English native here: You would say "In the city." In _most_ cases, we apply logical sense to on/in/at, depending on whether "it" is a surface, something you go inside of, or something you are directing some action toward. Though, there are some exceptions around "on" and "in", or "in" and "at", that usually convey some nuance. When you visit the city, it surrounds you. So, you are "in the city". If you are outside of the city, you might look "at the city". You might see the logic there, that you can be enclosed, or surrounded, in which case you use "in". "At" implies being outside and taking some action that has a direction "Throwing the ball at..." "Shouting at..." When you walk down the street, you are walking "on the sidewalk", never "in the sidewalk". You park your car "on the street" (maybe, because you are at the edge?). However, we would more likely say "The boys were playing in the street" than "...on the street" (maybe, because there is some sense that the street might not be the safest place to play, and they are 'surrounded' by danger). If someone was "in the street", we might tell them to "get out of the street", "get out of the road" ("out, being related to "in" (surrounded)). But, we might also use "off" in both of those cases interchangeably ("off" being related to "on" (a surface)). More metaphorically, if we say someone is "on the road", they are travelling (maybe with a band, or exploring the country). If we say someone is "on the street(s)", they may be 'outside of society' (homelessness, prostitution, etc.). There are lots more examples and exceptions. But for the most part, if you think of the logic of being "in" vs. "on", like a bed, are you under the covers (lying in bed), or not (lying on the bed)? So, you may be "at the beach" (an exception to the direction-toward), or "on the beach", but never "in the beach". You may be "in the hospital" (a patient), or "at the hospital" (a visitor, or nurse). You would know where you are, by a sign "on the hospital". I could probably go on for hours, but that's likely more than you ever needed to know.

I have really enjoyed this style of video, so maybe its an idea to do more reactionary videos (about whatever topic or theme). I think it might be very helpful to learn what natural expressions can be used in Spanish when reacting to something you see

Congrats for 100K subs on YT hopefully we are gonna make it to millions. In 20 of June I am going to start to a Spanish course that I am really excited about as in school we had Spanish lessons but they taught the same things every year so we didn't really make progress which is annoying. I always loved learning languages and as far as I have seen I am prone to learning new languages and this comment actually shows it as my native language is not English (I'm not bragging I'm just saying that I am lucky about it and it will help me improve my A1.2 level Spanish if it goes as expected)

This is great; it is not horrible at all ! It is important to be able to laugh at yourself. This video taught me the difference between bolso and bolsa ! That is a great way to remember paraguas - to stop water! The street lights are IN the city (contained within the city). If the street lights were on the city, they would be either on top of the city or shining light at the city, like a search light! Thank you for your videos. Farolas are IN the city. The Spanish en to English in/on is pretty messy and situational. Generally you use “in” for subjects that are contained within objects and “on” for those that aren’t. The salt is in the salt shaker but the shaker is on the table. It gets really weird with transportation. You’re always in a car but you’re often on a plane, train, bus, boat, etc. Basically if it’s something that has a professional driver you’re on it. It’s a lot like por/para in that you really just have to get a feel for it.

Now that you have TOLD me, I will never forget what a TOLDO is 😂

“Toldó” in hungarian means something that extends something. In this case, the roof is not big enough so you need “toldo” if you want your windows in the shade :D
