Imagine being kidnapped by the IDF at 7 years old, seeing your home destroyed , your family and friends killed. You might be holding a grudge 15 or so years later.

I was in the Army, infantry in the US war against the people of Viet Nam. His stories resonate deeply with me. I’ve spoken with many vets, my age and younger, most would agree. War and violence are the tools of those in power. We, the ordinary people, on both sides suffer.

i really cant express how brave it is to be an Israelite speaking out against the policy. these people are different and need to be protected

What a brave, honourable and respectful human being Ariel is. I feel for what he has experienced and seen, and can't imagine the sadness and inner struggle he must have to stand up for peace and speaking out.

The desire for vengeance following Oct 7th, can we begin to imagine how much rage the Palestinians feel? They've suffered worse than Oct 7th for much longer and yet their rage or pain is never seen, heard or understood.

I'm here after South Africa has taken Israel to the ICJ in the Hague, and before anything has been decided that I can see. The dehumanization of children, especially, is shocking and unacceptable. It is horrific to be sitting here at home watching the horrors of the current Gaza Strip situation. Thank you for speaking out. We need everyone we can who can speak out.

Unfortunately this decent person probably represents a small minority in Israel. However, I think he underplays the extent of this genocide as the population is not just being bombed and physically attacked. It is also being starved, deprived of water and denied medicines and medical assistance. It’s happening because Israeli society has been conditioned over many decades to have no shame for its actions or compassion for its victims.

This testimony is very valid, genuine and strong enough to be heard at the ICJ.

What he said about dehumanization is unfortunately a tactic used across the world. In Pakistan, I grew up hearing about the oppression of Kashmiri people by India. I felt so helpless and angry at the world for being silent spectators. As I grew up, I started became aware of similar horrific acts of violence my own army was committing in balochistan. I have to say, it’s very hard to see it all when you live inside a bubble and only listen to mainstream media. When the bubble finally breaks, it’s both heartbreaking and eye opening. It’s also very hard to engage reasonably with those who still live inside the bubble of lies.

😢In south africa during apartheid we lived with fear that 30 years later is still inside me today when I watch Isreal and its aggression all the memories rush back 😢😢😢

Has HAMAS attacked any other nation other than Israel? The concept of resistance is strange to the Western World. They have historically labelled every resistance movement as terrorists; from Mau Mau in Kenya to uMkhonto We Sizwe and Nelson Mandela in South Africa. History will probably celebrate HAMAS as a liberation movement, just as has been the case with two I have mentioned above!!

I went on to watch other videos of Ariel Bernstein which includes one video in which he pays tribute to a Palestinian friend ( Khalil abu Yahia) that he knew in Gaza. Khalil abu Yahia was killed, alongside his wife and two daughters, in an airstrike whilst sheltering from the bombing in October. He was only 28 years old. They never met each other (only via Zoom). The tragedy was that they had hoped to have a coffee together one day, and now they never will. They saw the humanity in each other and spoke of co-existence.

When Adriel described how dehumanization becomes convenient when doing wrong it clicked in my brain. Its not just in Gaza & Israel but a global issue.

Not a Leftist, but a Libertarian. I’m happy Owen uploads at like 5am so I get to drink my coffee and learn first thing in the morning. Unfortunately what I’m learning is some of the darkest, inhumane things happening to Palestinians and my government is complicit.
