I’m a straight man who pushes a lot of emotion down but for real.. my dad watches this show all the time and even though I haven’t seen every episode .. whenever I sit down to watch it with him I get sucked in and usually end up either in tears or feeling like I’m feeling shit I shouldn’t be feeling but I just let that shit happen.. great writing and acting
Your portrayal to Miguel was exceptional. At times I struggled with how Miguel was disliked and the time frame but I’m not certain how it could happened earlier and be long lasting. Great job by a wonderful actor.
I can’t believe this show is ending. I cried like a baby by the end. I could not tell you how many times this show has had me ugly cry. All actors do such an amazing job. Miguel and Rebecca have the hardest roles in the time jumps.
It was disappointing that we didn’t get Miguel’s conversation with his son that led to their reconciliation. Also where was Miguel’s daughter Amber? Also why didn’t Rebecca ask Miguel to include some Puerto Rican food and traditions during the holidays ? Also why didn’t Rebecca support and encourage Miguel to talk to his son and daughter more? Miguel was so supportive of always supporting Rebecca about helping to help to talk to Randall, Kate and Kevin about their problems. And Rebecca couldn’t be equally supportive to Miguel and encourage him to reach out to his son and daughter? Did Miguel’s daughter Amber die and that is why Miguel only mentions that he doesn’t talk to his son?
I know so many unknowns, and I don’t think they will address it being that there is only 3 episodes left. I wished they could’ve had some more on his back story.
I’ve been saying this for a long time. There are few episodes that were nice, but didn’t really contribute to the overall journey. However, this particular episode did a wonderful job telling his story. I am not sure if I would have cried if I already knew his story.
The focus of this series was the Pearson family. Like Beth, we only got glimpses of Miquel's family. We never got much on Toby's family either. We can assume off camera though Rebecca would have encouraged him to keep trying with his children. If you remember in the season 3 Thanksgiving episode Miguel's son especially hated Rebecca and blamed her for his parents' breakup although Miguel corrected him and told him that he and Rebecca only got together 10 years after Jack's death and his children's mother had divorced him and had remarried before Jack died. Amber? she was there spreading ashes under the fruit tree; no focus was on her so we can assume maybe she was on better terms with Miguel than her brother.
