@18:55 i have caught an interesting glitch in vlog stats ... i wont call it a flaw as i have caught many in vlogs on countries by other vloggers... the glitch is ... in 2019 HAJJ (next door in Saudi Arabia) happened in AUGUST which is 2019 H2 or in words as per @18:55 here later 6 months... whereas in 2023 HAJJ happened in JUN ie though borderline 6th month (26th Jun to be precise) but HAJJ attracts 2+ million pilgrims i.e. the person who will actually perform it.. now count the family members who r religiously not qualifying or have done already will stay in UAE and chill out till say dad returns from Saudia ... I'm a middle class citizen of Dubai. I pay 70,000AED (19,000USD) per year for my 1 bedroom apartment 15 min from the Palm. I'm not sure where he took this number of 67,000USD for rent in here , but that's not what middle class people pay. All of my friends pay around the same as me in rent. And as for the workers in lower class , most of them come to UAE with already provided accommodation in their contract

I am an Aussie currently living in Dubai. Listen to what these you tubers say but don't take it too seriously. 1. Most people living in Dubai are just normal people living normal lives everyone from the labourer from Bangladesh, to the Filipino in the shops to the European working in a white collar job. It's not as crazy as RU-vid's would make you believe. 2. Ask yourself where is the video creator based? It's likely they have never visited Dubai/UAE nor have lived here. 3. It's a tax haven...not true its a low tax country for companies it's not the wild west the banks and government do ask a lot of questions. I have first hand experience with this here.

I resigned from a top job here in dubai and went to USA and returned sooner than i prepared to go there in 2008 the year this video says that dubai went bust. While the rest of the world suffered worse than dubai they stood resilient. In 2024 I'm still here. The main buyers of real estate in Dubai are Indians, British and Russian. Whilst the Indians have their own system of money laundrying that is almost undectectable and a good reason to do it (Tax fraud) the real estate market will remain healthy. What you overlooked is the political aspirations of the Emirates. Many observers believe that in the not too distant future, Dubai will succumb to rule by Abu Dhabi, in fact it slowly is through both private and public purchases of Dubai's assets. Dubai's biggest apparent earner is Emirates Airlines. A pearl in the crown so as to speak. Keep an eye on its future.

Listen, I live in Dubai for the last 17 years, additionally, I work in finance. Few things I want you to understand, Abu Dhabi & Dubai are cities in the same country, which means they will help Dubai, that is internal affairs, second thing, Dubai have options, if you want to live expensive, or to live like most of south east citizens living with very little spending, finally, the city survived real crisis, why they would continue thriving now when there are no financial crisis for real.

Climate change will make UAE unsuitable to sustain human life in a not too distant future. Hyperthermia starts at around 40C. Rising sea levels will take care of the rest. I’ve been to Dubai many times and have friends there but the concept of building a mega city in the desert is a flawed concept and UAE will eventually have less oil money as the dependency in oil will decrease.

But the government is smart and they always work on new strategies how to make life here work well and attract new investments etc ..

World population is on the rise every day, hour, minute and every second. As long as population rise, Dubai and countries where there is law and peace will flourish. Those who have already moved, started businesses, kids going to schools, best food and easy commute across the globe will think 2ise to leave. Dubai economy will only sink, if there is big conflict reaching to dubai territory. Which we hope shouldn't happen soon.
@jameschalupa6911

Horribly bias. It's called competitive advantage. Countries are allowed to be tax competitive, that is not a crime. Less tax, more freedom why not. What these global governance organization want is to control emigration (loss of citizens to another country) due to their own countries poor economic mis-management. If people have the means to move and are treated better somewhere else then they have the freedom to move! Emerging countries will attract talent by ensuring they are tax competitive to other first world countries. Developing nations are the place to be. You want to talk about Government Debt to GDP, look no further than the USA 130% and Canada 107% - we wont even talk about Japan at 200+% !!! Debt to GDP in UAE is one of the smallest at 38.3 % !! They have more than enough revenue to pay debts, they are no where near fully leveraged compared to other countries and have increases taxes in places to remain well below other countries reckless spending. Becoming a tax-resident of another country to reduce your tax obligation is not Tax Evasion, it's Tax Avoidance and it's legal and smart. If I move from, lets say, Australia to Brazil and the tax rate is 10% less in Brazil where I now live and work now, then I pay 10% less to the Brazilian government and Australia receives nothing. Simple. Dubai is no different, they just have a Personal Income Tax of 0%. They are growing their economy and taxing people via other means via VAT/ GST for example. There are like 30+ countries around the world that offer new migrates major tax breaks to move. The average person just never spends any time looking into it !!

