Owning and driving a BMW is like having a sensitive smoking hot girlfriend that you’re always afraid to disappoint so you don’t talk to her or interact with her in any manner. You just peak at her around a corner just to get a glimpse all while hoping that she doesn’t see you because if she does she will completely fall apart, take all your money, and leave you unable to ever move on because you are not financially able to and you’re addicted to that kind of crazy, unreliable girl. This is what it is like owning a BMW. -Guy who has owned a 5281, 330i, 335i, and a 335is
@@fuckngreat8955 Also the worse one of each. I mean, if you going to get a 3 series and complaining about maintenance, then why not get the 328i? I know they have issues too, but not like those.
@@ruurdb2838 alright, if thats true... You can tell me at least 20+ things that have actually made it break down/left you stranded You're saying its around 10x every year so it should be easy to tell me exactly what happened, how/when it happened, what the mileage is at the moment and what caused it to break And most importantly, Did you use OEM parts or the cheapest parts you could find?
I drive a precious horse and find the memes and jokes funny also get weird looks when I actually dive like a decent human being. When I indicate and let other through you can see the face of visual confusion
Had an e36 M3 convertible and loved it. Sold it to someone who wanted it more than me and now have an ‘06 326ci convertible with 59k on it. Love it also! Precious horse is now stuck in my head! 😄
My 330i precious horse's fuel pump died the other day while I was on the highway and I was pissed at first but then burst laughing because I realised I was living the meme.
I work on bimmers everyday at the dealership, great to drive and work on. One thing I can say is do your maintenance and fix the leaks before it ends up being a big repair.
I learned all my DIY mechanics on my 330ci cabrio. You'll soon find a way to learn and repair so we don't get ripped off. Not everything but most can be done by a decent home mechanic.
Yes, I would own a Precious horse. I've been to about 4 or 5 of the Ultimate driving experience events and I have not been disappointed. The brand does a terrific job of letting people have access to their cars. At every event they have the autocross portion that they stage as a competition with the top lap times having a chance to go to California to compete. Also with the test drives they let you get a feel for the car for yourself with no salesman or authority figure to supervise while you drive on the public streets. It's these reasons why I see myself owning a BMW when I get a house and a bunch of $$$ saved up.
I'm a RU-vid Certified mechanic so when I got my first BMW (E46 Touring) I didn't have the confidence in myself to do any work to it. So to the shop it went while getting raped by their prices because "but it's a BMW" tax. Finally decided I'll do the work myself and many things turned out to be easier to fix than other cars I've worked on. The thing about BMW's is you spend more time taking off parts to get to what needs to be repaired rather than the time it takes to do the actual repair. Now have an E92 335 N54 and have vowed BMW will always be present in my family. Truly is the ultimate driving machine
@@MrJamesshipman I absolutely regret selling my Touring. The only thing I can feel somewhat ok about is that it went to an older man who's a BMW enthusiast. I visited him about a month later and he had really done a lot of work to the car. Almost looked showroom condition. Those Tourings are getting harder and harder to find. Keep yours for life.
I couldn't agree more! The day I bought my first BMW was the day I decided to become an at home mechanic. Between working on my N54 powered 135i and 335i myself and purchasing maintenence parts from fcpeuro.com with their incredible "lifetime warranty" on all parts they sell, owning a BMW is honestly cheaper than most other cars I have owned. Even with the slightly increased maintenence requirements. And like you said it is damn hard to match the driving experience offered by these cars.
I actually have 2 “ precious horses” and absolutely love them. There is something special about the way the ride, handle, and drive. I am blessed to be able to maintain and own these cars. After decades of shitty cars, I’ll never own anything but a BMW again.
Honestly, I didn't really understand BMW fanatics until I bought one just because I wanted RWD. Since then, I bough 3 more, had my highs and lows, but my current e36 carried me over 50k kms with zero problems so I guess it's all good now
I think we need to address the elephants in the room, their recent "OK boomer" tweet, and the M3/M4 "lung" grilles. Those things just helped to fuel the fire of hatred people have for the brand.
Even with it's lung grille the car is ver refined and a very good performance. Although I hate the size of the grille and the upper weird ass looks and angles it gives it very sinister look if you saw it from a 3/4 and focused between the grille and the headlight.
I have a love affair for BMW vehicles but the company is a bunch of jerks. And it's not just the okay Boomer thing they've been jerk since the 90s. They have been actively trying to block repair information for decades.
I am a BMW driver (e36 coupe), and I love that car. Very reliable engine (when maintained). In the 90's there weren't that many electrical parts, and therefor no issues. All the trouble comes with the models after 2000. The parts are a bit more expensive than some other cars, but that ain't an issue for the ones who appreciate them old BMWs. Driving my low e36 just makes me smile.
I do own a precious horse. A 2003 330ci. And I absolutely love my car lol. I am one of the rare few that stay on top of maintenance, and I I baby the car (most of the time lol). And I actually use those..........(What are they called again?)........oh yeah! Blinkers!
