If you’ve seen just about any promotional material about Guyana you have probably seen Kaieteur. The giant waterfall is located on the Potaro River in Kaieteur National Park. The falls are famous but did you know that everyone has been getting its name wrong? To make things even crazier, the origin of its name either tells the story of a beautiful and touching act of self-sacrifice or just plain murder of the elderly.
