Very enjoyable, and I love your botanical nomenclature. Looking forward to some summer 2021 trips once we are no longer under a stay at home lockdown!

Hi Carol! Thanks for checking out this one, a highly educational lesson on nomenclature 😂 I cannot wait for the lockdown to end so we can all get out in the beauty of nature. All the best to you!

Time to watch winter videos! Man, I've been in Algonquin many times in winter and never saw those rare trees. Obviously not looking hard enough! 😄 Kudos to your layering system with the sleeping bags. Although you should use the synthetic on the outside. I can explain later. Getting stoked for winter!

Haha well yah those rare trees are pretty tough to spot...I wonder if we'll find more on our trip there this year, who knows what other kind of species we'll find! I hear you on the layering with the synthetic layer on the outside, I'm thinking its to keep the down layer dry as the synthetic can still keep you warm when it's wet? Yah I'm getting excited for winter camping to, got a new tent to try! Thanks for stopping by David!

@@LatitudesWildernessFilms Exactly, you want the moisture to move out of the down bag into the synthetic to preserve your down. Plus synthetic dries faster. I often use a overbag (synthetic) to increase the temperature rating of the down bag. Awesome, can't wait to see the new tent!

Great video - really appreciated you walking through and reviewing some of the gear you used. I've been looking to upgrade my sleeping bag.

Hi Pete. Re your sled, have you considered enhancing it to a pulk sled? There are many DIY videos out there but a really good one is by REI Co-op. Just Google "REI Pulk Sled". You already have a good sled and turning it into a pulk sled will make hauling in your gear mush easier and more comfortable. If you do check out the REI instructions, I created my own waist harness that is slightly different than theirs.

Hey Lisa! I had hoped to do some work on that sled, just hadn't had any time to devote to it until now. I haven't seen the video from REI but I'll for sure check it out. A waist harness is a great idea, I had also considered clipping onto my backpack near the hip belt. Looks like our lockdown is ending next week and I'll finally be winter camping so I'd better get on this project! Thanks for suggestions!
