So many foreigners visit India and enjoy local Street food...But noone had enjoyed street food like both of you...your open free interaction with the locals make it further special
You two are the nicest people, always have time for those who want to chat, and so respectful, which in India is a big deal!! Travel well guys…….BTW I was born in Calcutta 70 years ago, now living in Melbourne Australia since 1971 Stay safe, happy and well 😊
The "TASTE' of Calcutta ( Kolkata) is truly unbeatable! I say this not just as a Bengali ( living in Delhi), but as a genuine food lover and epicurean!! Cheers Chris and Max...u guys are doing a great job unveiling the so many hidden gems of the street fare in Kolkata and elsewhere in India!!
i visited kolkata previous year & honestly Bengali cuisine is overrated...i ate both veg & nonveg but really not up to the mark. Odisha's food is far better than bengali ones...just my honest opinion, nothing else.
@@malayaranjansahu7650 I was born and raised in Odisha and find both cuisines delectable and unique in their own right. Your comment is clearly motivated by your own racist mindset.
You two are so much better together than alone. It's cool to see such different personalities in the same situations. Thanks for your hard work-. You serve as a great portal to the globe. I can't wait to get back out there when I can break away from work. I get to travel as a field biologist, but it hasn't been enough since the pandemic. I'm always in the remote places in the natural world and don't get to practice my language skills.
So I lived in USA for 6 months and the best thing of Indian food etiquette that I missed was the almost unlimited refills that they give you here like achar or extra Sabji or onions like there is so much of openness to food that they give here. There it’s just very very fix and limited even in Indian restaurants there bcoz stuff there is soooo expensive 😅 Indian in me wanted that extra achar and sabji😅
Yes! Soumabha is right about Royal biryani!! 😁😁👍 i spent my childhood going there with my family - it was my father's favourite all his life 😁 and the other place, Arsalan, is also very good 👍
*Being an Indian and an Ex Foodie I Can vouch You Cant Just Give Up On Paratha's Sir .. Thats why culturally We Indians dont count food while eating* .. 💯 🙏
The tea seller's english is OP. I am sure he is a properly educated and started selling Tea because in India profits from selling tea is better than many corporate jobs 😂😂😂😂
@@AniketKumar0047nowadays everyone is trying to be cool by saying OP but the funny part is they don't even know where it is used & what does OP means... Funny people
Most surprising thing is how they can sell so cheap! Even in Indian standard these are dam cheap! One raw egg is at around six rupees per piece; then oil, onion and other spices. Then consider the investment on utensils, fuels for cooking, labour for preparing and washing. After everything one plate egg curry is ten Rupees! I don't think they are being fair to themselves.
@@jumdas1049 It's lovely to see the peaceful co existence between different communities in Kolkata. Keep the far right extremists away, they ruin every place
So polite people our Indians..they asked permission to click a photo..so honesty❤keep it up guys out there in India..so happy to see my Indians treated our guests from other countries❤
Hey guys I am watching your program sitting here 7 pm in indiana usa and my mouth is watering drooling while you judge the food truly well . I am going to watch and follow you guys ….
Omg...that egg curry and parathas only for 20 rs😮...agar yahi humare yaha street pe hota mumbai thane mai toh almost 60-70 rs rehta per plate( 2 parathas).kolkata bohot affordable hai yr.. I'm sure everyone can easily afford food in kolkata...👍mai jaruur aana chahunga kolkata❤️ lot's of love

3:11 It's hot That what chai is all about ''It's hot '' And you wait for the chai to cool down and in that waiting situation you talk with each other or (favourite person) Then you take a sip Again you wait talk Repeat 😊🤩 Chai time
Hey chris. Since you are in kolkata, I think you should come to Barrackpore and try Dada Boudi's Biriyani! It's literally an emotion for Bengalis Also lots of love and support
INDIA has most English speakers than UK😂 Though my countrymen mostly speak Hindi. United States: 268M. ... India: 125M. ... Pakistan: 94M. ... The Philippines: 90M. ... Nigeria: 79M-100M. ... The United Kingdom: 59.6M. ... The Netherlands: 15M English Speakers. ... Denmark: 4.8M English Speakers.
Once a street vendor said to me, its because of the water. Water tastes and essence of water in every state is different in India. You can’t get taste of hyderabadi biryani outside hyderabad. Same with mumbai vada pav and same goes with paranthas of north states. This is India, a land of various foods and cultures and every food has their own feel ❤
You can plan for a dinner in the old traditional authentic Chinese restaurant Eau Chew in Esplanade Kolkata. There was once an avid Chinese population in India, now very few left...
@Desi Chris I'd love if you and Max made a short video of how you guys have hung out together for so long and seem to get along very well. However, I would love to see a video of some of the disagreements you've had off camera. lol. I'm sure they're some funny stories. Best, Derek

Roti - whole wheat dough flattened, heated on a hot plate or on the direct fire, puffs up, settles flat; Paratha - same thing, made on a parat, pan fried with oil, comes out flat; Puri - whole wheat flour dough but one-third or so of a dough ball for roti or paratha, rolled flat after rolling and re-rolling several times, deep fried in cooking oil, comes out puffed up; Luchi - puri made in maida flour, wheat flour with the bran taken out; special in Bengal, in the rest of India, it's puri that they have. What these guys are having is luchi and egg curry.
Kolkata is one of the most mysterious city. Once you understand how to deal with the city, you will just love the city 😌✨... Take love from Kolkata 💖... 😌😌😌
