Surprised me too. I used to keep frogs as pets for a few days and then release them when I was kid. All I remember was that I was fascinated by them, but I don’t remember any of them having a personality.

So when the owner put food on his fingers, they try to swallow the food thinking and their reflexes makes keep trying to swallow despite the initial bite already enough to swallow the food. This can be shown by them not trying to swallow his fingers when he pets them without food.

I don't think it's wrong to call it bonding, so long you know they don't have an emotional connection to you.

The behavior is cute but it is for sure just territorial aggression for food. Both of them were hand fed. So they see hands they expect food. My fish do the same when they see me. Fighting each other for positioning to get the food first.
