It helps if people would give their ages. I have a family member who is 74 diagnosed 10/2023 glioblastoma stage 4. Had surgery and is now on 3rd week of chemo and radiation. I’d would be so appreciative of anyone’s experience and story w/ the elderly. ❤

The ongoing study of a phase 2 Trial of Paxalisib Combined with a Ketogenic Diet and Metformin for Newly Diagnosed and Recurrent Glioblastoma should prove a new treatment is on the horizon very soon!

I'm happy to hear about this clinical trial. My father had gbm for 33.5 months and we think that his protein based diet was a big part of his longevity, similar to Pablo Kelly. Pablo is an 8+ year survivor.

@@venucherukumalli you will want to provide nutrition which is low in carbohydrates especially sugars. Evidence shows that this is cancers preferred energy source. You can look into Thomas Seyfrieds work on the metabolic theory of cancer, also look at a long term survivor Pablo Kelly. Preferred diets are the ketogenic diets or high protein diets, best of luck to you. Also try to do Proton radiation therapy.

I'm so surprised more researchers don't talk about using the gamma knife in this. It seems to significant so the migration of this awful cancer.

What are the reasons wafers might not be placed at time of initial resection?

I’m all for supporting a ketogenic diet-however, I don’t believe that it simplifies anything or gives us “longevity”. All of my research (not a doctor, but I am a nurse), has lead me to believe that the answer is in the immune system. These medications that can’t make it over the BBB, but treat other cancers “successfully” always seems to point toward increased immune response. Of course genetic components are not to be left behind-if someone’s father has a history of one or more cancers, shouldn’t NSG testing be the standard? I get it that only 1% come back positive, but still. This all circles back to the immune system!
