God truly feeds our spirit anew each day (manna) if we seek Him: Deuteronomy 8:3 "And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live."

This is wonderful news, we need to be reminded again and again. I was feeling a pressure of "being not enough "because I am just a housewife and mom ....the kids grow bigger and need me less . But bec. of going through some huge trauma 10 years/ 9 years / 8 years ago God gives me this extra time to rest and heal. Praise him.

I think somehow this video is just what I needed to hear. You look really refreshed Alwyn and you are sitting in front of a refreshing seascape with the fresh ocean breeze, and you say that you are rejuvenating and feeling better because you are on holiday, and you can practically smell the refreshing, fresh air, which is literally what we crave, a breath of fresh air, but it is also a metaphor for how we need new fresh ideas and new fresh changes in scenery from the same drudgery and same problems that have exhausted us, day in and day out. I think this video really highlights how psychologically important it is to find rest, otherwise we are pushed to one's wits' end and the result cannot be pretty. I think you are so right and insightful to stay we HAVE to rest, that it is mandatory that we rest, that is is crucial to the mission of your life to take restful breaks. It took me a little aback when you said there is an army, the Lord's army, doing God's work, but that it is okay for those soldiers to rest, it is okay to give oneself that little space and that little break, and that we are not lazy or negligent for doing so, but that it is really wise and pragmatic, that we rest ourselves, in order to prepare ourselves again for the battle (gulp!)....

The biblical story of "Martha and Mary" represents this word precisely. Martha was busy with "hospitality", but Mary stayed in the Lord's presence. Martha didn't realise that Jesus' reply to Martha's frustration with her sister was in fact, her failure to understand the spiritual meaning symbolic of her actions. I strained my back yesterday and just had to stop being busy. However it's not that easy because I kept being busy in my head, worried etc. That part of me is always slow to calm down 😅. Now this is clearly a confirmation that the Lord wants me to focus on the first things first... i.e. Him.

Come everyday for fresh manna. God is giving me 2 weeks off work to heal from a surgery but I also believe it is for a time of intimacy with him. ❤🙏🏽

Thank you he always calling me to rest and I know he uses my health / disability to be able to stop and come to him in rest . Now I’m in time to use a wheelchair at moment I’m using walker / walking stick to help get around and even still I’m called to rest . He tells me he preparing me for what is to come in my works for him . I love how you are so clear in sharing what the Lord has to say . And how it confirms to me what the Lord is saying / doing in my life . He says to me like as Esther it’s for the time as this . I don’t understand but I don’t need to but to trust him in it all. He has a purpose and I know my situation is all for his purpose . I love my God the Lord of heaven and earth the King of all Kings . I get sad that I’m always alone and no one wants to fellowship with me from my church . But I know there is a reason / a purpose for he is training me in his word through the intimacy . Even the Lord Jesus needed to spend time alone with the Father. And many in the bible was called to solitude to be trained and refreshed . But I do know I need to eat my daily mana and not lean on yesterday meal / bread / word even though they can he promises but hold them dear to my heart for the time to be . But it’s ok to remember the miracles and what the Lord had done as this can remind you and build you up in faith to keep pressing on in him. I am a warrior for Christ at rest for the moment I have been waiting for my "marching orders" for about 14 months now. Don't have a clue. Loved listening to the sound of the Waves crashing in the background I miss the ocean so much.

It’s very important to set aside time to rest from our busy lives and to be alone with Jesus, it's essential. I so agree. Jesus deserve us to stop even if it's 5 minutes or more. It's better 5 minutes of quality than nothing at all. The example is simple, when we love someone very much, we want to be in the presence of this person as long as possible and we find time for this person. Is not it ?
