client work the way you used to... I just FROOOOOZE mid lifting-my-tea-to-my-lips. NOOOOOOOOO.... I ve got to speed up because its my DREAM, not kidding my DREAM that you would be my editor!!!!! I would honestly cry if you wouldnt be taking clients by the time I finish. I honestly dont want to make you feel bad, I just have a moment of self-expression. I know that I am pushing myself hard enough.... I really hope I will still finish in time!! 😭💖💖💖

Thank you! Yep, just the windows! I do have a ring light but I haven't used it since I moved. I have a little lamp on my desk though that helps balance out the shadows