So during 2023 Dubai lowered its debt from 50% to 25%?! That is enormous. Not aware of any country that has done something similar. So that begs the question, Why is Dubai's debt level a risk at all? First of all, if it continues repaying at the same pace as in 2023 it could pay off all its debt in one year and, second, 25% percent debt is very low compared internationally anyway.

I am not sure if new comer will be able to sustain the higher cost of living. Without an educated working class you can't run a city. However, I guess same is the case everywhere now a days. As someone from Dubai I would like to add on some points. The real estate prices in Dubai right now are the same as of 2014. Inflation alone should say that the prices of 2024 should be 2.5 x the prices of ten years before. Add on to it the factors of population growth. Dubai has doubled its population since 2019. So price hikes are bound to happen. That said is it a bubble? But the prices being offered are forward calculated two years from now. So if Dubai does show the same growth it has shown for the next two years these prices would be justified otherwise it would fall by close to close to 20%

Dubai already seems to be addressing the issue of shortfalls by planning out ahead and working with a lot of the expats and foreign residents to establish a compromise on taxes. I think everyone coming there for relief understands a place like Dubai doesn't run on pixie dust or the wave of a magic genie's hand. The infrastructure needs upkeep and helping the city they choose to reside in isn't outside the scope of their goals and/or ability. Finding a comfortable level that everyone can agree to will take some time, but the current 9% being rolled out isn't too great a fee and it'll take a few years to see if the managerial administrators will use that level of $$$ properly. I agree that Dubai can't expand and grow forever. Resources are strained and its the scarcity that helps it keep up the real estate price levels and the mystique of being lucky to be there. As long as all parties concerned (UAE, Dubai local govt., and visitors) don't get greedy and try and overreach on each other, it might not be so bad as 2009.

@@The.Machiiine They bought apartments there before they even broke ground?
@The.Machiiine
@The.Machiiine 3 месяца назад
@@glennjanot8128 yes. Before a project is allowed to start building, a majority % of the units have to be pre sold. Because prices kept rising, a lot of agents and speculators would buy up units on paper (construction plans), with deposit only, assuming they could sell them before the final closing (balance$ due), and make a profit. I think it’s called “assignment purchase/sale”. The condo market is now, finally, breaking, and they are slowing dramatically in sales units, and usually at a price loss, if they were purchased at the peak of market a couple years ago.

yeah and there's still plenty of Dubai land to build only further away from the sea. people should skip to the last two min. of the video where the truth is. While it is true that Dubai has a fragile economy without exports, there are small countries that still thrived due to their trade and tourism industries like Singapore and Hongkong. The worst case scenario for Dubai is to have tourism during winter which is enough due to plenty nearby rich countries with cold climates.

The video is making valid points also. Dubai is adding corporate tax of 9 percent. The next step which is also rumored is income tax. Dubai doesn't produce oil like abu dhabi. They have been in debt, interesting to see how they navigate it.

So in 2023 this phenomenon is what this vlog is saying at @18:55 .. but UAE as stay over before n after hajj is a popular religious+tourism all in one package for the pilgrim and family.

The big problem with Dubai is the lack of water that has to be brought in trucks from far away, the sewage that has to be sent also in trucks to deep sea water so the city don't stink to high heaven and the super hot climate that has to be heavily refrigerated as to be humanly bearable and Dubai hás no oil reserves. So to keep Dubai running it will require more and more money till Dubai becomes unfeasible, not viable. Who knows, Antartica may becomes the New Dubai with global warmth.
