Hi Rocio, that game is also in Kenya coastal area and the game has the same name bao . Also ugali in Kenya coastal area is called Sima more similar to lnsima. Malawian are bantus just like us .enjoy your travels ❤❤❤

If it wasn't mentioned it's Lake Malawi, I'd have thought it's an ocean. Of the African countries I've been too, except for SA, indeed a car is small but it is big because in taxis and buses people are "stacked". The place you're staying in Lilongwe is well decorated. It's simple but very nice. And the restaurant bathroom as well with its well thought out decor was nice to see.

I live in the Caribbean and when I was a boy growing up I used to see the old men playing this game; the name I know it by is wahry; not sure if I spelt that right but that is how it was pronounced. So clearly, our African ancestors brought that game over with them when they were captured and brought to this region.
