I bought my Porsche GT3 with one big plan in mind, drive it on the Nurburgring! Not just once, but try to really get to know the Green Hell in a car that's fully up to the task. Sadly though, F TB 87 is no more, a new registration is coming!
Misha, you’re a great instructor. I loved how you pushed Tim to the to drive harder the last time. I’ll have to come to The Ring and take a drive with the “Taxi Driver” lol.
Better and better with each video. Sports cars, driven hard on a legendary track what more can you ask for? Can't wait to see you mastering the car and the track to give us a proper quick hardcore lap. Thank you Tim.
Tim, just wanted to say thank you for the channel, but especially for videos like this. I live in Canada, and have dreams of one day driving the Autobahn, and the 'Ring. This video really puts the viewer in the seat, and gives the experience of just hopping in the car, and heading to the track. It brings the dream a little closer. Cheers.
was AWESOME having you blasting by me inside the track.i hired a polo from apex..man the sound of this thing flying by was just orgasmic!! happy to see you enjoying some fast laps!
Hi Tim. Great video and a sensational car; the sound is awesome. Really love to see your development on the Nurburgring. Every lap just that little bit better and love that you’re using the GT3 for what it was designed for. Hey, only another 100 laps and you’ll be an expert. Keep up the great videos
you deserve it and I'm happy for you. This car belongs on a track and you just did it. I think many people just use it as a status symbol, but you treat it as it should be. Great job
bracikmen like 80% of people that have tracks cars or supercars have never driven them hard or even experienced track. This car is new and tims already been driving it pretty hard
I love that you purchased this AMAZING car for this purpose, and you're doing exactly that! Thanks for taking us along for the ride Tim. If there is a video of Robert driving the frog around the track I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say PLEASE LET US SEE IT!! Cheers from Canada
Absolutely superb Tim - brilliant to see you driving your incredible GT3 as it was meant to be driven and honing your driving skills at the Nordschleife - excellent driving too! Keep up the good work bud and I’m looking forward to seeing your experiences grow ever further with this stunning car and this stunning circuit! 👍😈👍😈
Another fantstic video. I'm heading over in the summer for my first ever laps of the 'ring. Nervous and excited, and in a completely inappropriate car for a first timer, but it just has to be ticked off the task book of life. Loving the content, which will definitely help!!
Oh man, that really sucks about the number plate! But, onward and upward, right? And compliments from Mischa on your driving at the ring must've felt pretty good!
Such a fantastic car Tim. I'm lucky enough to have a track spec E30 M3, a car I dreamed of owning for years, but I've always loved the 911. I intend heading over to the 'Ring later this year so it's been good to watch you begin to learn your way around. The soundtrack is pretty special too! Thanks for uploading the video. Mark
What a nice video great to see you work and get shaken up in the car while learning and pushing the car towards better lap times thats quite different than normal street driving and car reviews i personally want to see more race stuff and racetrack action on the chanel keep it up like this 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🍀🏎
I reall don’t think you have to get a new number plate. I live in Germany and I think you just need the papers that say that you have your car registered and go to the “Strassenverkehrsamt” and they will print another paper that approve you to get a new number plate printed with the same letters and numbers.
Yup, I think so too. Or he should basically just remove the front plate and use it as a rear plate and leave it like that with no front plate on it (would look even better at the same time).
Could actually be the case, i read up on the homepage of the zulassungsstelle in frankfurt and they do seem to handle things a little different then here in Heilbronn where i live. Really hope it all works out in your favor would be sad to see the plate go
That was the first time I've seen you drive properly, and you still did the commentary, well done indeed! Do try and sneak in a few more laps without worrying about the video, it makes a difference. You seem to be enjoying Germany, I certainly did (Munich). After a year I realised that everything to do with cars I thought about in German and had to translate to English. And the food ain't half bad.
This is awesome. Great to see you on the nordschleife all by yourself and familiarizing yourself with the track. I'm hoping to see cool onboards from you in the future. I was really looking forward to this video for a long time. Now convince mrjww to join you with the speciale and hunt each other down on the track :D
17:33 In just the opposite direction - The sound reflects from the building. Nice driving Tim! You´re such an inspiration - I just hope things work out and one day i´ll be able to lap there in some nice car myself as well! :))
you should be able to buy a seatbelt clip, so that you can just plug it in the buckle when you have harness on, and you should no longer get the beeps.
