Imagine if your job was to work in such a place, designing and developing these kinds of projects. Now imagine that your job is to research, document and report on these projects. What a dream job you have!
You have made this channel into one of the best car channels online. Simply amazing. Thank you for showing Japan and these amazing machines. We love Japanese culture here in America.
The 90s era JTCC and JGTC cars are the ones I adore the most. Sadly those two racing series got very little air time in the US even long after those series were over but I built many scale models of GT-R's like the famous blue Calsonic R32 just to name one. Love what Built by Legends is doing and I appreciate this channel covering it in such detail.
What an ABSOLUTE trip it was to see myself and my project eg6 inside this video, thank you for using my clip, it seemed to be one of the only low budget clips you used. It's an honor to be in a video with such a prestigious build of an eg!!!!!
what and Amazing build and every bit of detail is gorgeous..also that exhaust is absolutely stunning, but does it negatively affect intake air temps with it being right next to the airbox and intake at all.? i see that there is some bits of heat shielding, but I'm still curious about it.
Oh the EG6! Such an iconic 90s car. This Civic(in a Coupe version) was actually my very first car when I turned 18 and I was able to afford my first car haha.. I'm a Subaru fan now.. but this EG6 is the one that started my big Love for Hondas, the Integra GSR, the Prelude, The Fit and later the beloved S2000. Now this EG6 here is simply sick! Thank you for this video..
When I watch your videos I fall asleep not because they are boring but because they are so well made with the nice melodies from behind and all these Japanese details that remind you of a dream. Thank you for the good work you are doing and I sincerely regret the evolution of the car over the last decade.
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.
as an eh3 owner who bought it from the 1st owner back in 2000, who still has it in his garage as an ongoing project car, this video makes me drool. Can't wait for the update. Arigato.
Sadly when I visited Spoon they didn’t have much for my Mitsubishi, so I went back to the USA empty handed on parts. Type One down the road was pretty damn impressive though, I remember seeing an exhaust just like the one in your video being built. Japan has to be one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been, and I can’t wait to make it back as soon as this corona crap is gone! Also just so we’re clear and for everyone that has never been to Spoon Sports Japan in person. They sell parts for Dihatsu, Honda, Isuzu, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW Mini, Citroen, Fiat, Maserati, Mercedes Benz, Mini (classic), Opel, Peugeot, Renault, and Volkswagen.
well Spoon is well known for their specialty in tuning honda cars, i think they never tune any other car brand aside from honda. But there are many tuning and modification shop in japan that can tune your mitsubishi
Was just one of the many places I stopped by with my friends. I’m honestly not a fan of Hondas. But they did have some random parts for my car. They don’t just sell Honda parts. 🤣
@@r2d2cold9 Nope. Went there for a very fun month long vacation. Just happened to stop by Spoon because my friend has a Honda that he is crazy about, and has always wanted to go look at parts in Spoon in person. All they had for my car was a Rigid Collar Kit for the front and back subframe.
I would love to test drive that car. The exhaust manifold looks amazing and the lower center of gravity and the carbon reinforcements will make a great difference. It’s great to see the 90’s Honda are still alive. I love my S2000, but I also love my CRX Delsol. Both different concepts but really special machines. Well done Spoon as always
Here in Ireland 🇮🇪 Our Rally b16a and b16b and the b16a with b16b crank engines fully built would put out more power than that b18 . We get 230‐250 crank hp depending how you tune it 230hp has more area under the curve and more torque 👌 I'd love to get my hands on a jtcc engine 💙💚💙💚
My fully built and boosted 42psi b20z4 will spank you haha. 1100hp at 1500 lbs curb weight. 6 speed LSD with stage 5 clutch and lightened flywheel and short shifter linkage
A mis 50 años me he comprado un eg5 vti, que no venderé jamás. Me parece la línea más bonita que hay. Y el bloque motor es una obra de arte con su doble árbol. Es un motor de bike para coches. Su sonido es adicto.
I deleted my Instagram because fuck social media but Capt Bradford is a really wise man, extremely knowledgeable and just a cool guy all around. Cheers brother. I remember you asking me about the idea for a channel years ago and you followed through. I love your content brother.
1:57 - 2:15: The spark plug wires go from being the Spoon Sports version to the OEM ones. Fun fact: The Spoon spark plug wires were tested to actually _lose_ power compared to the Honda OEM ones.
Hope so including kazunori yamauchi opera performance Honda S2000 with rare mugen parts etc and yasukichi yamamoto San gather drider n1 super tykyu ek9 race car
Absolutely wonderful video! I really love the information and dedication you all provide. Now I have a greater understanding of why my Tomei powered exhaust is created the way it is 👍🏽
3:22 That car when completed is probably going to be worth $200,000. 6:40 Feedback Dang there's a lot of commercials in this video. 6:41 😍I love all the cars.
that exhaust is absolutely stunning, but does it negatively affect intake air temps with it being right next to the airbox and intake at all.? i see that there is some bits of heat shielding, but I'm still curious about it.
Saw the original video a while back with the build progress. This is awesome! From the carbon fibre strut towers and floor to the Exhaust mani this thing is fire 🔥
Hey Cap, please don't take my comment negatively.i really like your stuff, you are by far the best dude on YT that does reviews of those JDM legends reviews. Could we get some more Toyota stuff plz? I'd also really like a video series on the Toyota X chassis, that would be so awesome
My fully built and boosted 42psi b20z4 will spank any toyata you have . 7.6 second car. 1100hp at 1500 lbs curb weight. 6 speed LSD with stage 5 clutch and lightened flywheel and short shifter linkage
It looks a lot like the JTCC car you have pictured at 16:01 used a reverse flow the engine to allow the use of ITBs and a well tuned carbon fiber induction chamber to produce more power. As mentioned this allows mounting of the engine lower in the chassis.
Yes. That is right. There are almost no photos left even within Japanese media that seems to exist ( perhaps I just haven’t found it yet) or the original 1994 JTCC side flow exhaust. The screenshot of the engine you mentioned is a later version reverse head. Even any shot of the engine of a JTCC EG9 is really hard to come by.
@@visionenippon-captbradford9344 It looks like standard touring car stuff. Somebody read the rules and found that it wasn't illegal to re-mount the engine lower. Using the free space in front of the engine for the larger carbon air box may have been a secondary benefit. Or maybe the induction change was the goal with the lower engine mounting a secondary benefit. Top level touring cars really only look like production cars. Get up close and you'll find everything has been re-engineered for going fast. If the budget is large enough and the rules don't disallow it, the engineers will do it. Ford's BTCC Mondeo V6 had the engine leaned way over to get it low and rearward for similar reasons as Honda did on the flow reverse or side exhaust routing. The BTCC Mondeo raced with a 60 degree V6 but one head pointed up while the other forwards. Exactly nothing like a production car of the same body shell.
@@LZ6U no he talk about the reverse head h22 in the picture show for a couple of second the head is litteraly flipped 180° so the intake face the front of the car and the exhaust face the firewall don't remember why they did this but it some freaking great engineering
When is Spoon and Builtbylegends going to work on Honda Accord CD6, CF4, CL1 and Prelude BA7,BB4, BB6. They have been forgotten, underrated and neglected by the car scene. But they have got so much potential just like the other H cars having the golden VTEC and double wishbone layouts. Hopefully my message will get to them. Can't wait to see they build a proper Accord CD6 like this one and the Prelude as well.
I would gladly wait 2 years to get this done to my 99’ EK and the price would be well worth it, not to mention it would out run most anything on the street.
