Very brutal way of dealing with peoples livelihood! They could have given people a few month to move their materials they are selling but to expect people to pack up right away it’s not easy for everyone. The government don’t just wake up one morning and decide to close these businesses when they decided it was going ahead they should have advised the people then.
I am with the police department trying to put structure in place to open up the roads for the public to maneuver around and easy access to commute but i think the way they going about it is ridiculous and forceful , I wish they should have give this vendors time to vacate premise restricted by Law. enforcement on the streets ,smh......lol.
So we are destroying our economy with our own hands? Micro finance ( petty traders ) and small medium enterprises are back born of our economy. The economic ramifications of destroying all these businesses will be felt throughout the country and will cause the dalasi to depreciate causing economic hardship for several years to come. why do we always as country emphasis roads, roads when 90% of Gambians don't own a car. Most of the cars on the roads are either government, NGO's, parastatal , commercials and others are few private own cars. We don't give priority to trade, agriculture, education and health as a country, but always busy on misplaced priorities, that does not benefit the population much.

I suspect that everything is being cleared to give a more pleasing impression for the foreign dignitaries when they arrive for the OIC conference. This is nothing to do with making things better for the ordinary people.
This country is fool of hypocrites broh they don't know wats even going on when it doesn't affect you, u don't care I mean. They are in diaspora opening there big mouths here, bla bla nonsense. This makes no sense at all
