0:43 I like Perun's (the black-and-orange PowerPoint man from the Down Under) version of explaining what the Sejm was like and how it impacted the downfall of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. He basically explained the Sejm as the "EU before it was cool" and the method by which neighboring powers exploited its system to undermine it as the era's equivalent of hybrid warfare.
One of my favourite ever EU4 runs was Teutonic horde for all of the missions giving cav combat ability buffs, then into Poland/commonwealth for the 30% from ideas
Watching people with actual PCs (I currently am stuck with only a laptop...) play on speed 5 is....sobering. My speed 5 probably would be more what everyone else's speed 2-3 looks like...
Poland is indeed super strong and OP early game, but it becomes super boring later on because some of the most crucial missions that get rid of very annoying negative modifiers are only able to be completed by the late 1600s
One of the easiest one faith WC I've done was Poland in 1.36...no exploit or any crazy strat - just start and own the world while having fun. It felt easier than some "stronger" tags (like ottos ,Austria, France, muscovy (even ai Poland owns muscovy )😂 or whatever ) - very lucrative mission tree, brilliant "core" land , good to very good army quality, good expansion routes, quite unlikely to ever care for manpower, monies or even diplo problems. If anything Poland is prime candidate for a serious nerf...
Lol I just started a poland run tonight. PU Lithuania. PU Bohemia with royal marriage claim. +Silesia. PU Hungary with mission tree. +pu croatia inherited. +wallachia conquered. Vassalized Moldavia with event. Isolated teutonic order by conquering the coast, no danzig :( No man power + massive coalition. Totally worth it. We are in the 1460's now 😆
@@GekkeHenkie1313 when did you attack the teutons? The Danzig event can only fire after 1455 i am not sure when but i know you can as a player get crownlands 2 times before it can fire to prevent it as teutons
I just did a similar run, but instead I turned orthodox and went to form Ruthenia keeping Polish Ideas, I had a monster army of Cossacks, Streltsy and Winged Hussars + Quality ideas, the moment my armies made contact with the enemy, they just evaporated, had PU’d all of Eastern Europe, and I’m on my way to PU a Denmark that kept Sweden & Norway. Oh, and also, I have a loyal attack dog in the form of the Livonian Order and an economic Monster in Riga.
I got up to 65% Combat Ability with the Teutons (Holy Horde), I also forgot about the Hussars so it wouldv been even more. They are pretty much the coolest nation in the game period
folks, remember to ally Moldavia before the vassal event, and if you get them as vassal, then transfer to them the occupation of Edirne (or whatever the Otto capital is at that point) so they can kill the good Otto sultan via their mission.
Poland is also the easiest nation outside of central Europe to become the HRE as well. You can easily get it within the first 10-15 years and never lose it.
As a Polish Poland enjoyer, you forgot to fight a war against Denmark to puppet Sweden with the half cost transfer subject CB. I am disappointed with you.
Laith, are you cosplaying as the Habsburgs again? Normally no country would be able to get like 4 PUs in such a short time. Bet Austria is scared now. I wanna see how much you can conquer with the 100% cavalry combat ability. And did the editing change? Its kinda funny. Laith quotes of the day: "Lets not get naval supremacy because we have no boats" "My dog is going mental and doesnt tell me, thats toxic" "I wanna see Gazikumukh dead, and thats a political statement"
