I was lucky enough to handle a very early prototype of the Tactile Archer way back in September, and I knew RIGHT AWAY that I had to have one for myself. All American made with love in Texas, designed by the legendary TJ Schwarz (the guy that made the Arius), and it is truly a grail level experience top to bottom.

I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about price on this but yet people are willing to pay 700-900 for much simpler flat slab Ti knives in cpm 154 with no milling, no lock bar insert and no double row skiffs. Then there’s all the knives you mentioned etc. as well which are still more, oz, Koenig, brown, lamia.

I own one, got it on the first batch as well. It breaks in nicely, the action will improve to a "drop shut", just fidget with it a bunch, keep it lubricated. Mine had slight lock stick as well, but that too breaks in nicely. The lockbar insert is magnacut, so you have magnacut blade locking up on magnacut, takes a little bit for that to wear in. Mine is perfect now, nice drop shut action and the ACOUSTICS on this knife are addicting. The sound of it opening and closing is just orgasm

Seeee... THAT is how you do a Ti-sandwich(™) knife. There are design elements that makes it stand out from every other Ti-sanwich(™) knife. It's plain-ish... but it has detailing that makes it striking to look at, which is what knives at this price should have. It's outside the range of what I am willing to pay for it, but it's a nice one.

That thing looks sweet. But for $600 I'll probably pass. Hoping it was going to come in around $450. Just don't think Tactile is in the same league as other $600+ brands. Oz, Koenig, Herman, Fancy CRK's.

It really is pricey. Cause as of now tactile does not have the quality and craftsmanship that koenig, crk, skiff, etc have. Especially considering tactile has such a rocky track record with their knives. I’d say 450 is justified not 600 tbh.

For $600 i rather get a large sebenza 31 micarta inlay with magnacut steel. all framelocks can fail so making a beefy tactical look is a niche but it sells.

Excited for this knife but I will never buy a first run Tactile Knife ever. Too much history with them coming out needing revision and I won't get burned again. The good news is that they always work out the kinks. 599 is high but not outrageous. I can say I would not pay that for this knife, I'd buy a Mcnees, Demko or Hinderer and get an awesome knife for less, but that's me. I venture that people will struggle to pay that for a tactile though, seems like they are swinging a bit above their level with that price to me.

Looks amazing and its in the category of knives i usually look for. But why do so many of these high-end knives have such hight tip blades with so much belly. Nobody is using them to process game, and if they are used there used in a utility knife type of way. So that much belly doest make any sense. I will buy one but already know the drill, it will be amazing and at the same time just sit in a knife case until sold while my low tip drop point and sheepsfoot blades get all the action.

This is what we call a James Brand Barnes moment. Excellent knife, top-tier materials, top-notch fit and finish, but about $150 overpriced. Not to be confused with a Benchmade moment, which is the overpriced factor without any of the good.

I really like Will and his whole crew at tactile but people are right. This knife if overpriced for where they are in their knife making journey. Feels like a Millit Torrent 2.0 (also TJ) which is awesome but not quite on the tier of knives as Konieg, Holt and the likes of them.

Please HELP - - just arrived yesterday- imp9ssible to deploy with right hand - left hand manageable- oil added- lock stick is worst I've ever experienced and slight squeeze with right hand seems to prevent knife from deploying - what am I missing after $700 invested ?

The flipper takes some getting used to. My detent was really stiff out of the box too. But no lockstick... do you mean harsh detent or lockstick?

Lock stick when using it left handed - will not open at all when using right hand unless I crimp on my fingers together off the lock bar - with xlarge hands this seems ridiculous-

Sorry but i can't see paying $600 for this when i got a custom with s125v at 64hrc and 3D milled Ti for $500 and another one with s90v at 62-63hrc for $420. At $400, maybe $450 I'd be interested but that's it.

@@rshear618 The newest inlaid model is priced at $679 so it’s gradually coming down. It’s still expensive but it easily rivals the Shirogorov knives I own at almost half the price.

That is way too much money for that knife. Tactile knives in general are way too expensive for what you get but this one is ridiculous. Not the greatest blade shape, not deep carry, the back side look has way too much going on. It’s not worth it, and I’m saying that owing multiple sebenzas.
