@@janderson947 I think it's because they were getting too old, so it works for the pre-teen scenes they do, but for a little kid who is having nightmares about monsters, they probably wanted someone older.
I think tissue makers should thank this show personally. Every episode is get a box of tissue. Its sad. Its funny till you cry. Its happy so you cry. And yes I've been angry and cried. The whole first season. When Randall found his biological father.
@@mirandareeves8638 The first 2 seasons were DEFINITELY tear jerkers. They've cut down on those types of episodes this season IMO. I think I've cried in about 2 episodes....3 tops. I know Fogelman and the crew are gonna get me crying eventually though lol
"You will not get past me" Randall was so his father in that scene. I can totally see Jack reacting exactly that way. The "I will do anything to stop you. Even if it kills me, you will NOT get to my family"
that would be interesting timing due to her marriage issues surfacing. Circling back to her boyfriend would actually make sense right now. Wonder if he gets hurt and that is why he isn't at their joint birthday party.
I honestly was expecting something random to happen when they showed him walking downstairs to get water, but didn't expect there to be a guy with a knife.
They showed the scene of him breathing heavily in a different preview. Watching this episode I assumed it would be a small breakdown or return of his anxiety. Did not anticipate the guy with the knife. Nbn
I 100% got a really bad feeling when he woke up his wife I thought there would be like a fire or something downstairs like the parallel to the fire jack died in but man I was not expecting that
They absolutely cannot. He is the emotional center of his family and the show. Also.....check out Sterling in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" season 3. He is amazing.
@@Blue_Inspires and I agree that it was needed. S4 has been one of my favorites but it was lacking 'omg' moments at the end of the episodes. This one really delivered (also the previous one with Kev expecting and engaged on his 40th)
@@azizsaleh8470 no Kevin this different because all of it will be somehow connected to their mother. Maybe we finally get to know what happen why Randal was cut off
generally most people in their life experience some kind of dangerous scenario i don't see this as aberrant or soapy at all. One in three women experience abuse at the hands of someone they are or were intimate with. i dont know the stats on home invasions in america but im sure its more likely for wealthy neighbourhoods. i wonder if this is random or targeted.
I wish they'd show us how Rebecca and Miguel got together. We know every last detail about Rebecca and Jack. Why even have her with Miguel if he's permanently exiled to the background?
Jehu Strachan but then they stopped talking. When he wrote her on Facebook he says it’s been along time since they talked. I wonder what happened between them for her to stop talking to him. I don’t think Miguel would no longer have a relationship willingly. He made a promise to jack.
I'm still a bit annoyed and mad with that hall pass chick leading Kevin on like that. That could have seriously effected him mentally and mess with his sobriety. And it truly is just not kind to do with someone in general. She should have been up front with him from the beginning.
Upfront how? She just met him so in her head, this was leading to a one night stand. Once she saw that he was going out of his way to impress her and then told the Jack-Rebecca story, she realised he was looking for a serious partner, so she stopped everything and told him the truth. The girl did everything right.
Imbra Kim She did everything right? By hiding her marriage? It doesn’t matter if she and her husband are ok with such one night stands doesn’t mean the other person is ok sleeping or dating a married woman. She should’ve just said it to Kevin at the coffee shop.
Sushree Maneesha Yeah I have to agree with you there. I don’t think there’s really anything wrong with a “hall pass” if everyone’s okay with it, but she should’ve told him from the jump. Plus, she can’t pretend to be innocent because knew she was doing something wrong as soon as she decided to pretend it was her mother and not her husband calling. You don’t lie if you don’t think what you’re doing is wrong
I actually think the intruder will be stopped at the beginning of the episode after a probably tense first scene before the openning credits, something like they handled the house fire in that season 2 episode and then the rest of it will focus on Randall having a anxiety attacks mainly caused because of this event, since the scenes we see in the episode with the hooded guy are mostly dreams, because the colouring is greenish just like in the scenes which show Randall"s dreams as a teenager, with Rebecca, the flowers, and him trying to get in thorugh the door
I was so excited to think that Sophia Bush would become a regular :( it would’ve been all of my teenage favorite persons in the same show hahaha ( milo , mandy and sophia )
@@kerryetolaviderot8802 I felt pretty cheated, the creator of the show said in an interview that she would play an important role in Kevin's story arc...really? was that so important?
Carolina Albuquerque that’s what I read too. I’m starting to think maybe there’s more to her character . I think maybe we’ll see more of her character w Kevin. Since supposedly she gonna play a big mysterious role that supposed to revolve around Kevin story line ....which considering yesterday I don’t really see why they kept it so secretive which is why I think there’s more to her character that hasn’t been shown yet.
