Odakyu for the win!! They have some the best team of schedule planners in Japan. FYI the VSEs still run every few weeks for special events and they're being kept in really good condition. I'm lucky to be able to see them every day in the trainyard from my house.
Another interesting & informative upload Thom. I have Japan on my 'Bucket List", especially the Bullet Train -this ionic VFT really was the trendsetter in the development of the fast train concept back in the 1960s. Your train uploads truly prove that 'trains are awesome' & Japan appears to have quite a few awesome trains!
When I was a kid living in Japan way back when, I had many chances to ride the 3000 series SE, but the real thrill was when I occasionally got to ride the 3100 series.
I’m glad you liked the video. I add music because it sounds a bit too dry if it’s just my voice and no other audio. I’ve noticed that the volume changes based on what device you watch my video on. I’ll work on lowering it a little bit.
Truly a great train gone too soon. Odakyu designs great Romancecar trains but in my opinion their commuter trains are below-average from a design perspective.
