By July 2009 Goldman Sachs, paid back the $10 billion loan from the government, and bought back the warrants the US government got in Goldman Sachs stock for another $1.1 billion, about 18 months after they received the government loans. Did it occur to you that from various studies that about 1/3 to 1/2 of the homeless have mental health issues, drug and alcohol issues, and often refuse care and have isolated from their families. Did it occur to you that there are 9.6 million jobs available, and that literally anybody with a modicum of desire can get hired. If they had motivation they could work 60-80 hours per week, or work full time and go to school and improve their skills and their income. It isn't decadent being highly successful, that is achievement. Decadence is wasting that money stupidly, but if somebody is worth $1 billion, and they make 5% interest, that would be $50 million per year. So, not quite $1 million per week. With that money, one can afford decadence, that doesn't cut into their principal.
