I was working on a mod and tried to put an item on your body without having to do the classic "item on head looks like it's on body" technique, because of this problem 0:34 What I came up with is that: 1. Make a mob with no AI ride you 2. Change IT'S head/body (depends on what you want) to the armor you want to wear 3. Repeat force it to rotate as your X axis, but not Y axis Now the mob won't turn their head, but you can! Glad I can help!

Mysticat, i have a solution for the head orientation problem, you could put the jetpack in the off-hand and code it to visualize on the back of the player, also change the model of the carrot to be on both hands so that the off-hand thing wouldn't be awkard.

Hey Mysticat! Really like your videos! When I was watching this I had a few ideas that could potentially improve the overall design of he jetpack. a) have the jetpack model show with a particular color of leather armor, so it actually slots on your back, or b) extend the carrot on a stick model to actually BE the jetpack, along with the button. the only issue with this is that the jetpack model would sway and move with the carrot on a stick both of these are just suggestions, and I also have almost no idea whatsoever how to use commands or model, so I would understand if you didn't do this. still, it's worth a shot if anyone sees this!

i know 3 mods with jetpacks IndustrialCraft 2: 2 types of jetpacks with no main difference biogas jetpack and electric jetpack, when holding space you will go up, if you hold space while falling you will slow down before going up Mekanism: armored and not armored jetpack, no main difference, 3 modes regular (works like the IC2 one) hover which makes you hover in place and you can use space to go up and shift to go down, and off well its off techguns: jetpack, you can use space to go up of course you can also turn it off with a different button that is in the techguns tab in your inventory but you can just press J as well, the jetpack here also has a glide-like feature, when holding shift with the jetpack you will glide down slowly and go forward depending on at what angle is your head from up to down looking down just causes you to slowly go down

You could create different models for each direction that you look and then actively change the model data of the item on your head to mach which direction your looking in.

By the way, Mysticat, you can also put items on/in your chest, just the same command as for the head slot, but then replace the hat/head part of the command with the chest part command
