Clearly I'm not the only one who thinks this video is so interesting and really no different in quality to the other excellent ones in the series so far. I love so much that you have the expertise to compare the neighborhood to a place in China, for example! I'm having a great time watching this playlist in order and recommending to folks I know like crazy ㅎㅎ
@jkang7265 thanks so much for the kind words! It was really interesting to see some similarities between rural Ansan and China for sure. Also thanks so much for watching the videos and recommending them! Much appreciated! 🙏
Another great little random adventure. I'm going to have to tell my wife about that market. Seems like a subway ride to stock up on some cheaper veggies might be worth the trip.
Thanks a lot Mike! The veggies were definitely a good deal if you need a lot of one vegetable (I don't think they sell small quantities), and there were certain items like lamb chops 4 for 15-17,000 KRW from what I remember (normally 28,000 for 3 at a restaurant I think). Almost makes me want to get that new unlimited transportation card (기후동행카드) just to make more frequent trips to different markets for groceries. I wonder if it'd be worth the price over the course of a month!
a couple things. - love this, exploring random places and exposing people to more than the tourist spots - i really hope this turns to be something you can turn into to a living, your personalities and chemistry make it great. cheers from Vancouver.
Hey @sparkspark thank you so much! Really appreciate your kind words, and cheers from Seoul! Also if you're a Canucks fan it's a pretty good year to be a fan eh! Just hoping my Dad can watch them win a cup since he's been cheering for them since 1970 haha (poor guy 🤣)
Thanks so much for the Super Thanks @youtubeuser5768! Really appreciate it! Maybe we'll try pigs tongue if we end up at a restaurant with it where we can sample it! Haha.
@addytude haha it was tempting for sure! We only had our backpacks and had to take the subway a long way home so we couldn't buy anything that day, but we will return some day to stock up for sure! :)
@peacew6 it has had a bigger foreign presence (mostly Chinese and Southeast Asian) than most Korean cities outside Seoul, and there were reports of gangs smuggling drugs in from the ports nearby about 10-15 years ago (probably before too). I think this made a lot of Koreans get the idea that it was a "dangerous city," but in my opinion the level of gang activity is not prevalent or widespread or anything, so I don't think it's dangerous at all. In a homogenous country like Korea that's generally quite safe, sometimes reports of illegal activity by foreigners can get blown out of proportion because it creates an interesting and "scary" headline in the news, and it can create an "us vs. them" mentality, which might be why the narrative that Ansan is a "dangerous place" was created in the first place.
Hey @DSK2020 thank you so much for your generousity and support! That helps us out a ton to make these videos! We will use the money to buy lunch on the next random subway video we make. We will keep working hard trying to improve and keep making videos. Take care and thanks again! 🙏
@@lostthenfound Nah bro thank you! I am living through your eyes, lol. I was lucky enough to be stationed in Korea twice and you actually made a video in January about Hoeryong Station in Uijeonbu which I've actually been to. It was so weird cause it looked so familiar and then I remembered I was there once to meet some girl I was dating at the time.
I love the fact that neither of you guys want to get a full-time job. Glad you guys are totally enjoying life living day to day. Your videos definitely helps the foreigners living in Korea and even some of the locals. 👏👏👏
@2GoodLookin thanks so much! Haha we are extremely stubborn for sure. Hopefully we have been able to show people some new areas in Korea, as we are quite blown away ourselves sometimes when we discover some of these places randomly.
It's a pretty interesting market for sure Thoan! Anyang-cheon is an awesome ride as well going South from Seoul! Enjoy the warmer weather coming up and stay safe too!
