just so your aware, the reason games are horrible on launch is largley due to burnout/crunch. the less you care and advocate for these issues the worse games will get. you cant beg and pray for an amazing game while the developers are working 100 hour weeks while stuck in a loop of depression. "well just leave the quit" ok so the devs leave and quit, now the game that just had 2 billion spent on it cant launch and the company goes under. you dont have to care but you cant complain about games being shit with 0 effort put in without acknowleging these issues. 2:20 This speaks to me so much. We used to host tournaments (the biggest in the sport in our country at the time) in a niche sport. We had a ridiculous budget for what we were doing (it felt hyper-commercialised in some ways) and literally got our endeavours officially registered as a company. And still, whenever there was a miniscule complaint in a private message, the most turbocapitalistic entrepreneur guy we had would respond "hey, we're just a bunch of poor, busy students, cut us some slack" like a child incapable of taking responsibility. Stop that shit. Take responsibility for your actions. It doesn't take all that much.

Games used to be made by small groups of passionate people. Their "working conditions" were often WAY worse than what the workers in the industry experience now. Difference is back then it was passionate people putting their heart into something they loved. (And the consumer loved their products in return). Now at best games are made by souless corporate drones or at worst by ideological lunatics who despise the IP and its fanbases

I mean.. I care about developers having burnouts because it objectively makes games worse. That's also why DRG is awesome, Ghost Ship Games is an actually honest company that doesn't abuse their workers and it reflects in the final product, which has no microtransactions or paid season pass bullshit. How a company treats its employees also tells you more than enough about how it's gonna treat its clients.

Now now, DRG great game looking forward for season 5 tomorrow. Wouldn't exactly call it micro-transactions free... Sure you have no in-game micro-transactions, you can still spend 100$ in purely cosmetic "DLCs". Which I did because I really like the game and want to support Ghost Ship. Even so their approach to micro-transactions is way better because it isn't based on FOMO, there's no skin rotation, the DLCs will always be available in case you want to buy them, when you want to buy them.

@@z_0968 yeah that's true, it does have minor microtransactions but you can still obtain great skins without paying. Those cosmetic DLCs are mostly for supporting the developers if you want to and the game feels complete even without them. I shouldn't have said it has no microtransactions tho, you're right.

In some states that's actually legit. Washington and Texas have "mutual combat" laws where if two people consent to fight, there are no legal consequences as long as a police officer is present to oversee it. I am *not* making this up. The only contingency is the officer has to break it up when a "clear winner" emerges.
