The first wrestling figure you were unsure of was Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, not Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. The other figures were Hillbilly Jim, The British Bulldog and Tito Santana, not Paul Orndorff
Enjoyed the video Tom. That bulldog growler, I saw on the American Pickers and it was from the 1890's. Sure had alot of great stuff at this flea market.😊
While you were busy looking at the frogs around the 5:00 mark, there was a box on the very edge if the table and at the very corner of the table. In that box was a toy battery-operated car with 2 people in it and the female passenger in the car has a camera. The car is from the 1950s, and the box it was in is in extremely good shape. You should have bought the car, they go for several hundred on E-bay!
I remember Finast Supermarkets. I think they closed in the middle 1990’s. Circa 1990, My older brother worked at a Finast Supermarket. Later in the summer of 1995, I worked at an Edward’s Supermarket ( a related chain of Finast). I remember having to wear a dress shirt and tie to Edward’s. Six months later,in 1996, Finast closed and my Edward’s Supermarket became a Stop & Shop Supermarket. In 2000, Edward’s finally closed.
The old cast iron door stops have very smooth finished surfaces. The reproductions have a grainy surface which is also the case with cast iron mechanical banks.
Too funny, that's exactly what I thought of when I saw that chair! I remember when Myrna ( played by Penny Marshall) tried it out, and said, " I feel like I'm insured by Allstate" 😂
My option on the cast Hubbley, you really need to know the molds, the quality in the work, how well they fit together, some are marked on outside, some you must open. Just a flat drive screw does not mean much today. You see many with newer phillips drive screw. I am sure I missed many other points, anyone else knows some good info list below, let's get some good information out. ✌🏻💚🙏🏻
Great video, Tom! Brimfield is the best! I think that big mouse is Topo Gigio. Probably before your time! 😂 I remember Finast brand sold at First National supermarkets here in RI. Have a great weekend !
I gotta go now. I haven't been since I was a kid. My parents were antique dealers and it was different back then. I really wasn't into all the antiques. Looks like its changed a lot and its more to my liking now. Back in the day it was only antiques and the very best ones at that. People are more into vintage stuff now. Gotta check it out!
The big gray mouse is most likely from a Chucky Cheese pizza restaurant they had outside in front of the restaurant. You may not have them in New England as to why you didn't recognize it. But here in East Texas and surrounding areas, we do. Houston especially. Thanks for another awesome flea market adventure video.
When I shop Goodwill and Savers I ask myself where are the antiques? Then I shop Brimfield or Mansfield Flea markets or Yankee Flea market and I have my answer!! There is a lot of old stuff still around and out there!!
I bought a video game arcade marquee just about a month ago for my favorite game from my college days (Pengo). I paid $65 for it. That said, if it was just for random "no name" games, I wouldn't have paid $50 either.
Hi Tom, there was a guy and girl at the indoor garage sale I go to in my area in Allentown Pennsylvania that was selling character glasses for $3.00 each but I don't know if you want to travel that far just in case they aren't there in November. The show is only two times a year.
A lot of that cast iron stuff comes from India where it's cheap to cast and produce, have seen tons of there all that mitchelin man stuff and them Boston terriers. And probably lots more.
I live 20 minutes away, and try to go to at least 1 of the shows. The summer one is tough due to the hot weather, but I missed the spring show, so I may have to brave the heat. Also, I hate it when people don't price their stuff.
The boston terriers are reproduction. It's easy to tell the difference. In the early 1900s, iron work was done with great respect for their craft. Hence, it is hard to find seams and better paint work.
The EPA says that intact and good condition Fiesta Ware is safe to eat off. That said, they advise NOT using the red stuff in case it chips so that you don't ingest it.
Sir please don't say second hand smoke gave you lung cancer later. It's probably the plate you just bought. As you will hold up by your chest like you did on purchase and examination. You will do this every time you handle the plate.
