Exactly, once the fellow goes down next to you, you should be instinctively flat on the ground or better cover asap, just ducking is not really effective either. No great expert here, but i was an infantry instructor once and there is much time spend in training to use cover or quickly find cover - and though there may be streaks of reality in softair games here and there, one should take them for what they are and have fun. And be glad it is not real, be glad to call a "hit" when hit, because reality - that's an entirely different ball game, irony is that softair cheaters would be plain dead, so embrace admitting a hit and learn to use cover always etc.

Because it is nothing but a kids game. No consequences.

@@SurvivalAussie Tell that to the guys who have to walk for 20 minutes back to their HQ to respawn before being able to come back. That's not every game obviously but with how big some of these Mil-Sims are it's a pretty hefty fine to go down without a medic around.

I'm not sure I'd want to risk getting a lens poked out on an expensive optic but that would be very interesting. Likely the only thing you would see for sure is the face, hands, and maybe feet. It would be horribly unfair if it was a night game with a thermal optic on a gun and NV on your non shooting eye.
