I have lived in Thailand and have been to a village where the King Cobra is a part of their Buddhist beliefs. The people in these villages live with King Cobra's in their homes and the snakes are allowed to crawl freely in the village. They put on snake shows for the tourists where i was even allowed to hold a king cobra free handed. Being around these snakes while in the village i noticed each snake has its own personality. Some are quite docile, while others are more aggressive and i even saw one that had an extremely aggressive personality. He was in a cage but when a person would come near the cage he would hiss loudly and strike hitting the cage trying to bite the person. Striking the cage is painful for a snake and most will learn to stop striking the cage. But this one snake never stopped whenever a person came near and he would strike until the person walked away. I am thinking they have different distinct personalities, just like people.
King Cobra is originated from India Asia where King Cobra are worshipped as diety all over India on Naag Panchami ( Five headed King Cobra ) it is celebrated for one day and King Cobra appears in temples, near Holy lakes or River story
Thanks~ I wish people would learn the difference if they're talking about animals that handle either or. Even stranger... he keeps alternating between the two... so he just doesn't know. ._.
Two things: 1. Spectacled snakes you mentioned there is also referred to as Spectacled Cobra. They're cobras too! 2. Even though immune to other snake venoms, one King Cobra can die if bitten by another. This is usually seen when a male bites a pregnant female if found carrying eggs of a rival male.
You forgot to mention that cobras are actually pretty chill: They rarely bite people and when they do they often don't inject venom at all (or very little, so you get the pain and the point).
Cobras are chill and they rarely bite people ? And when they do, they don’t often inject venom ? What are your sources for this claim ? My guy’s randomly pulling facts out of his arse.
They are confident in nature. They don't want to waste their venom on animals that can't kill them or they can't eat it. King cobra can't swallow an entire human. They don't have teeth like carnivores to bite us into smaller bites. So they simply avoid big ass animals. Snakes on the other hand are very easy to eat since they are smaller than king cobra and easy to eat as they are small in every aspect.
Tbh the it isn't just them hence why you don't have two snakes in the same enclosure and if a snake is stressed they will eat themselves. Mainly when the snake is smaller
You confuse the King Cobra with the Indian Cobra or Spectacled Cobra. The King Cobra is much larger than the Spectacled Cobra, and can look a 6ft. tall man in the eye! The King Cobra laughs at the Mongoose!
Yeah....all venomous snakes gangsta....till Mr. Badger or Mr. Mongoose pops around. 😂😂😜 They're just a bit faster than snakes....and super smart ...and also fearless. 😂
When i went to the village i was allowed to hold a king cobra that was about 10ft long. It was very docile and the man who gave him to me had been handling them since he was a little boy. Was watching tv one night and a news story came on that the man who had given me the king cobra to hold, had been bitten and died from the bite. Many people think they pull the fangs from these snakes to avoid being bitten. Doing so injures the health of the snake and the snake people in Thailand will not harm their snakes.
I think you're confusing the Spectacled Cobra for the King Cobra. The King Cobra is absolutely huge and no badger or Mongoose would get 10 kilometers of proximity to one ever. It's so big, that if it stood upright, it could look you in the eye.
@@jjungoniee484 A honey badger, maybe, but even then honey badgers often fall prey to Rock Pythons since they constrict their prey. It's like rock paper scissors.
The king cobra is like that 1 hood soldier everybody scared off and be on toes about when they out if they catch u lacking it’s over the king is well respected and they got the rep to show💯💯
Just two years back a king cobra was caught in our bathroom near work area. My mother thought it was a common snake which was not at all poisonous and took a photo when it was hiding behind the washing machine. And she waited several hours for it to go away but it didn’t. At last. A neighbor came in and said it could be bit poisonous and they called a snake catcher ( I don’t know if it is the real term)from forest department. He came and told us what it really was! Within minutes there was a large crowd at our home and that guy took it away. I am still in fear of meeting any more king cobra here bcz he said that was just a child and there could be more of it nearby.
King cobras look so intelligent in their eyes they literally look like we could have a verbal conversation with them. At least they look that intelligent to me.
Every animal - "ohh hail... The lord elephant is coming. Elephant - "cobra?" Oh hell naw I'ma run" Cobra - ohh fuck the lord of all animals is here the great "Honey badgerrrrrrrrrrrr" nnnnn
My guy you told the correct answer for the wrong reason. Niche is a specific place occupied by an organism in ecosystem not an environment. In the places they live in , snake predators are rare (only mongoose and honey badgers) and they can't keep up with growing snake population. So king cobras filled that niche of being the predator for snakes.
@ no if they get bit to many times they will die that's why the mongoose runs around the cobra instead of taking it head on it just has a high venom resistance also it does not go after the normal big cobras it goes after the smaller ones
Ive always thought Kings are just smart, by far the most convenient shaped meal for a snake to eat has to be another snake. They are just highly deadly Russian dolls at that point!
They are not the same thing. Venomous means they inject their venom and poisonous means they will make you sick if you eat them. You can eat a King Cobra and it won’t kill you but if it tries to eat you then your screwed. So again they aren’t the same thing.
@@infernapepokemon8306 do you honesty think that the honey badger can kill that chunky snake it is badass doesn’t mean it can kill predators that are way out of weight and size range
@@sahave5042dawg honey badgers are actual monsters when hunting. They can easily escape the constrictions anaconda or a python puts on them. Your argument for anaconda being chunky. Sure a wooden axe won't cut you off with single slash , if you slash 10 times? 50 times?.
The King Cobra is considered the smartest of all snakes, and do remember faces, and prefer to slither away rather than bite because it takes a lot of energy making venom.
It is believed that when Moses staff transformed into a snake and at pharaohs snakes, it was a King Snake and that is why it was able to eat all of Pharoah's snakes. I would think that a King Snake would be useful in keeping the snake population in check.
I mean, it's kinda weird to say "it devours it's own kind!" It's like if a wolf ate a chihuahua, you wouldn't say it was devouring it's own kind lol, a snake eating a snake of a different species isn't as unusual as it sounds
Did you do voice work for machinima? I love this channels content and how unlike many other channels, the thumbnail is actually in the video. great work.
I was in Thailand. Even had to walk through quite a large terrain of fields on a pathway to get to a beach party and thankfully no snakes. I'm fact I wasn't even thinking there were snakes in Thailand until I saw this upload duh 😵💫👍
I mean, King cobras aren't the only snake to devour other snakes frequently. This is actually pretty common among snakes, who are generally immune to the venom of the snakes they chow down on. Also, snakes are venomous. Not poisonous. These terms are not synonymous... Also, the way you worded the Philippine cobra segment was a little weird/confusing. I assume that the Philippine cobra, given how much smaller it is, would generally be eaten by the King Cobra. You guys really need an editor to go over your scripts...
Cobras doesn't attack any other animals usually. Even if it does , it gives a warning bite with little to no venom. They only attack if you attack them or threaten their/their children's survival.
Me: *a student who should be studying for an exam RU-vid feed: May I interest you in why the king Cobra hates other sneks? Me: Mmm why yes, tell me more good sir
