Have you ever seen the Statue of Liberty, as a travelling figure? On the other hand our Mermaid actually went to China some years ago, as part of a World Exhibition!

As a Dane i have to admit, that The Little Mermaid is the most underwhelming turist attraction. So much, that I have never seen it with my own eyes.

They should put up a sign to acknowledge that we know it's underwhelming. Thank god it's free of charge! For many of us its more like a symbol - and a historical reference. Thanks for visiting our small country and I hope that you experienced the laid back Danish atmosphere!

I don't agree at all. I've seen her many times, mostly as a kid, and for me she is totally the right size. Just the size I would imagine a mermaid to be, that's the point. That she sits there on the rock to mimic a real one. Why would the statue have to be really big, how would that make sense...?

@@wildflower314 The point of the statue is to mimic a real mermaid? You do realise, that mermaids are fictional creatures, right? For my sake, she could be any size - i don't care. But nevertheless its still very underwhelming.

It’s a must do, of course when in Copenhagen as i see it. However, when we went, there were too many people, and a couple families literally went over and posed with the sculpture for like 20 mins… no one could get a good shot without that family in the picture. Pretty rude I’d say. But, it was nice to see the sculpture, though

The little mermaid is not a folk tale though, a folktale would be a story that have been passed from mouth to mouth throughout generations. As the story gets passed along it will be changed a bit as details gets lost or added along the way

The Little Mermaid were written by the Dane Hans Christian Andersen. If there have arisen any folktale connected to the statue of the little mermaid besides the original story by HCA it are that many Copenhagener´s like to think that she keeps an eye on the waters for us since it can be considered the gateway to the inner waters of Copenhagen. I like to think that.

This is an interesting channel. I usually just travel to Poland. But i need to vlog in other EU countries. How affordable is Copenhagen?

We love Poland! Affordable is not a word I would use to describe anything in Denmark. However, in our opinion, it is all worth it!

Such a great video, you are welcome here anytime! There is some different solutions for turist, where you can buy a tour card, where you can ride puplic the rest of your holiday for that amount. I dont think its that expensive, at least it's cheaper than tickets 😊

Just the old schengen shuffle! We keep track of our days and since Schengen countries are more expensive, we tend to have plenty of days on our visa.

Some Danish Lakrids is so strong that it is unhealthy, if too much is eaten. And I think we had some EU debate about selling a "pipe" made for children, as they then may become addicted to smoking in their later lives! A Danish couple also became arrested in the US, for leaving their child outside a restaurant, in a trolley!!! Beware of the Danes and their strange habits!

That place is somewhat over rated and insanely expensive transportation cost maybe in all of Europe.. Never spent 55-60 euros alone from Malmö airport - Copenhagen vice versa.

If you land in Copenhagen Airport, you can take the Metro to downtown Copenhagen for the same price the starting fee are in a taxi, and it are faster! IF you want to go to Sweden (and why would you LOL) then you have to pass one of the largest infrastructure constructions between two nations in the world, if not the largest. Before you had to take ferries and use a lot of time. Now you can do it in 10 minutes. It was costlier to take the ferries. SO consider what you save, time AND money, instead of what you spend. Swedes see the glass half empty and Danes as half full. There are many reasons why Danes comes out as more happy people than Swedes, here, I think, we have one of the big ones.
