Ive walked thousands of miles across north america and weve always had a saying very similar to yours. The worst day on trail is still better than the best day at work. It may not always be true in the moment. But in looking back, a bad day at work still sucks. A bad day on trail usually turned into a great story.

So, I still camp by myself. This coming week , my children will be joining me. Very sad that yes, " MEN ARE ALREADY DEAD AND DON'T EVEN KNOW IT. " Thank you , for that comment. I love your videos bjorn. As a soon 17 year old in Norway relate to a lot of this. I am often seen as a rebel. I prefer the peace and quiet of the woods rather than the city. I have had a hard time making friends but at the current moment in my life the friends I have are really close. But a lot of people look at me weird and think that I am just a weird guy. I have an old phone (i just got a new one because the old one broke). I dont have a lot of clothes and the ones I got are not cool or the right brand. And I have different hobbies. But personally I feel free. I used to sit 6+hours just staring at a screen all day. Now I hardly use only devices other than for school and watching videoes like this to gain knowledge. I feel free now. A lot of it is thanks to you.

Dear Björn. Thanks for sharing your message. I used to live in a metropolitan region in Brazil, but 4 years ago decided to move to Germany. The place I chose is in the florest region of Thüringen which is famous for it abundant nature. Walking in the nature and having contact with my primitive roots is of great relief of all my stress and confusion. I see clearly this idea that society is losing its tradition and by doing so letting undeveloped people govern our hierarchies. By conditioning the society to attachments, leads to a crowd easily manipulated.

When I moved out for the first time I went to the coast as I surfed all the time, yet it was always very busy with many people. Even my favorite activity couldn't keep me from moving on though, into an area I could have breathing room. I now live in the woods of Maine, only an hours drive to the ocean. It's peaceful, quiet. I can hear myself here. I can hear the stream outside my window flowing. I traded quantity of life for quality of life. In the real world. And I've never neen happier.

Although I am a little older than you I was also impacted by the Jeremiah Johnson movie. Mainly the beginning part when he was learning the ways of nature. I was fortunate to have grown up in a country family. I learned to hunt and fish. To make garden and can food. When my stress levels from everyday life get to be a bit much I had to the woods or to the lake and it takes me back to my childhood. Thanks for what you do. Keep sharing.

I'm so glad i grew up in Finland in the country side where my family owns forest and i got really good relationship with nature from a young age. It just seems so crazy to me that most of peoples life's are go to work, watch tv, repeat. One thing i am shit at is outdoors survival skills. I love nature but if you put me in to the forest for a week i'd be dead. I will learn these skills so i can in a future camp for weeks in Lapland or some other great area. Love your videos!

Even though my father took me hunting and fishing with him when I was a small child, I didn't realize my passion for the outdoors was during and after I watched Jeremiah Johnson (the movie). Somehow I connected with that film, it inspired me to go out and enjoy nature, live one with the land, connect with my inner being, and prove I could and would survive off the land, off the magnificent creatures that provide food, clothing, shelter, and fire.. I can honestly say it made me respect men (and women) that endured hardships living that way, but, it gave me peace and serenity. Thank you Bjorn for this video, and all of your videos. Your wisdom helps others more than you could imagine! Skål.

I moved from Holland back to the South Sinai Red Sea . We have desert and desert mountians. I wild camp in the mountians in my hide away camp. No noise, no water ti find but great view and feeling. I pack alk I need for 3/5 days and read Holy Book and fast during the day light hours. I also pray and meditate on my life and what the world has become. Upon coming down, I feel like a new man and ready to facr the dead people and their world. It is dangerous and once broke my ankle climbing. I made it out slowly but fine. This really made me feel the good and the bad which in the end was a great experiance . People tell me to go alone is crazy. I disagree. This is a physical and mental test of one's ability to survive and feel alive. Thanks brother for this video. I truely know what you mean by the bad makes the good taste good....

Nature heals my friend, can you make more time to spend in nature? (even if just for a few hours) - I find for me its the quickest way to hit the 'reset' button on any built up stress and feelings of anxiety or at least gain some perspective on what troubles me deep down. Just to sit, observe the birds, look at what may be flowering, not really doing much more than that! It soothes my soul. I am sending you a warm hug - and know that you are not alone. I believe in you to find your way.

Beautiful Norway. I was in Tromso for a week in February, with views on the mountains and fjord, you are so lucky to have this on your doorstep every day. I live in England, near heathrow. Concrete blocks going up everywhere, less and less trees and greenery, suffocating high rise buildings and more and more people and more and more crime. 😞 Hoping to go back to Tromsø December 2020, for more snow, mountains and trips into beautiful landscapes.

"The world is full of guys who [...] are just watching this instructive channel while rusting and resting" - No - seriously, another very useful contribution, thank you! Yet, under the conditions of the modern world, it does not seem easy to follow one's own voice into the wilderness when it is needed and desired. Unless you are largely independent in economic terms like the mountain man. But we had the topic earlier.
