Chao Garden deserves its own stand alone game

Dang these are some good ideas, one thing I was thinking could also be added is more skill based games and races for your Chao. This could help with making the game a lot more fun and cut the more boring aspects of only being restricted to watching the Chao in races. Like maybe you get to control the Chao in the races and there could be complex strategies and ways to one up each other threw skillful gameplay. Obviously leveling up and caring for your Chao will be the main way to win races, but this more skill based and interactive way of racing could help make raising your Chao more fun and rewarding.

(Just a thought) More toys would be fun (like floaties, rubber duckies and more sonic dolls) Or chao(s) having a rock band. Let's not forget about decorations. 🙂

what a wonderful video! chao are extremely charming to me, even as someone who just enjoys sonic from afar, and i would certainly play a chao island app if it ever came out, as i adore their interactivity and customization options and just overall lovely design. your ideas are unique and smart and they definitely should be considered for the future of chao.

My first Sonic game was Sonic Riders....and I LOVED it. It surprised me to first learn other people don't like it. Could you make a video for non Sonic experts like me laying out all Sonic characters across every game/show? I imagine it'd be a whole series.

I have no problem with the Chao being autonomous, the feeling is akin to a soccer mom watching her kid play. I'd like a new Chao competition called "Talent." This would be a talent show where your chao could perform in front of judges. They would do whatever they learned in school, like music, dance, singing, etc.

I think the big thing is just online chao racing and other chao minigames would be awesome. A solo version for emblems (though emblems dont' really exist in sonic anymore) but an online version for everyone who loves the chao garden.

Ok, you were already speaking to my soul with the Silver chao in the thumbnail, but then you brought up how silver would play with the chao and then you had me all the way through. I agree with absolutely everything you said, it would be so cool to do all these things with modern day tech. However there is one thing I disagree with… chaos chao using animal parts. They don’t allow you to put animal parts on them because they are pure, so anything resembling the cross of multiple creatures is unpure. However I do get what you mean about an Angel Chaos Chao with a Unicorn horn, or a Devil Chaos Chao with Dragon or Phoenix wings, but… let’s simplify it. COSTUMES!!! COSTUMES FOR FUCK’S SAKE🤣🤣🤣 as a matter of fact, if a chao is in a full animal costume, which you can put on part by part, so if an animal has wings and you don’t like the wings of the animal, you can put on the parts of the costume you want, and leave the wings, and same goes for horns, etc. so if you don the full costume on the chao, it can actually fully resemble the animal, instead of looking half chao, half animal, which to me looks weird, it’s like “PICK ONE DAMMIT, WHAT ARE YOU? CHAO OR ANIMAL?🤣🤣🤣🤣”

One time I had a dream about the chao garden, and I think it was really cool. Basically, you could unlock certain parts of the garden. Maybe you would need to have X amount of chao, or buy something from the market that would do something, etc. In my dream, you could open the “door” at the hero garden where there was the fountain and the pillars, which would lead you to an underground mini-garden. It was glow in the dark themed, and you would get a special egg once you unlocked it. Maybe after unlocking it you could have like four more chao in that entire garden. I really hope they add something like that if they bring the chao garden back

Lets petition for Sega to implement something like this on phantasy star online 2 new genesis! Since they took our ability to raise mags. The Chao could literally replace our old mags

I honestly think a tag minigame would be 10x better than a cooking one, since it'd technically be a mix of racing and karate, but there could also be a chao brawl free-for-all minigame or treasure/scavenger hunt minigame too.

I would like a Chao dugeon diver or something, where you could form a small party of chao, and then run through a procedurally generated dungeon. They're stats of course would be used, and their classes can be determined by their type. With a "Silver" Intelligence chao, we could get an Espio luck chao, or something like that.

What if the hidden stats don't show, btw I think the hero chao should be redesigned (hero/fly/run) silver for example more characters as chao.

Making a chao hero, dark, or neutral, or a specific stat focus wasn't random you controlled all that depending on what you gave them or who you spent time and petted them with

Chao dancing, how about that? Where you need to input certain buttons at the correct time, and every stat is the time period for different buttons

More on the Chao Dungeon Exploring game, this would also give you a good reason to breed multiple types of chao, and even at all of some of the other wise less useful types. For example you'd need a tank, so you need a Power chao, to be either your knight or warrior, and then high intelligence would be some kind of mage chao, and it's alignment could determine what type of magic it uses, so you might need a int-hero to be a healer, dark would be a like a curse/ debuff caster, and neutral would be an elemental damage mage or something. And if you have types and sub types + alignments, you could have quite a few classes to breed for, as well as to have them work together with each other, so you might want some kind of synergy, from passive abilities they could learn at the chao kindgarten or from previous succesful dungeon runs.

