SICK! Good talk guys. I had previously seen the Slaf response to Basu's question and I didn't think much of it. But when paired with Marty's response to a question about facing criticism and Cole's response to a reporter's question then I start to notice a pattern and it becomes concerning. Don't get me wrong, sometimes reporters ask really odd/dumb questions that require a sharp reply, but in these specific cases they seem like legit questions and in return they received snarky remarks. Snark from young players who haven't accomplished much in their pro career's creates concern about the culture that is being cultivated within the room and, quite frankly, from Marty if he allows that behavioral trend to continue.
They are badly coached no. Structure at all that helps this young team watch Laval games night and day to see how much better they are coached and ready to play
That's what happens when you hire an unproven commodity simply because he speaks French. God forbid they hire someone who's got a winning track record....but who doesn't parle francais. They may piss off the PQ and language bigots.

Vets like Dvorak, Anderson and Armia don't seem to play with heart and look so underwhelming. Hardly a help or an inspiration to our younger core. These vets should be traded, demoted or replaced by ones who can lead by example IMO.
I wanted to pose a question Tony. We all know that athletes are proud and by all accounts hate to lose especially in NHL Canadian markets. We all know that media members can ask questions that can get under someones skin especially after a loss. To be fair it is the media's job to ask these questions and sometimes they ask the same questions day in and day out which would annoy anybody. I get if the whole team is making snarky remarks after questions it could be a bad sign that the team is struggling and or the culture is troubled. My question would is does the media put themselves in the athletes shoes? And ask themselves. "Hey my question could get under someones skin, I should be prepared for that". Or do they just ask the question doing their job and think the answer is gonna be a bed of roses? Cause if so that is naive and silly. Clearly the canadiens aren't happy with their play and frankly and like to see them get angry but they also need to take responsibility for their poor play. Cheers Tony.
This habs team really reminds me of my favorite nfl team. The Cincinnati bengals. Both teams have some talented players but both teams have horrible coaching
For awhile now, I have major reservations about Martin St Loui . He seems to have a problem getting some players to play his game. And he hates and benches players he doesnt like. And I can assure you he does not like Arber. So trade him and then live to regret it .
.. I miss all of Tony's old guests..snake, george ect ect. Real fans, real people. So called experts like tonites guest blow smoke for an hour..dull.... bring back the old school ...keep lapierre tho.
At 13:30 when you start talking about Montembault, I remember that first game where he was excellent and I remember when Marty decided not to put him in the next game. The second game of the season. And I said what a way to ruin a goaltenders momentum. Ride a hot goalie always! I don’t care if it’s back to back, and you definitely ride them this early in the season. It was a wasted performance and wasted momentum. This again is on the coach.
Gallagher is all-time class. Is “in the mix” 😂 for captaincy and is snubbed for Oscar winner of silence Max Pacioretty. They bring Weber and hand it to him on a silver platter. Several blows to his ego yet he plauys with grit 100% of the time even when he’s injured. F’n warrior mentality.
Short answer: Poehling 👎🏻, Kotkaniemi (instead of Brady Tkachuk)👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻, Reinbacker (instead of Michkov and a bunch of others) 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻, Mesar👎🏻, Dach👎🏻, and Newhook👎🏻. 🤷🏻 First round picks have been misses for many years. Ad to this questionable trades such as Baron👎🏻, Sergachev👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 etc.. all these things add up and are responsible for the Habs to be way behind other teams who made rebuilds such as Ottawa. The Sens are thriving and will certainly make the playoffs this year.
This rebuild seems to be all about getting injuries...Indeed, without a record number of injuries the last 3 seasons, this team would not have drafted Slafkovsky, Reinbacher and Demidov. Only Demidov is elite talent but Slaf will still become a good player. It is obvious that Reinbacher will likely never live up to the status of being drafted 5th overall...Biggest mistske of this rebuild, not finishing top3 in 2023 after finishing dead last in 2022. That would have given Montreal a genuine 1C for the next 15 years !!!

The goalie is being screened by his own players- they blind him and don’t stop the puck when in his way-goalie has no chance if he doesn’t see the puck
The honeymoon appears to be over from certain fans and members of the media. This team needs a lot more talent...but instead, people keep blaming the effort, leadership, injuries, goalies and coaching. Wake up everybody...they need more TALENT !!!

I have no tolerance for these athletes crying about the media. Without media and attention, you don’t have viewership and you don’t have these big salaries. Why are they so mentally weak, and clueless to the job they signed up for?
