High protein breakfast makes me feel so much better than when I used to eat carbs in the morning. Thank you guys for all your great advice and your great programs.
You all have been amazing for me! I’m 5’ 11” and over the last 16 months I’ve gone from 257 lbs to 199lbs! More importantly through your diet and exercise advise I’ve done it sustainably for longevity, building muscle and getting leaner! I just finished up Phase I of MAPS Anabolic and I love it! Can’t wait to move on to Phase II next week! MAPS Aesthetic would be a great next step for me!
So many great points and Sal was bringing the good messages! The importance of protein (although I still think the protein from meat is ideal over plant protein in a cereal.) The shout out to respectful hunters, the importance of grazing animals and the loss of carbon from the soil (thanks to big Ag). Stoicism as a parent and allowing our children to be heard...Good job guys!
Its crazy because for the last few years I don't really eat different foods for different meals.. will eat steak or pork with eggs for breakfast, similar meal for dinner... "breakfast foods" are a marketing ploy to get people to buy certain processed foods I think.. Great content guys, keep it up!
Authentic and human, only y'all can talk about MRI and sex toys in one sentence. Keep up the real commentary, y'all are definitely the leaders in the fitness podcast market.
You guys just smash the clarity in your communication better than any others in this space - honest, fair and reasoned conversation that is a blend of the science and the real world
Trying to go off advice, went on a weight loss journey went from 355 to 197, we did keto, i looked just weird with my frame so i went back up to around 240, been working out, trying to stay on more protien side problem is i get full quick and can basically eat 2 times a day when if anymore i end up feeling just either too full or bloated, if i coukd afford an actual plan i would, maybe some day, love the pod cast and helpful tips, ivappreciate you guys!
The most heartbreaking documentary that I've ever seen is Waiting for Superman. It talks about the public school system and how many children get left behind. It's definitely worth viewing but make sure you have a box of Kleenex nearby.
I probably can’t handle it, but will consider watching. Thank you for sharing. I want to be informed but have to take it in doses. The animal and farming industry documentaries have about done me in for sorrow. I follow accounts and blogs that portray what’s happening in real time across various industries and captivity issues. Politics and money are deeply connected. It’s a lot to take in. I have worked in state agencies for families and DV shelters; what some people and children go through is heartbreaking.
Two for the price of one! My two favorite podcasts: Mind Pump and any true crime podcast woven together! Perfection! Never know what I may hear on this show! 💪☠️❤
I was locked in a walk-in cooler (not freezer) for about an hour. Made the mistake of cracking a beer about 10 minutes in. One of the most miserable experiences of my life
MRI technologist here. I haven’t worked in the field for a while but seeing that image made my heart sink into my stomach. I’ve had a few scary incidents where people accidentally brought a MRI incompatible object in the room, but thankfully nothing like that. I hope that person is okay.
Hearing you guys talk about the Arby's employee freezing to death reminds me when I used to do temp work and worked prepping airline food. It was fun to work in there and move from refrigerated areas to the giant freezer. Those walk in freezers get to you even if you have the proper clothing and I'm sure she didn't have the right clothing. Even propperly clothed, I only wanted to be in there for no more than 15 minutes because it starts to hurt your sinuses.
I grew up in an agricultural area. My neighbor was an agro acientist who said that a happy animal produced more milk, grew faster, put on weight faster and better and were healthier overall. The "feedlots" were actually quite nice. This was Canada, i am not sure about the US but this has been known for a long time. I think there is a lot of bs out there about the mistreatment of conventiallly raised meat.
Grateful for yet another podcast, listening to these everyday makes me feel as though I know you guys 😂 just become a daily part of my routine when doing work or even working out !
Serrano vs. Priest in 1971 kicked off the problems we have now with our school system. The argument was that kids were not at fault as to what neighborhood they were born in, so California had a responsibility to provide equal education to every child. It used to be that your property taxes went directly to the school your child attended if you had children. So California took those property taxes, put them in the general fund instead and started their plan of all schools having equal funding. 1978 prop 13 was introduced as a result of this, people didn't want to fund other kids schooling, they wanted the benifet that came with their elevated income. So school funding was cut around 60% as a result. Schools can still benifet from fund raising and other ways to work around the system to provide that benifet, so that's how the disparity continues. Additionaly because of the cuts, prop 98 was passed to provide at least 40% of the general fund as a floor, but it is often the ceiling. And with several things being pulled out of the general fund before the 40% gets calculated it's often less. I think at this point trying to repeal prop 13 is a non starter, so I don't think the school system gets fixed at this point. On the bright side, if AI is able to deliver on education in the future, maybe the cost to get an education goes down enough that the current funding meets the need. Here's looking forward to technology once again creating more effencencies.