Olli Brown salomondrin only talks about food and dealers. He defenitely shouldn't be on top. Check out effspot for a real old school car spotting channel.
In Germany the physical plates are what you own whereas in the UK you own the rights to the plates so if a plate gets broken or falls off you can get another one. In Germany you only have 2 plates and that's it, if one is lost then its game over unfortunately
Tim- Another great video in one of my favorite cars from your beautiful collection. The GT3 sounds wonderful. It looked like you were having a blast on the track. Keep the epic content coming! Sending peace and love from Missouri, USA -Todd
I noticed that in a previous video when Tim filmed the GT3 with the number plates on the vehicle for the first time, it did not have any screws to attach the plate to the vehicle (like we do here in Australia). I was thinking back then when I watched this previous video that it would be inevitable that the plate would eventually fall off ... and low and behold it happened.
Tim you've mentioned the seat belt chiming issue in several videos now. Because you bought this car mainly for the ring, are you going to have that chime disabled? It's not really annoying to me, but you constantly referencing it shows me it's annoying to you! You would think Porsche offering the harness as a factory option would disable the generic seat belt chime when the alternate harness is secured.
Tim. Might sound crazy. Try play in simulators games like Gran Turismo. With a gaming wheel. A lot of race car drivers use simulators too learn tracks. And it does help you learn to know what to expect. Whenever you aren't busy.
This was a rather different theme and I like it. Micha and you make such an odd couple and you finding your way around is great entertainment. Keep it up! Maybe, just maybe, Robert and you should do a f2f - I mean, you guys hold on to a set of keys that share a fair bit of similarity.
Sad to hear about the number plate, but you never know, you might be lucky. But amazing to see you driving the green hell. Very brave with your own car, and your own money.
This is really the dream car purchase. Watch it going through final assembly in Zuffenhausen and then shortly thereafter, hit the Nordschleife. THAT'S pretty damn perfect. Couldn't have done it much better! So I'm curious if any maintenance was performed after about the first 1,000 km or not. I understand an oil change is a really good idea after the initial break-in. Motor oil at least, transmission perhaps too. On a car like that, I'd probably have performed two before hitting the Nordschleife! (I realize it was still in break-in mode at Nurburgring, but again, after about the first 1,000 km of (mostly) mellow driving, it seems fresh oil would have been ideal.)
Nice to see you using the car and hearing the tires squeal in the corners. Do you adjust your air pressures before you go out? Inquiring minds want to know.
Damn.. I can't imagine how much fun you had driving this on the ring. Track + Porsche you can't go wrong, can't go wrong!! Very sorry for the number plate though.
to turn the seatbelt warning of just plug in the passenger belt on the driver side. at least as long as you're alone in the car :P learned that trick while working for the fleet of a big german car brand :)
Are you going to be meeting Adam LZ when he comes over to the Nurburgring with his BMW around Autumn? That would be a cool collaboration and it was fun watching the laps around the Nurburgring as I'm so familiar with it from Forza and Gran turismo. Loved it :)
Shmee I thought of an crazy ass Idea because of your video. I am gonna start my research about what I thought now and if it is not done before It might actually have a good chance of becoming a successful project. I just wanna thank you for uploading the video. The product will be used for the track and ....(that's all I can say).
"Unleash those revs!" ... then Tim shifts at 8k. Lmao! The last 1k is where the magic is Tim. Peak power may be had at around 8200 (not too sure about the 991.2's new 4.0 litre power curve) but I'm sure you're still babying it while you put more miles on it. I beat the snot out of mine whenever I can! 9k RPM = eargasm
Great video Tim, that thing sounds awesome! Is it possible next time you do this, that you put the frame of the camera focused on speedo in one of the corners as small pic in pic on the main frame, it would be really great to be able to see the speed all the time :)
The simple solutions are usually the best... works on my gt3 so why not yours. A bit bothersome with the cage, but much betting than the freaking dinging
