Good idea with the boots! Think that art piece is much better now! Lovely to hear the baby finding his voice too!! Watch this space he’ll be talking into the camera before you know it! 😂
Great idea to recycle the old boots. Love Jouberts little squeals. He is growing fast. Good luck with the planting at your allotment. Hope your weather improves. We are half way through Autumn in New Zealand. Good job with the poem in the frame Gabby. It looks fabulous. Have a good week guys.
Jo is so adorable and cute love his talking it's so sweet.Love your new hair cut jack.I must say Gabby you are lovely.I always enjoy your videos.so looking forward to the next one.☺️☺️🧸
Whowww just luv the hair cut well don lovely vlog has always well done with recycling the wellies and boots how well is Joe coming along luv to you all four from your oldies tc🤗🤗🤗🤗
Great vlog. Gotta say the haircut really suits you. How are you finding the solar providing batteries with enough power ? I marvel that your boat does not have a genny for back up. Very interested in this. Are u going to Crick ? Best wishes.
The hair drama continues! It looks ace by the way (I promise I'm not actually hair obsessed but it has been fascinating for some reason) I'll stop now!
Did you know that Pringles lids fit perfectly on the Gu pots? I know, it makes you keep them but it does make them more useful and airtight 😂. I get told off for finding these things out and not just getting rid of 😬😂
On the last video, making your own Sauerkraut was mentioned. This is very easy, just layer shredded cabbage and salt in a jar or crock, cover the top of the layers with a cabbage leaf, weighed down with a weight and set aside in the dark to ferment. About 4 weeks is all it takes. For the weight, you can put a rock in a plastic bag or fill a bag with water and use that. Make sure there is no air by packing the cabbage tightly in the jar.
Loved the video jack and gabby and loving your haircut jack as it looks smarter around the sides now. It's nice to see how you upcicle things like your old footwear using them to plant strawberry plants in and the love song in a frame was a great idea. As an ex camper we used to do a similar thing to you guys by leaving items we never used at a spot on a campsite for others to use if wanted. Keep up the great videos guys and hope your allotment goes well for you ❤
Lovely vlog and haircut. Joubert is absolutely adorable and growing so much. Lovely to see him looking around and starting to take everything in. Hopefully we will see a lot of the sun over the summer to make up for what seems like a very long, grey and wet winter. x
Nice spring time for tidying up and planting! And the weather is so unpredictable.. Most plants do well, though. Only beans do not like cold temperatures, below 4 degrees. Good luck :)
Aww what adorable little man...Joe has amazing little squeal...wont be long and he will be talking...Gabby that picture turned out cute..What away to get your fresh veggies (Hello Fresh) yum Jack did a wonderful job cookin..look good! Was that a bluebird or a robin?? Im a bird watcher...Have a great week...
Always remember-clutter is not irreplaceable 😊l ‘ve found hand tailored suits in bins and whole toolkits in skips and have moved about 20 times and still l have too much stuff 😂
"One mans garbage is another mans gold"! One needs to decide on what are wants and what are needs. Happy boating guys. Do stay warm. Mark Alberta, Canada
I'm sure you know this ... but, in case you don't: if you know you are going to be using the same paint for a second coat in a day or two, and you want to save on washing the brush, wrap the bristle end tightly in cling film. It slides neatly off the brush when you are ready to go again and the brush - normally - acts as if you hadn't stopped painting. It'll last for several days that way - which is helpful if you happen to be of a procrastinory (?) nature.
Hi Guys. What a great Vlog. Do you have to move from your present mooring, seems like you've been in the same place for some time know. We love you 😍 xx
I love sorting out and donating items for a worthy cause. Unfortunately I am not a minimalist by any means. Wish I was, but I am married to a packrat. So anytime I try and give stuff away, he has to go through everything first and complain about it. However, I have loved this man for 42 years! So, it is what it is.
We do the same thing here in America too, and sometimes we put right out in front of our homes, then place a small sign that says FREE! It is normal here too!
Another great video love to see the little one he is growing fast a question with haveing a small plot for growing food for the pot does that you won't be cruising 😊
Isn't he just! It takes away any huge adventures but we're still hoping to do some cruising this year. Luckily you can spend days cruising and still get within a ten minute train journey on the canals back to the home plot 😅
One never has enough time to get things done, but once you get started it works 😉. My motto most of the time is: get shit done first 😅. I like your new haircut, looks so fresh and so young 😊. Joubert is so sweet, loved the hat on him. Take care
Love the hair cut. It’s been such a wet winter and is a cold wet spring too I bet it gets you down. I always say there’s no where nicer than a river or canal in summer. Little Jo is adorable. loved this vlog. xxxx
No judgment from me on your kitchen. We did phase one of our kitchen remodel about thirty-five years ago. Phase two is still in limbo because we can't agree. Meanwhile we've raised five children and have now bought a retirement home. This crazy kitchen will be someone else's project!
