My husband used to fly fish. The trick is to land the fly as natural as possible. Then the fish thinks it’s a real fly. You keep flipping the line in and reeling it in. Cast , reel, cast , reel. You’ll have fun fishing. That water bottle can be used again. It’s better than plastic
Yes, the elevation, especially in Colorado. It's really bad I used to live there too. I was in Mount Rainier today, trying to talk. My breath was gone cause the elevation. So yes, colorado is worse man.The elevation is no joke there
I know how to fly fish, my dad taught me, it's a lot of fun, and very relaxing. Lol Colorado river water is bone chilling cold. We used to set our pop in the water, and when we wanted one, it was colder than a refrigerator. They have some huge rainbow trout in that river 😏 yes, they're what they call tied flies. they're tied pieces of plastic brushing made to look like a fly, they're light weight and float on the water like a fly. When you cast, you lightly land the fly, and gently pop it off the water like a real fly does when it lands on water lol, its exciting. Makes vibrations in the water that grabs the fishes attention. Yes, the fish hide from the sun and closer to the edges to avoid predators, they come out in the middle when the sky is overcast.

You need to pick up a pair of cheap Water shoes. Keep them in your van much easier going through creeks and lakes that have sticks and rocks with something other than your bare feet or your slides.welcome to Colorado! God’s country❤
Big Nugget, your van may be heavier than a regular vehicle. Try high performance racing brake fluid in the van if your going to be going up and down mountains. It has a higher boiling point. If the brakes feel spongy you may need new brake pads.

Bro, I started flyfishing a few years ago and it has helped with my mental health immensely it requires patience and you will learn a whole new set of skills with knot tying and learning how to read streams for fish its almost like it’s a primal type of fishing that nothing else compares to if you’re thinking of taking it up do it!! you’re in the perfect area for it , it’s the reason I want a van life it around the country so if we ever run into each other, let’s fish I have an extra pole always!

When you get the chance to be in Colorado again, you should visit Manitou Springs. It's beautiful up there, take the cog rail, visit the Anasazi Indian Dwellings and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo at the zoo you can pet a giraffe ❤ Stanley motel is the name of the hotel in the Shining movie. You can rent a room there on a night when it's haunted lol
I drove into something like that years ago. As I had my young child with me, I literally hauled ass out of there, turning on two wheels! I didn't encounter hail; just a darkness like the clouds came down on us. the weird thing was there were no more cars around; as if everybody else knew to avoid it. i was never so scared in my life. my sister told me there were tornados near her house and that was where we were headed. I never found out what it was for sure.