Why is it bad for Kevin and Sophie to ultimately end up together? I'm just curious why it's a turn off to so many. The flashbacks to them as kids are pretty cute I think. Is it cause he hurt her so much? If so, there may be more to their story that has yet to be revealed. And often, we tend to hurt those we love the most
I think it's just annoying the back and forth. Oh it's gonna be Sophie... no it's not... wait maybe it is... nope definitely not... oh here comes Sophie again... 🤦♀️😂
I was hoping there would be a Kevin/Madison relationship. When they were in the waiting room when Kate was in labor, I felt like the fact that they focused on them not getting along would kind of make it a plot twist when they got together later. Oh well. Madison is so cute and I love her character. Would love to see her make a regular appearance! She’s a great friend to Kate... so far.
He obvioulsy lives, in the future when he goes to see his mom. So does Beth and Tess, they were also in the future scenes. It will be a good episode no doubt, I'm looking forward to Kevin's tho. I relate to that character a lot.
I live alone and check every single room, backdoor and basement before I get settled in too. Good instincts Ran. We’re not going down without a fight ! 💪🏾💞 I was expecting him to go downstairs and have a breakdown. I’m always wrong lol
Idk about this fam. I loved this is us for so long because it was so relatable. Now I feel like they are slowly trying to crank up the drama and it feels like it’s getting soap opera-y. The writers are so good! They don’t need to reach for such low hanging fruit for narrative tension.
If it's not from anxiety then maybe it is a disgruntled citizen who doesn't agree something Councilman Randall did. People get mad and attack political figures so maybe. I think it is just anxiety or a dream I mean in the preview they talked about Randall having bad dreams.
nup definitely real id say just the actualization of his fears you know always afraid and then the real reason presents itself. Its good theyre exploring anxiety but i think most anxiety is a little more complex than the version they present with Randal though i think it is beautifully explored especially when its someone whose life is so together and whose mind and personality are so open.
My wife and I had our hearts sink when we saw him... given that he'd just returned from helping his mother diagnose her memory loss issues, and they'd taken the time to show him visit each kid's individual room, and his wife's prior to heading downstairs to see this guy... our minds jumped to the worst and possible shocking death of Randle. It'd explain why Kevin shrugs off his mom's remark about "Is Randle coming?" at his 40th as "No mom, we don't talk to him anymore..." ... the reality of the situation would be that he's been dead for several years at that point, and his mom just can't remember it, so they pass it off as a family feud or something. Thankfully, that's not what they were doing - but we were freaking out!
😱😱😱😱😱 *Would make more sense and be even more dramatic: Maybe he's the robber from his teenage dreams. Somehow he manages to get rid of them thanks to his new gf, but now the nightmares are back. That's why we see him screaming in bed. And he's probably more terrified about realizing that he's having those nightmares again vs facing an actual robber, idk just a theory*
I was looking down at my phone and saw a figure standing out of my peripheral vision and thought Rebecca showed up to the house. 🤦🏾♀️Rewinded and was like 🤭🤭🤭
Well we all know Randall isn't going to get hurt or anything because we see him in the future when tess is grown up and also Rebecca must live with her memory loss for years because she's laying in a bed and all the kids are grownups
The robber is that guy that Kate dated. He must of broke out prison... took a bus, tracked down Randall's running route and slowly jogged his way into a backdoor in the home. Good thing, Randall knows karate a little bit.
To be honest Randall works out like a lot if anyone could have a chance against an intruder with a knife itd probs be him but as this is us he getting stabbed and all of these memories will be when he unconscious at the hospital probably
In a real home invasion scenario and your in his situation, that’s the best thing to do. If you’re face to face with the intruder totally unarmed like he was, make a bold commanding statement, and don’t show any fear. If you were to walk down see him and jump you’d be at a disadvantage immediately because the intruder knows that you’re afraid of them.
Same. Sophie and Madison are annoying and too predictable which is what this show is not. I think its gonna be the Asian woman they show conversing with Kevin and Rebecca for a second in the living room at Christmas time in the latest episode.
I think the theory about Randall hallucinating sounds the most plausible. It's completely random to have an intruder for no reason! And I don't think Sophie is really coming back into the picture, that was done to throw us off to the real fact that Kevin is going to end up with Madison.
I think this is fear turned reality, a robbery takes place. Doesn't Beth end up with a limp in the future? I don't know if the cane was for dance or she suffered an injury. Also I know Tess is the only daughter safe in the future.
