Guys, this movie was dope. I was a young lad at the time, and this movie was like an expression of youth. It had almost a cult-like status among the youth of the day. After this movie, R. Madhavan(the hero) became quite popular in Bollywood. You know, some periods in your life hold special significance. I remember the late 80's when I was a little kid, and I have my first memories of music, movies, etc. For me, the 90's music was characterised by Kumar Sanu, who I was a big fan of, not because of technical brilliance, but because the pain in his singing, the music, and lyricism all sort of epitomised pain, longing, and sorrow. If you were single or had a crush, let's call it puppy love, you'd totally get his songs, man. This movie came out when I was transitioning from a period of youth without care to one where you'd worry about your career, parents and family, pressurising you into an arranged marriage, etc. Somewhere that innocence was gone, and a whole load of worries took over. Phew 😒. I would love you guys to cover songs of Bombay and Rangeela. Both were great movies with great music. "Kehna Hi Kya", from Bombay, is a brilliant song; I swear I can cry each time I hear it.