A walk-in refrigerator is about 30 something degrees, a freezer is -0. But any walk-in freezer at a retail establishment should have a safety mechanism on the inside so you can get out and if it doesn’t the family could sue for millions. But at this point it’s not about the money it’s a terrible loss.
Been trying to get myself into a rhythm for meal prep and such. Just been struggling to manage my time with 4 kids in the house and all their needs, but I definitely feel like I'm falling a little short on my Protein needs - I'm weighing in at 270lb and wanting to hit about 250, but usually hit about 180g Protein daily.
Afternoon mind pump brothers! I have a metal plate in my face, and even though I've been told that it's not the kind of metal that is affected by MRI scans, I can't help but feel like I'm gonna be dangling from the bloody machine by my face when they turn it on. Hasn't happened yet thank fuck! Just received my new copy of the resistance training revolution and looking forward to reading it. Have a blessed day lads 👊🏼💪🏼🙏🏼☀️
Omg a butt plug 🔌 lol. There are ppl on IG that always say 1 out of 3 ppl have a butt plug in. I guess a lot of ppl walk around with butt plugs. I love the oils silver cavity fillings. I’ve had 5 MRI’s done between my shoulders ( 3 times separated and tire both labrum’s and right cuff and my oars joint is broke off in both sides, the MRI did not mess with metal fillings. Great show guys. I love your show. I watch this show twice a day. I’ll watch the new episode and an old episode I missed. You 3 are the best in game
Such amazing content all the time! Adam, great advice for the incline bench press. That took me so long to figure out and I’m finally seeing some growth in my chest at 37 years old. Also i see that watch you’re rocking👌. Congrats to you all on your successes so far and moving forward.
I definitely want to live in that neighborhood! I’m totally down for a slip n slide commuter ride from house to house 😅 You guys are seriously the best n always make me laugh. Idk what I would do without this podcast n the mountains of info I learned from listening to all the episodes. I’ll be a subscriber till I’m in my 90s n can’t hear y’all anymore lol….or until I’m 150 cuz Dave Asprey was right n we all can biohack our way to 150! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You guys are awesome! I had my first MRI a couple months ago, for a blown ACL. The tech asked if my leggings were Sweetflexx. Huh? Sweetflexx are leggings with metal resistance bands in them! I have to imagine that MRI techs found that out the hard way! 😯
Just got to the MRI bit in the show 😬 I used to work as an anaesthetic assistant and we had to anaesthetics for MRI's for small children and for ICU patients. The magnetic fields work differently depending on what the metal is. So steel is really strongly affected and is super dangerous, whereas when I was doing my MRI safety training they had a big chunk of aluminum and that you could go into the MRI room and "play" with the magnetic field (obviously when there wasn't a patient in there) and you could move it one direction but the magnetic field wouldn't let you move it in all directions. I hope that person is ok because wow that is so so dangerous having that inside you and going near a strong magnetic field like that! The metals they use for joint replacements will show as a bright shadow on an MRI so they can't see stuff around it, but it wont move it round in a dangerous way
In my opinion, the only good flavor of magic spoon is the fruit loops. It’s too expensive for a tiny box. They could probably sale it for half the price and still make a profit, the only reason it’s so expensive is because of the niche market
Hearing that protein before sugar is healthiest is one of those, "Huh, how interesting," moments followed quickly by the realization that our culture has, for at least hundreds of years (if not longer, I'm not sure), institutionalized sweet desert as a meal course that happens only after the main course.
Adam “protein first kids “ just having reinforcing conversation w/ my 6yo daughter about prioritizing protein - then bam 💥 “ perfect timing “Protein first kids”! She rolled her eyes at me ! 😂 She loves her magic spoon and keto bricks for snacks .
I have been listening for the past month and a half and you have all helped me so much in my health journey. I was on keto and going through a crazy cutting phase of 700 calories a day with intense cardio until I plateaued in weight loss. Because of your videos I learned about reverse dieting, heavy lifting, how to deal with my fears of weight going up on the scale and what it means to be healthy and have balance. I’m relatively fit and getting stronger every day because of your inspirational and logical advice, I even stopped weighing myself daily and counting calories and am just eating healthy Whole Foods and have been consistently working out and enjoying the process. Thanks guys!
