don't wanna be that guy but yeah, I thought everyone would try to use chaff grenades first things first the game itself hints at it by throwing around chaff grenades supplies around the area
@@summitier22 Yeah, the best thing to do is to use only melee since he hints that with his dialogue("Only a fool trusts his life to a weapon!") And only use it when he is stunned or when he is in his last phase, where he is sending out shockwaves to fast for you to dodge
I finished the psycho mantis fight with the statues intact and first player port using a FAMAS. You get infinite ammo spawning in the corner of the room.. it takes about an hour but I may have been the first dope when the game came out to do it the wrong way. I just thought it was a super hard boss fight..
@@casedistorted used the combo vs mantis, you can sneak hits by just crawling under him when he's controlling objects to hit you, stand and use combo when the objects are far enough not to hit you.
He also changes colors/how tough he is by how well you played before encountering him. The darker red means harder/you played very well up to that point. Lighter orange color if you were spotted/died alot before his fight.
in Twin Snakes, your melee attacks do more damage if you have a weapon equipped, even if it's just a SOCOM pistol or FAMAS. The heavier the weapon, the more damage it deals. The Nikita deals the most amount of damage, but it uses a different, much slower animation.
I like how this series gives you different options without directly telling you about them all the time. I learned a few tricks like this when I replayed on harder difficulties and had to do more to win
He truly suffering ever since he killed Naomi's parents and ended up being a cyborg ninja. It was very disturbing for me when he keeps saying "Hurt Me More" when health is low
*A piece of scrap metal traveling 5000 miles per hour directly at his neck* Spiderman: no. *a soft squishy fist traveling 30 miles per hour* Spiderman: oh shi-
I did the first time. The second time you play its fun to cheese the bosses. I hit sniper wolf with the Nikita missles in the corner she can't shoot me in almost every time now.
Fought against Fox for the first time with every weapon I had in my inventory and he blocked every one of them at insane speed and I was just sitting there like "holy shitt!!! this guy is invincible wtf do I do??!!!". That's probably the same level of helplessness the enemy grunts must have felt when I fought them as Raiden in metal gear rising lmao.
Toward the tail end of the fight when Gray Fox is malfunctioning and doing his shockwave, you can use guns. It's better to shoot him then run up and get zapped while trying to get in some punches.
Its been 20 years since i did that many playthroughs, i forgot about the spider man outfit. If you come back and use chaff with the unlimited bandanna, he mocks you for depending on a weapon.
This game was awesome ❤. Miss the story and character development in games back then. Im excited for the Metal Gear Solid Collection Vol. 1 in October. The enemies in this game you had to think on how to defeat them, it wasn't just stripping away HP.
Gray Fox looking like Spiderman with all that red is actually him at his hardest. He changes colors based on how well you played before encountering him, no deaths or alerts up to that point he'll be super red like this and be more aggressive, if you got spotted/died a lot before this fight he'll be a much lighter orange color and not as aggressive. It's actually extremely impressive mechanics for a PS1 game although the entire game was decades ahead of it's time obviously.
Isn't that obvious considering that there are chaff grenades you can pick up in the room? Boss fights are never going to give you supplies that you don't need.
You can use weapons on him............in his final dbz powerup phase. I always use the socom on him at the end because it felt like that would be more damaging than a dude, no matter how in shape his is, punching a combat exoskeleton.
You could use the chaff grenade and then shoot him when he's doing his little bubble electrical explosion you can shoot him then as well so you don't have to run in and get knocked down.
Might be greatest game ever made. The story and characters are obviously great, but its the fact that this is a game that does the best at being a game first. All of the content catered around choices, events, curiosity; and so on prove my point. Its the attention to detail is maximized to the fullest. Something selfom found in gaming then and now.
Bruh all of this is common knowledge, it ain't new! Also in codec conversations is hinted to use it so.... Not knowing is not have been paying attention and just blasting through the game. What's next, videos saying did you know you could use port 2 to defeat psycho mantis? c'mon....