I love the idea! I hope we get the return of the chao garden we need

Late reply, but love the idea of the hidden Intelligence and Luck stats becoming visible if Chao Garden returns. Maybe have Silver Chao be a hybrid of Hero, Intel, and Run. While a Blaze Chao could be Hero, Luck, and Run. (Blaze is bad at cooking though, but I was thinking of the lucky cat statues.) Maybe even throw in more Chao like a Rouge Chao that's a mix of Dark, Luck, and Fly too. Or even a Big Chao that's Neutral, Luck, and Power.

They are apparently making a Chao Garden mobile game called Sonic Chao Guardian. No telling when it'll be released, I suspect sometime this year or next year.

Holy crap this video blew up without me even noticing it! Hi!! Uhh I'm usually active on my other channel PrimaDiva, but now I'm feeling like maybe posting here a bit sometimes, I got this huge video about a potential SA3 that I NEVER finished so I might just make that!

I can agree with majority of the ideal suggestions you've made here (Especially for a Silver Chao) If there was ever a Future Chao Garden SEGA plans to make, these would be my personal suggestions that I believe should be a great update for Chao Garden. 1. Make more Chao Gardens So by this, instead of just having 3 like we currently get in the first 2 SA games, they should increase its amount of the variety of Chao Gardens they could offer and at the same time, keep the previous Gardens included for nostalgia wise or if people really loved these specific gardens. Kinda like a Callback to Longtime Sonic Fans! I say they could have an amount of about 10-12 Gardens hypothetically. And agreed how they can make them more expansive for players to explore them around. They could do ideal Gardens like for "Desert", "Space", or maybe a "Lost World/Mystic Ruins" theme for future gardens as an example or something. 2. Increase the amount of Chao to raise (Capacity) While having only 24 Chao Total (having 8 in each garden) seems decent to keep a capacity of, I personally wish they could increase their capacity to keep these guys more. My suggestion for this would be where instead of these Gardens holding up to 8 Chao each, they should increase it to about keeping up to at least say 24-30 hypothetically. Leaving about having up to about 36-40 Chao to keep total in the gardens. If the player meets up exceeding the amount of Chao to keep in the Garden (so say like you have to acquire 24 Chao or less in a garden to raise) they should make is what I would call a "Chao Daycare" where the player has the option to place their Chao in that Daycare if they can't be able to place it in a peticular garden if it exceeds that limit to where they don't want to end up getting rid of it by saying "Goodbye". Especially if the player was very attached to that Chao. Of course, the "Goodbye" option should still remain in case if the Player decides to let the Chao go live its happy life in the Faraway Forest if they don't want to keep that Chao anymore (and they're very sure about it for this decision) but they should do this update where we don't want to resort this option much by only having to keep its small capacity of 8 Chao to raise. 3. Include Day/Night/Sunset aka "Change Type of Day" settings in Chao Gardens. Speaking this out of SA2 wise mostly, but while a day setting is a *nice* scenery to look at in Neutral/Hero Garden as an example, I wish we can be able to see what they would look like in Night/Sunset evening settings as an example. The player could be given an option where they could either have it "Auto" I call it where the type of day changes automatically (Like they could make it arranged like how StarFox Adventures appears where Thorntail Hollow changes its day settings to day and night by how the colors of the sky gradually change) or they can set it up manually if they want to keep that type of day for a while. Say like I liked "Night"' the best and wanted to keep that Night scenery. They could also add "weather" into it if you want it to be a Rainy/Cloudy/Sunny/etc. Day if a player likes these types of effects in the gardens. It would kinda make the Gardens feel more *alive* if you know what I mean 😉 Last but not least this would be my final suggestion 4. Raising Stats through Animal/Drives to Chao should be used more than once. I know that we have the "glitch" for it that helps us with this issue(Which is good since it helps raise our Chao's stats more faster) but I really wish they could update having to use our Animal/Drives to give to Chao more than one use to not become so repetitive and tedious everytime where we have to continue collecting Animal/Drives in the Action Stages. But anyway these are all my personal suggestions for a future Chao Garden. Thank you for your time if you've got this far into reading my very long and detailed comment 😅

Underrated and based channel

I hope Chao Gardens return. Sonic Adventure 2 is my favorite Sonic game.