My dad still eats grape nuts to this day 😂 for the dairy cow I bet it deals with oxytocin, they get the feel good hormone when they hear their name. Where I live in Texas , you can go to different public schools. You have to pay , but it's not expensive. It's not like private school tuitions.
Love the talk on high protein diets and the poor education system where you can’t “choose” where you child can be educated. GOOD teachers are so underpaid it’s such a shame!! OMG so true about LMNT ever since I started drinking it I feel more thirsty and I already drink a gallon a day and I’m only 105 lbs 😂 Thanks for another entertaining podcast 🔥.
hey guys, recently became a full-time stay at home father to a child with a disability, I have trained for 8 years at the gym however, getting to the gym is now impossible ☹. Is it possible to continue making progress using bodyweight exercises, light weight dumbbells (up to 24kgs) and resistance bands only? . I still want to continue my fitness journey but I cant spend $$ on gym equipment because I need to prioritize my sons needs first
I completed anabolic with good results, and am now in phase 1 of performance. I would love to try aesthetics next… by the way the programs plus an improvement with my nutrition has helped me drop 390lbs since February 2023☺️!
-14 degrees at the frozen waterfalls in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, naked as a jaybird for a photo shoot is the coldest experience I’ve ever been through. 10/10 DONT recommend 😂
17:41 when I worked with a restaurant they had like a double freezer going on, the first one was normal cold then there’s a door at the back and the second one was -40 f
Growing up, my mom make me waffles with powdered sugar on it… a lot, especially if I put it in. 😂😂I was never overweight though. I found Magic spoon at Target yesterday. Bought peanut butter. Can’t wait to try
Did the person in the ice cooler not have their cell on them? Unless they were the only closing person couldn't you text at least to coworkers?? Most people I know have their phones strapped to them.
Great show! Very relatable and really like the parenting tips. just started reading Redirecting Children's Behavior by Katherine J Kvols so its really cool and ironic hearing you discuss these topics. Ty!
Magic Spoon will be a life saver. I love my morning cereal and havent had it or milk in months. I will definitely try it out! I also have been snacking on Twin Peaks Protein Puffs, curious if the community has any thoughts on those puffs?!?
Feel like jogging in place and Wim Hof breathing would’ve saved the Arby’s Freezer incident. It would only be 12 hours or so since they close at what? 9 open at 9 or 10? But Wim Hof runs shirtless in Antarctica. And has swam 50m in ice water up there (down there)
How long does it take to get strong?!?? I can't even lift 50 lbs is too much weight for me 😓 even 30 lb is heavy when doing lower body exercises ,, how is it that women who are shorter than me can lift 100 lb and I can barely lift 30lb??? What am I doing wrong??? Do I just need to give myself more time? I've only been strength training a year-and-a-half but in the beginning I made a lot of mistakes but I think I'm getting the hang of it now but I'm still so weak
I remember being 12 years old at a concert in Omaha and seeing the four guys on stage playing their instruments and rocking out. They had long hair and rocked the mid-west look. Seeing them bounce about while 30+ years older than me made me wonder what I would be like as an adult, such as whether I would be in good shape, be really manly, have long hair, etc. I think my 12-year-old self would be pretty happy with who I've become. Probably happier than my current 34-year-old self about who I've become. I'm very happy with who I am and what I've accomplished (in a good place and having started an incredible family while maintaining my athleticism and youthful creativity!), but there's still so many ways in which I feel I've fallen behind and have yet to accomplish what I should have already. Which also makes me wonder if I could see my 56-year-old self, would I be happy about what I will become? I sure hope so!
I've been big my entire life, and my calves are too big, is it possible to shrink my calves ? I grew up on a big hill and walked up it everyday on my tip toes so they were and are too big. My calves are the siE of a normal person's head
Man, you guys are making me want to comment so much on this episode. Not all plates do you need to worry about. I have a titanium plate and they aren't concerned over that. I still mention it everytime, just in case.
Live fruit ninja 😂with a real samurai sword! That would be epic! I know the facts but I find it really challenging to eat protein first thing in the morning besides eggs and bacon or sausage. Also if you guys had a city people would pay a lot to live there!
