For those who saying that’s expensive and bullshit … we all know as a tourists..locals are trying to make a living 150 dinars is less than 50$ and it’s nothing for someone who’s gonna take half a day and being nice … they guy even refused to buy him cigarettes… y’all chill out the man had an amazing experience
Hey Chris! Just found your channel and I've been binge-watching these videos about Tunisia. So glad you're enjoying your time here! If you ever decide to come back, feel free to reach out! Always helps having a local tag along.
Hi Chris I watch all your videos very cool but what the guy said about Libya I am from Libya in my city is called Benghazi it is very safe nobody tell you is bad it’s fine now The capital city is Tripoli I wish one day you can visit and see by yourself you will enjoy it so much🇱🇾🌹
Beautiful content keep going 😊 and you are welcome in our Tunisia ❤❤❤❤ But next time make sure to take public transport bcz the man that gives u the deal to take u to el jem was so greedy such a shame I’m shocked as a Tunisian we are so sorry for that but it’s ok next time keep this in your mind Good luck for u ❤
so basically, yellow taxis in tunisia are not allowed to leave their local district/ area, that taxi isn't allowed to operate outside of sousse for exemple, taht's why he offered you to be taken by his friend on his private car, otherwise there are touristic taxis that are white, you need to have their phone number, they are usually in airoports. Public transportation is a big issue in tunisia, but coming from the us i guess you re not very disapointed xD there are other ways to travel around besides the train (which sucks sadly) there are minibus that have their own station and they leave as soon as they are filled with passengers, so in daytime hours you can get in one at any hour basically and they coast little bit more then the train but they are quite efficient
I have been to Tunisia several times but never been to El Jem. The Colosseum in Rome is touristy, the tour was conducted in a large group, the guides provided a lot of historical information and there’s more statues to view. I wish I can share my photos of Rome for comparison.
The guy got the real traveller energy, u didn't see the best part of Tunisia yet. u can ask if u need any recommendations otherwise enjoy ur time here and i also recommand to try the spicy Harissa with olive oil i think u could enjoy it
I'm from Sousse , the taxi driver called his buddy and he told him you seem nice and you look arabic . Then he asked him if his car paperwork are up to date or not and that you are trustworthy.
you are a very nice guy I am sure that there are plenty of Tunisians who would be delighted to welcome you into their home to introduce you to Tunisian family cuisine and also lots of guys who would be happy to serve as your guides in their respective regions just accept the invitations, as long as you avoid the tourism pros, you won't be asked for money and you will be able to discover the spots off-tour If you are interested and if you are still in Tunisia, answer me privately and I will put you in contact with someone who will help you discover southern Tunisia and the Sahara in a friendly manner
Hey Chris, noticed that you asked if you should call it a Colosseum or amphitheater. The Colosseum in Rome is the only Colosseum, and it was called that because a colossus of emperor Nero stood outside of it for centuries, and the name colosseo was eventually adopted for the building itself. The Colosseum is an amphitheater, as are all other buildings like it. So the one in El Jem is just called the El Jem Amphitheatre. Hope that clears it up for you! In tunisia right now watching this video a day before I go see the same thing!
If your next visit will be by summer, I do recommend Coco Beach Ghar Elmelh located on the utmost extreme north. No it's not The Maldives, it's Tunisia.