While I'm not against the idea of a cooking mini-game, I would also like a rhythm mini-game like Guitar Hero or something, since Chao could even play instruments while in the garden. Overall though, I don't think Sega will do a Chao Garden again, unless it was it's own game. Games these days don't get so fleshed out anymore, and Sega especially won't be so willing to do this as side optional content in a Sonic game. Sega only sees Sonic as a cash-grab opportunity these days. Although, with the popularity of the Sonic movies lately, Sonic is starting to see a bit of a revival. So it's possible we may finally start seeing some good Sonic games again, but I wouldn't hold your breath on a Chao Garden. But God, I hope they do bring it back, and do it some serious justice.

What about adding foxes and owls for intelligence? I was also thinking there could be a bank for storing Chao drives and animals, and you could put your chao in the bank if you want to increase their stats a certain way.

I mean i have a mod where you can give them hats and everything and there's an option where the chaos chao can have animals

silver chao is a good thing and if they make a chao o6 game as a meme it would be kinda funny to see but it being good

um they had alignments is sonic adventure 2 though I would love to still see that. Oh and races were also online at one point in time or rather you could race your friends. I know there was a option to race other chao I just was never able to do so myself. I love the jumping out the water and the other little behavior things. A galloping choa would be so CUTE! Seeing the luck stat and intelligence state would be nice. Yah the grinding needs to be helped out a bit. I don't think it should be cooking though a new mini game would be cool. Then again I'm a bit biased as I don't like cooking period. I do like your detail for how the cooking would work. The new tight rope race or plat form race would be cool. You would need either a time trial for the ropes or multiple ropes for it to work. The rest of the online stuff and the app would be amazing. I would play the app. Love the new garden ideas and playing with the chao by racing them yourself. I would love to see two racing chao dashing around a track for the fun of it. lol The equipment is also cool. More hats and clothing would be cool.

Mood/Happiness was its own stat & seriously you want chao to die still while preventing their reincarnation? As for cute costumes for Chao I want to put them in cute school girl uniforms. As for Gardens I would prefer to have lots of normal size (8 Chao) gardens & then maybe 1 Massive Garden in addition to the maybe 8 Normal Gardens.

This idea came to me in a dream about a 4th garden. it was called Chaos garden. not chao but like (Kay os) garden. it was a purple door right next to dark garden that was for (kay os) chaos. the shiny ones i mean lol. i remember the exact layout in my dream and it had its own theme that has a synth/cosmic theme to it. i always thought it would be a good idea.

In my opinion, we don't need much more to improve the Chao Garden. I think that a Chao Garden game on it's own would take a lot more than we think. If we were to get a Chao Game, it would need to have a selection of stages we could replay to obtain animals and drives, all the same level of difficulty. It would also need a character creator or at least three separate characters to play as, one Dark, one Neutral and one Hero, either that or just make hero/dark chao locked behind buying Hero Fruit and Dark Fruit. Chao cannot live in their own game, that's just not how the chao work. But, if I were to have a returning chao garden here is what I'd want in the game. *Ahem* Luck and Intelligence as their own stats with their own Hero/Dark/Neutral evolutions Races based around Luck and Intelligence specifically 3 new chao gardens The previous 6 gardens from SA2B and SADX Make Jewel chao easier to obtain, maybe make them purchasable through real money (I mean come on, it would be better than spending 26 total hours on a sonic Pinball game and buying it there) A device in the main room to enter the chao gardens allowing you to remove all animal thingys Online and Offline chao races A way to bring your chao with you via your Cell phone Chao Trading Maybe Custom made characters to play as that you can either choose as Dark, Hero or Neutral or just bring back the Hero and Dark fruits Now go ahead and call me a Coffee crazed maniac who probably spends too much time on the chao garden but there is so much more that we already have in the SADX and SA2B chao gardens then you think. I'll suggest going and watching SapphireChao's tutorial videos on Chao raising. But you don't have to, it's just a suggestion. Also there is a two tone Jewel chao. They're called Shiny-Jewel chao.