I swear when you buy things from the charity shop, you get back to the boat and it’s doubled in size 😂 lovely video as always ❤ we remain jealous and inspired by your cinematography
Thanks for the videos! Lovely to see incredibly cute baby Jo! Terrific haircut Jack! Gabby’s a gorgeous Mum with amazing calm (they call it cool here!). Sadly it’s cold & wet here, but lotsa Spring flowers & birds singing! Hugs xxx
I just found your channel, whilst searching all things narrowboat related, what a gift! Just a few thoughts: first, are you allowed to grow stuff on the towpath next to your boat like that, second, do you stay moored up there all the time or do you continuously cruise (first video of yours Ive seen so i should probably check out the others for the answer to that), third, your baby is so sweet, what issues are there raising an infant on a narrowboat compared to in a house.
Thank you for finding us and saying hi!! We have a permanent mooring and are allowed bits on the towpath to a certain extent (we do need a bit of a tidy up really!!!) We're going to do a video about how we've found raising a baby onboard in the next few weeks 😊 x
Ooooo Gabby. Did someone take notice of someone saying something about Jacks Hair ? Or did the Robin try and make a nest in it Lol 😂. Looks Smart. Take no notice of the negative Nancy comments about Hello Fresh,we all understand how advertising works and how it helps your channel,my son regularly gets stuff from them too and he loves it,me I quite enjoy going shopping for the ingredients and seeing as I don’t have a new born child, I have a lot more time. I know I would have loved a food meal delivery service when my adult sons were kids, would have been a life saver 🤷♂️. I think Jack was right about your squished Hat being put in the charity box,the other wider brim one suited you better and it would be better for when you are cruising, especially if it rains .
Robins and bluetits have to eat a quarter of their body weight every day just to survive. Mealworms are their favourite food so thats why they’re visiting you often. I just love them and like you encourage them to my bird feeders. Love your vlogs, such a lovely couple and little Joe is as cute as a button.
Have you considered using some tile, or stone type product on the wallmbehind your cooking area? Not only is it fore proof but much easier to clean from cooking than wood and wont stain through time as wood will with that kind of use. ❤
I have used Gorilla Glue many times to save “ broken” shoes…I have shoes that are 30 years old that I still wear…used your new “ bird cage” to store your paint brushes so that you can find them😂
I do so enjoy your vlogs. There is something that occurs to me that I feel I must have missed something. I have just realised that you don't seem to be moving. Are you on a permanent mooring?
Love your in the moment lifestyle and an allotment for future yield. Baby Jo is growing well , but my one concern was nothing yet to eat by 12? and feeding him. 😊
The weather is so unpredictable! Just wanted to know how you manage with no curtains or blinds? Your boat looks cosy and i enjoy watching you cooking.😊
So glad you understand what YOUR motivation buttons are! Having just gone thru the great purge after a house fire and rebuilding a house 1/3 the size we continue to purge, ah-we call it refine, sounds better. Your set the timer is great -there is an end in sight and IF you want to continue you can. Persistance is the key. Don't wear yourselves out or you wont want to get back at it and keep it up. Here in the US we have the same kind of system- not trash, but I don't need to keep it. We have a yard and live outside of town so many things go onto the front yard and disappear thru the day. You get to set your own rules-but maybe only make decisions for your own stuff.....? Would a system of fold down shelves, tables, etc give you the flexibility your small space needs?
The posh pudding glass pots are fabulous for dips, especially as Pringles ( once you pop, you can't stop crisps 😂 ) lids fit snug. Bring on the sunshine, am desperately keen to get our no dig veg beds planted up. Happy corridor living, from another boater.
So cute , he's growing up , love all the food planting, I'm vegan and going to take over part of my mum's allotment as her mobility is not so good now, looking forward to the next video , you make me smile x
Focus only on what feels right to you and you can't lose your way at all. You both make lovely videos with the help of your two co-pilots, of course. You don't need any of us to tell you what to do, only you know what works for you.
Loved this vlog! Just seeing what you get up to in normal daily life and seeing a bit of everything. Plus getting to see more of the baba and his adorable personality coming through 🤗🥰
