Most people don’t get why they shouldn’t be in higher gears when Doing wheelies. But from experience I’ve learned to shift to lower gears while doing wheelies. Great video as always, I really like this new series!
Thanks for the comment dude I appreciate it. In my opinion I think low gears can make it hard becuse you will be going so slow wich means less stability.
@@MacNSteez2602 I’m sorry I switched it around in my other comment, I get gearing mixed up a lot when it comes to mountain biking. What I meant was higher gears (tallest/ largest) and lower gears (smallest/shortest) sorry about that.
I always forget about brake modulation… everyone says “cover the rear brake so you don’t loop out,” but leaves out the part where you need light brake input to help you balance! Great video!
Great video! thanks. please make a video about the must-to-know skills that people should have when riding a bike, like what to do at hard turns for not to slip and etc.
Great video! Another tip I would add is that leaning back really far helps a lot with sustained length because when you start getting to low you can lean back more and balance it out.
Thanks for your input, I may have to try faster speeds, but I think it’s more in my initiation because I have a tendency to fall to the left when starting a wheelie. Because I can’t recover by throwing out a knee.
Last winter I decided I was gonna learn wheelies so I would practice every day for like 30 minutes of straight wheelies after school. It never really clicked for me so I kinda stopped practicing. Then in like march i all the sudden could do them! Then I couldn’t! Then at the beach this year, I was going crazy one day then the next I couldn’t do them at all! That’s still going on for me which is pretty annoying but this video should help me out
Yea you dont want to be in the hardest gear just one that is a bit harder than what you are probally using. I like to be somewhere in the middle of my gears. Thanks for the comment btw.
Yea dude I just needed some time off. Now I feel like I am actully putting in my 100 percent effort and I its paying off finally lol. I definitly am not going to be slowing down anytime soon.
@@MacNSteez2602 good video, I decided last December I was going to learn to wheelie before I turned 40...well that was January and I'm still working on it haha I realized last night that two of your points were effecting my wheelies, too easy a gear and too slow. I managed to get a decent 30ish foot long wheelie while rolling faster than I normally try and in like 6th gear. Gotta keep working at it so I can look cool in front of all the kids out on the trails haha