What if Sophie and kevin had a baby when they were in their late teens/early 20s in New York together. Kevin was born in August of 1980 and graduated from high school in May of 1998. That means he was only 17 when he graduated. And could have possibly gotten Sophie pregnant at 18,19? but Sophie wasn’t ready and gave the baby up for adoption last minute? Maybe, that’s what took Kevin so long to find someone to get married and have babies with? that’s what caused their divorce?
Ugh. Jaysus, enough with Sophie already. Her and Kevin were just AWFUL together. There was NO chemistry, and frankly, married, divorced, back together, break up again - third time does NOT make the charm. Bloody hell. Kevin needs to either find someone entirely new, or actually realize that someone he dated before he got his shit together and didn't give a proper chance to (like Sloane) would be a better fit for him than the one that horribly cliched idea of the person he's repeatedly broken up with being "the one". I HATE when shows pull that shit. I thought This Is Us was better than that - please, please don't fall for that terrible TV trope and have Kevin and Sophie get together AGAIN.
oh damn this is a real intruder! I really thought it was his daughter's boyfriend sneaking in/out. It will be interesting to see how it all connects to his childhood.
In the beginning of season 4 with that big crazy episode that took place in the future, her was visiting his daughters in the future. I kinda think its safe to say that he probably wont die.
@@amberspivey7803 The fact that we know that Randall won't be hurt in this episode makes me very afraid - why do this episode if it won't have any repercussions? The only person we haven't seen or heard of in the future timeline is Randall's youngest daughter Annie...
Imbra Kim Annie or Deja...infact in the most current flash forward ( the one after thanksgiving) we are still left with question cuz 2 of the big 3 weren’t talking to Randal when Rebecca shows up to the cabin.
@@Blue_Inspires I think it's pretty clear that Kev and Kate don't talk to Randall because he hit mom's diagnosis from them. But I am sure that the conflict will solve itself out quite soon. However, I was just rewatching Katie's wedding episode which ends with old Randall talking to adult Tess and them saying they need to see her but aren't ready. I'm thinking that this scene is not connected to Rebecca because it's hard to believe that Randall would stop visiting his mom because it was 'too hard'. He would survive anything for his mom. So unfortunately I think something is going to happen to Annie. Randall and Tess are talking about visiting her grave...
Watch the latest episode again. When they skim through Christmas time there is a glimpse of Kevin and Rebecca talking at one of their homes and a young Asian woman is standing I'm between them conversing too. So I think she might be important later
Megan Lopez Considering Kevin’s child is blonde in the future and blonde is generally a recessive trait, his fiancée should have blonde hair too. It’s either Sophie or Madison.
Not cool. That ending. I watched this late at night by myself and now I cannot sleep. How did I go from sobbing to now being terrified? No thank you This is Us. 😔
What is Sophia bush really wasn’t married but maybe she just got out of a relationship/marriage and wasn’t ready for the next step and used that as an excuse?
Elena girl I am confused shoot, I don’t know but I know it showed her on the caller Id as kevin’s phone was ringing. Idk what to think of the chaos going on with kevin and women. But we see him in future preview with a child so who knows u know
U guys remember the forward flash at the end of season 3: T & K are divorced but he still shows up to Kevin house mentioning Jake and “they”, right! Annie, Deja, and Miguel are not mentioned and not at Kevin’s house. We see Kevin son but no mom or wife, YET! But then remember the flash forward after Thanksgiving where kevin and Kate are not speaking to Randal when their mom shows up at the cabin with Cake for the big 3 bday right! It’s assumed that they r not speaking becuz Randal kept the secret about their mom. So clearly this all happens way way way b4 the Rebecca laid up in Kevin house with Nick by her bedside. And I still don’t know who HER is. So we have a long way to go & this episode ending idt is gonna feed us much pertaining to the mid season flash forward or the other mentioned fast forward. above all we know is what was said n words across the screen and less of what we saw in the sence cuz that can be so much more then what we imagine. . We know that each sibling will have to face their worst fears. THATS IT! I don’t even think we fully know what those fears are for each sibling. I also think it’s very strategic that they r starting with the last of the big 3. This mid season return is for sure gonna be a roller coaster ride and CLEARLY VERY UNPREDICTABLE.
"Her" is Rebecca. When grown-up Tess told Randall "I'm not ready to see HER yet" and he agreed, they all got together at Kevin's house where a very old and sick Rebecca is. She seems to be close to death.
