There is no comparison between Mumbai and Kolkata these days. Kolkata has been irrelevant since the 70s or so due to prolonged misgovernance. It's a city now well past its prime and a relic of the British Raj and can be considered decades behind Mumbai. This lady is absolutely spot on with her criticism, especially the laid-back and lazy mentality of the people there.
Don't know much about Kolkata but y'all talk like Mumbai is some super advanced city when the whole city becomes a lake during rains. Mumbai is overpriced, overcrowded and smells like shit and rotten meat. Any Tier 2 city in India will be a better option to settle compared to these noisy, polluted, dirty and ugly metro cities.
Any comparison is pointless. Every place has its own character and charm. It works for some, and doesn’t for others. Have you noticed how successful people from Calcutta are in other places? It’s too simplistic too say that people there are lazy. The problem is much deeper than that - decades of degenerating politics killing opportunities for people to grow.
Any city in India outside Mumbai is comparatively very laidback...and after years of staying in Mumbai, I now see that as a positive point. With age, priorities and perception change.
All bong women are like that, dominating, loud and overpowering ,I dated 2 of them, the only bonus point is they are the same in bed and they are stunning 😁 I cant date anyone other than bengali after that
Kolkata laid back ....but Marwaris go to and live there in hordes. And make money.Even now buying property there right , left and centre.Vishal please go and do a few such episodes in kolkata. We would like to know the rates there. Also Do a show of property owners both in Mumbai and kolkata.
@Vishal, can you also comment on the flat sizes in sq.ft. and the value proposition of the rent being paid. Mumbai has a large variance in rent amounts and most cant understand why a micro-market has a high rent compared to the neighbourhood.
@@simsk9306 It's not a financial planning video. Atleast in Bangalore EMI is double of rent so if you invest the difference in equity still you can buy the same house in 20 years in cash. I have not done the exact calculation but you get the idea. Saving the EMI is a thing. Rental yield is 4% at best.
@@TheCuriousCurator-Hindi buy a flat that suits your pocket.saving emi is not a thing...she wants to have a luxury house on rent when she can buy a house in the same amount that's her choice...u get a one bhk flat in 1 cr also in Mumbai...
great episode with insight in Mumbais real estate. Each home teaches some thing about design, buying, renting and affordability and how people manages around their aspirations and affordability. Keep it up.
She seemed very proud of the fact that she doesn't know how to cook. I don't understand this mentality. Its a life skill everyone should have. Having stayed few years abroad, I know how much it helped me. Now back in India I have cook, maid, nanny but during covid we didn't have any one of them but weren't having any issues. Cooking, driving & swimming are some life skills everyone should have IMHO.
This is so true , such a dirty polluted heavily populated, overly priced city with absolutely no culture.being a bong from Kolkata and living in Mumbai since 20 years i can tell MUMBAI CITY IS NOT WORTH TO STAY ..THIS COUPLE ALSO WILL UNDERSTAND THIS REALLY SOON

@@rayparamita its so convenient for people who come from outside to earn their livelihood in mumbai and then say it has nothing to offer, no culture, over populted? Wow!! Do you know the number of people arriving in mumbai on a daily basis to earn is huge? Therefore overpopulated, our culture to let everyone survive and earn, miserable...well to each his own. There has to be a reason y mumbai and not kolkatta is called the finnacial capital of india. Try and understand she said the people of kolkatta are laidback. There was no bashing in that. Its not derogatory too. Hi
@@rayparamita no culture?Imao and you are srssly living here since 20 years??do you have eyes and feelings?the tasty vada pav,the hill stations like monsoon season, the entire vibe of ganpati festival, the old british buildings in Fort area, going and sitting near the beach/sea link or marine drive whenever you're happy or sad,Mumbai has everything to offer But look at you, staying here since freaking 20 yrs and not experiencing this lifestyle but complaining🤡🤡may as well go back to your Kolkata
A 30 Sq.ft balcony gets discussed so much. It's funny, how can you spend most of the time there (esp the 2 of them together). There are some elements of the house which were really great other than location:)
Last 7 minutes of the video are just love. Begalis living in Calcutta should come to Gurugram, mumbai,Pune and bangalore just for visit....They will feel how Komunism has destroyed hard working abilities of eastern part of india ie around 30 crore people. Capitalism is vardan for next 20 years in india....someone who starts any venture right now in calcutta etc can be very successful 20 years later....avoid this freebies and Kshetravadi culture...Bhadra bengal needs to rise above regionalism and TMC. WITHOUT INVESTMENT AND TECHNOLOGY...Modern world is bhikhmanga place.
I wonder why you want this to be a Bengalis VS others hate match? The lady in the video spoke of people in Cal, not Bengalis alone. Also, do you have any personal vengeance with people who live there? wonder what makes you call the people there bhikmanga and all that…? Was it even required.
Good video But paying 70 isn't a tad bit too much? However looking at convenience around the property. Could that be a contributing factor to the amount? But nonetheless the Joys of ownership are more fruitful than rent i feel. If it were me, I'd put the 70 towards the emi knowing that it's going to be good safekeeping. But I love this property, and the owners have a great taste of design. The Greek corner was a great eye catcher and zen zone.
I am sorry but the perception of Kolkata is very wrong. It was and is the hometown of Oscar winner and noble laureates and hub of intellectual, scientific breakthroughs. Kolkata got pulled back because of political oppression for ~30 years. It seems the couple have not stayed in Delhi she would then understand what pokey neighbors are like.
These people born and brought up in Kolkata..There father grand father moved to Kolkata long back, earned bread butter. They stayed there, lived there, get education in Kolkata's best schools and colleges and at the same time they abuse Bengalees. Shame on people. You can't compare people from different city. Each city has it's strong and weak point. Next time do not say you are from Kolkata.. Say you are Marwari, lived and earned in Kolkata
Just say Bengalis cannot accept constructive criticism. I am a Bengali, and if you too are a Bengali then please visit these Tier-1 cities in Western India and see how better of a life people lead there.
@@xenxkisu FYI - Living in a IT hub in South India for more than a decade. People get fascinated at the beginning by seeing so called better life and slowly understand that every city is different and has it's own strong points. there is nothing to compare to be frank. If everyone thinks that making money, paying EMI and living in a posh society makes them dynamic in life then I believe that's not true for everyone. I hope you get my point. There is nothing wrong or right it's just different.
I understand that this lady is a typical Marwari with negative iq and eq, cause she found this flat on nobroker and then contacted a broker and then paid a month's rent as brokerage 🤣 Her parents and grandparents should also shift to Mumbai and enjoy the stink (she's mentions as the only con) and leave Kolkata for good. But guess what, they have already reaped all the benefits from Kolkata, or wherever they migrate to, instead of staying in their own city and then talk ill about it. Maybe that's how they are saving their emi money and paying 70k for rent. But, Vishal, as the host of the show you should not be so callously judgemental and misinformed. If you do not know about a city you should not comment on it or even encourage your guests to speak ill about it. This is not 'constructive criticism'. I have lived in two cities in south india, one city in west India and two cities in east india, everywhere it is different. I have been to Mumbai multiple times and spent days there, love the city, but there can be no comparison between any two cities. Makers of the show, teach your host how to be a professional first!
To be fair to the lady, she not for once mentioned Bengalis. She just said people in Cal. While I may not agree with her completely, I do agree partially. But why has this turned into a Maru vs Bong hate match? Silly people.
It’s sad to see how people here have so much time to misjudge a person and say ill things. That’s the reason probably why you guys can’t afford giving this much rent!! Nevertheless, to teach it’s own.
