Great video! You made it to Zhujiajiao finally. I was thinking of recommending this place but worried that you might not have enough time for your 144 hour visas. Next time you visit China you may want to visit West Lake in Hangzhou (50 mins away from Shanghai on HSR), which is more beautiful.

Regarding flute, because it is a game made in Japan. In fact, during the period when Japanese anime was popular, many were adapted from Chinese legends, such as "Records of the Three Kingdoms" which is a historical story of China. For example, in Journey to the West, it was changed to Dragon Ball. Many characters in the animation also use traditional Chinese stories.

I'm so blessed to see this interesting ancient town, Zhujiajiao, which is known as the Venice of Shanghai on your video. Truly appreciate you both capturing those breathakingly beautiful footages....love those amazing old buildings. Yeah, those bread twisters are super yummy, a good snack indeed. Aaah...great you both like that Chinese sticky rice dumpling which is called "Zongzi". It's wrapped in bamboo leaf. That old man on the bridge is playing a very famous Chinese song, titled "Shanghai Bund" with his "erhu", a traditional Chinese musical instrument. Another fantastic video with great content. Thanks a bunch for this awesome China series, Steve lvana.

Zhongi is not dumpling at all. the closest to it is Tamale in Mexico. watercress is called western vegetable to identify it's from elsewhere. Erhu, the 'hu' identified it is from the near east.

@5:15 Lovely that you mentioned the Qing dynasty! Can't resist sharing some bits of Chinese history: Ever since the very first Qin 秦 (without a G) imperial dynasty's founding in 221BCE, the Chinese dynasties continued one after the other, for over a 2000 year period. Sometimes minor dynasties co-existed with the major one of the time, but whenever one fell, China would always be re-constituted by another -- ever-continuing. The last one as you mentioned, was the Qing 清 (with a G). Ending with a transition to a modern-style government in 1912, thus ending over 2000 years of the dynastic tradition, but also marking a new chapter for the civilization. Of course, if one considers the Zhou 周 dynasty, that takes you back to 1045 BCE, and if the Shang 商 before that, 1600 BCE. And if the earliest as per the Chinese historiographical tradition, but contended among historians, the Xia 夏 preceded the Shang.
