Finally somebody says it out loud, Tyler is correct, the defense was the strength last year, kept the team alive and in games all year, example 1. Texas game, they manhandled Texas.

What has me most excited about this year, is OU has to go into every game with the mentality of in order to win, they have got to fight. Too many times in the Big 12 would OU get the big head thinking that they will just run rule the entire conference only to struggle and squeak by teams that they are supposed to destroy or even lose. How many seasons has OU had a National Championship caliber team yet dropped a minimum of 1 game/season? Too many times. OU being the underdog against almost everyone on their schedule means they will have a “we have to earn it” mentality. I love this about the move to the SEC. Even some of our non-conference games aren’t teams to take lightly. Houston isn’t terrible, and Tulane has been in the Top 25 quite a bit here in the last couple of seasons. It is true that OU’s schedule is quite the gauntlet this year. So this should satisfy the stupid strength of schedule argument that has hindered OU in the past if they actually compete at the high level we think they can.

People say this and that, all off season. Then the regular season surprises everyone, including all the experts. I still fail to see why we should be scared of the SEC teams that have inferior rosters to what we have. I suspect all the bottom tier SEC fanbases think they would go undefeated in the Big 12, but that doesn't seem to be how the nonconference and bowl game work out.

I won't get excited until the offensive line proves they can block somebody.

I hope they beat auburn into submission but it is a tough place to play and it will be your QBs first road game. Fuq- auburn

They are 100% correct that OU fans are really looking forward to playing against teams with great fanbases. We will all talk our trash, but we are really tired of beating teams whose fans don't even care that we beat them.

Missouri and Texas A&M both made the SEC championship by year 2. No reason to think OU can't do the same.

11 am games are nice from a viewing perspective. You get to wake up, enjoy the game and then either watch more ball or go do whatever the rest of the day. Pm games feel like they take forever to get here
