I drink in between 2 to 4 liters pitch black, 'nukular fuelled' (AKA uber-strong) coffee. Strong enough to raise the dead 3 graveyards down the road from smell alone. Most countries do not even know what coffee should be made like. Example: US: you can see the bottom of a 2 litre pot, looking down into the pot. That's not coffee. If I have 3mm coffee in my cup, you see a black tar alike substance on it. No bottom. My cup, after the first one I take, is black on the sides. THAT is coffee. For the Dutch that will know it: DOUWE EGBERTS MOKA ROYALE!!! Oh YEAH! According to my cardiologist: I literally consume deadly amounts of caffeine, daily. :S Going to bed, I sleep as a baby though, never had issues with it either, health or stress-wise.

Ya know when I was in my 20s I called up a flight training school and they were very nice and said "come on in and we'll talk you through it". Well I never did and seeing this guy I kind of regret it.I would have had my pilot's license by now ....since I'm 70.
@d.mcdave8880
@d.mcdave8880 11 месяцев назад
@@spazmonkey3815 Well, I guess it's never too late, as long as you can pass the physical. I was in my late 30's when I had the opportunity and I went for it. I always wanted to be a pilot but every time I mentioned it everybody laughed or said "you can never do that". The main obstacle for most people is having the funds to fly while in flight school. You need to practice what you learn and keep progressing so you don't keep re-learning the same thing. If you have the funds you can get a private pilot single engine license in a few months. Even if you don't intend to get a license you could go to school for a "right seat" class. You will learn the basics and get some flight time and learn to communicate on the radio. Look into that, it may be for you.

In the mid to late 1970s as a young man I worked in PNG as a builder. I traveled all over the country in light aircraft and was too young and stupid to realise the danger I was often in. No GPS in those days. One memorable flight was from Mt Hagen to the Bensbach which should have been a couple of hours but ended up over 4 because the pilot got lost stuck between cloud layers and the manager of the Bensbach lodge forgot to turn the NDB navigation beacon on. Not much left in the tanks when we arrived I don’t think.

I just love that cockpit!! I was watching another flight video where the pilot was flying a Pilatus Porter. It was a super bare-bones cockpit and reminded me more of a Lego set than an actual airplane, but he was a master with that thing. Granted, it's the pilot that matters; not so much the instrumentation, but I do love me a tricked out cockpit! Thanks so much for sharing these videos too! This really makes me want to get back to flying. Got my VFR Private Pilot ticket back in 2006, and accumulated ~ 220 hours in various airplanes including Cessna's (150/152, 172, 206), Pipers (Cherokees, Warrior, Saratoga), a Baron, and even a Citabria. So much enjoyment. Unfortunately I'm living in Japan at the moment and isn't really possible to get back into flying given current circumstances. But videos such as this allow me to experience my love of aviation to some degree without actually being there. Thanks so much for sharing your amazing videos. I just came across your channel and so glad I did. You are doing something I wish I had pursued at a much younger age. Stay safe and best of luck with your aviation career.

That's why you don't fly through clouds in PNG. Otherwise the next thing you know you're slaming into a mountain you never knew was there.

Cool guy, with it from start to finish doing a consummate and safe operation. I'm a retired 1970's Boeing pilot with 8000+ hours, but these LCD instruments have me foxed.

With my fear of flying, I would never get in a plane with any pilot, but at the same time, I do love these types of videos. It's as though I'm actually in the co-pilot's seat. Very exciting in a subdued sort of way. Now, what if the engine stopped and wouldn't start? Where would you put your plane down? Do you check for possible landing sites as you're flying? It doesn't look like there are many if any roads down there. What's the glide ratio? Do you carry a parachute just in case? Lastly, I couldn't understand much of what you and the tower said to each other, but I plan to use a bit of it in a comic routine if you don't mind. Take care and fly safe!

Flew as a mission pilot in PNG in the 70s. At 19 with 200 hours it was a fast learning curve. I still remember the beauty of PNG flying.

Absolutely fantastic! Felt I was in the cockpit with you. The filming was perfect two. I used to festoon my Zenair 601 taildragger with GoPros and got great videos. Flew round Wales and climbed above a sea breeze front to 15,240 feet.😀 Thank you so much!

Just spectacular. What a treat this is. Frankly, bush flying in the SW desert does not compare though, to be fair, that is a good balance for the humid tropics. Many thanks.

Thankyou, my dad flew here in World War 2 flying "biscuit bombers" (DC3 supplies and medical), didn't talk about war much but did relate story of preparation. In good weather they would fly and .... hand draw ... maps for themselves, to learn the mountains and valleys. With insufficient power to climb over the mountains, a wrong turn meant flying into the end of a closed valley. 1 mistake meant a crashed plane. GPS has changed navigation but observation skills and care are still paramount. Stay safe flying doing the work you are doing and thanks for the reminder of that conversation with my dad 40 years ago.

Ryan. I have been following you for a few years now. I love your videos, in fact so much I trained and got my Private Pilots Licence two years ago and now fly a small 2 seat Icarus C-42 here in the UK; partly inspired by your videos! Can you tell me what software you use to put your videos together? Cheers and safe flying!

@@MissionaryBushPilot I wonder if there's a way to get a Draco 2m model plane to share with kids in the missions in PNG. I think it would inspire them to do well in school.

Yeah, I am so accustomed to filing IFR here in the US, that I really see your point about the ability to maneuver VFR in your part of the world. The thought process you need is intense compared to mine traveling in the eastern US. Great stuff!

Question! Awesome video so far, beautiful shots, calm commentary and great editing! But I'm curious as an aviation fan, what's on your MFD at about 10:00? I know most of the navigational markers and what they mean, but the rectangles you're flying through, are they indicative of your flight plan? Never seen that before!