I dont get the BMW is unreliable yet I still see tons of e36s to e46s everyday. These cars are over 20+ years old now and have withstood the testament of time and reliability...all issues that start off comes down to oil changes etc. My e46 has 218k miles and still going strong...
Thank you Brutal Master BMW for making the cars cost more but get less features and smaller 4 bangers instead of 6’s now. I love the fact they are as reliable as French cars now too! Brutal Master BMW you make my nippies hard!!!
It’s a love hate relationship with my n54 horse. Sometimes I want to drive her into a lake but I also know I would stay at the bottom of that lake with her 😂
@@lighteningbolt6397 ay that's the way it gotta be, it's gonna get fixed either way. To a hundred? Pshhhh no! Never, it's still a BMW at the end of the day😂😂 They sooo cleannn tho, makes up for it.
I have a 370z and I was thinking about buying a supra I know I know it’s a BMW joke. Lol. but I always hear a lot of negative about BMW. But watching this video it seems like it’s just jealousy. 🤷♂️
REALLY !? in the USA people think that BMW is unreliable? this is the reverse of the image here in EU ! BMW makes reliable and sporty luxury cars. this is the image of BMW in EU ! I'm sad to know that! I m BMWist for 25 years!
As an OG American Car and Driver/NFSU2 car geek BMW's didn't even exist to me until I owned one and to this day I don't know why I did that move but let me tell you I'm dang glad I did. 98 328ci (auto :'( ). Even for a pretty "basic" 90's Beemer this thing was for one put together like a tank, the door panels of en e36 are all you need to feel to understand what I mean here. And for 2 screw AWD this thing never got stuck even in the midst of Midwestern winter and I swear I looked like Ken Block every time I'd see some nice snow ahead. Take it or leave it, with my limited experience I f****ing love these german precious horses, older ones at least. Thank you
Hell ya I've owned 4 and will own more. So far, a 2001 330Ci, a 2003 M3, and a 2013 328i.... Oh and a 2011 Mini Cooper S in BRG!... Say it ain't a bimmer!
I’ve been struggling with my EGO ever since I purchased my 2016 M235i red convertible, 3 weeks ago. It’s not my fault, people keep telling me how awesome my car is. I can’t even imagine how hard it is for new BMW owners.
I have a 07 BMW X3 M sport and I love it. It's quickish and handles better than most cars I've had, it is however I hate to say it a maintenance queen, very expensive 🤦
As a 50 yr old, I remember when a 3 series cabriolet meant you were either a mistress or your parents just split up and rich daddy was trying to buy back your love.
BMW is nice and all.. real men drive audi quattro. we watch the poor BMW babies rust while they drive 20 kmh and slip all over the place during winter.
You do know that people can have an opinion, right? And in places like Europe, Mustangs and Z06 Corvette's aren't ideal here, since, fuelling them up will leave you broke and parts will have a higher cost and repairs will be more expensive, not to mention the after market will be smaller here for the Corvette, since most of them are LHD.
@@scourgeofbloodclan3986 They truly are overrated. American muscle outperforms german automobiles any day. As for styling the American automobiles have catched up a hundred fold. They are super good and have technology and good interiors and comfort and are extremely affordable. Well here in the USA. The only European auto makers that do top notch stuff are the Italians and French. But ... Are so absurdly expensive.
I used to have a precious horse... I definitely held my head high as I hard parked in handicapped spots an changed lanes with no signal.. bmw douche bags for life, the ultimate driving experience
My family has always had money but we've never had bmws not a single one. None of them seemed that impressive to me and there were always better or more impressive options let alone all the downsides of a bmw product bmw always seemed like a second rate car compared to a audi mercedes porsche product they dont make anything cutting and audi, mercedes, porshe has something that trumps them for literally any model of car im not arab
Well the reasons why BMW gets so much hate it's because of the drivers and the fanbase and the hype just like the case of the Civic that gets bad rep and hate because of the ricers .
Truth is... BMW's just aren't engineered very well. Their engines are great, of course! But it's the little components that make you scratch your head. Working on a BMW, you constantly say things like: -Why is this made out of plastic? -Why do I have to break this to get it undone? -Why do they insist on using cheap rubber that degrades? -Why do they put the (critical component) by the (thing that can damage the component).
If it’s not apparent by my handle or my profile pic I drive a precious horse and I always told myself before I got it that I would never own a bmw but once I got behind the wheel and started modding it I love it and honestly couldn’t see myself going to another brand anytime soon and the newer generations aren’t bad at all on maintenance it’s just like any other car but it cost twice as much lol but I love it and want to eventually upgrade to a m car
@@straight6lyfe867 n54 is extremely reliable despite what people think. Things may break occasionally requiring a $50 dollar part but it will NEVER break down and leave you stranded.
